PART 47:

Hi all.. thanks for all the lovely reviews and support, that too when the show is revamped with my all time favorite characters, especially MY Aisha no more existing, except for Arjun...
But lets keep them alive in this forum and through our own stories... welcome to the new members...
So here's the next update of Khamoshiyaan...

PART 48:

Seated in front of a temporary stand that supported the lap, Aisha and Arjun gasped at Rathod's words.

Arj: WHAT?

Sam: haan Arjun, it seems Aryan is dead.

Ar: do we have any evidence?

Sam: Arjun, you maybe aware of the issue, that he withdrew the police case he filed. He felt that there is something behind the death of his friend. Lekin do din baad, uss case ko wapas li gayi thi.We are not sure, if he did it or someone else. But we know only one thing, Aryan was never seen after filing that case. Sirf Aryan hi nahi, aur bhi student missing the uss waqt. Police encounter hui uske 15 din baad. Jaise wo police waha pohonche, the firing began. Fir thode der baad ek bada sa explosion. Jiske baad wo jagah pure tharah se jal gaya tha.

Ais: aur wo jagah kaha tha?

Sam: it looked like a warehouse. Forensic people got evidence of computers and electronic items that were fully damaged. Saath bohot sare dead bodies bhi. Uss explosion iss had thak tha ke ye nahi keh sakthe ke kithne lashen the, aur kin kinke the. It was beyond recognition.

Ar: and what makes you think Aryan was one among them?

Sam: Rawte its clear like water. Wo warehouse ussi company ke logonke the. It was belonging to one Mr. Khan. Par unhone statement diya tha ke wo uss warehouse use nahi kar rahe the. Aur uss waqt wo states me the. He have alibi.

Ar: it's not going in the right track Rathod. Bohot kuch missing hai. Let's start from the first. How did police know about this hide out?

Sam: koi informer ke raaste.

Ar: question changed. Who was leading the operation?

Sameer took a moment. "ACP Thakral"

Both Arjun and Aisha hissed at the name. This was the same reaction that Sameer expected. He too had gone through it before.

Sam: I know...

Ar: Thakral... no wonder. He is masterin making a living man dead and a dead man disappear.

Sam: tho ab hame pura yakeen hai ke kuch gadbad hua hai.

Ar: kuch nahi Rathod... bohot gadbad hua hai. Agar ye company videsh se controlled tha, then we have a serious issue. Khan ko wapas bulane ke bare me socho. We need a lot of work to be done. Sree, get a list of the entire student who were working for this company. If possible try to find out someone alive.

Sree: yes sir.

Ar: Sakshi, mujhe iss case ke purane hisaab chahiye. Not from the police records, but from the media ya newspaper. You all have your own sources, right?

Sak: of cource Arjun.

All were looking at the screen intendly. They could see the rising of ACP Rawte. Aisha had glitter in her eyes to see him so. Oblivious to their thoughts, Arjun was still making comments on what to do.

Ar: kya Thakral ko patha hai ke case reopen karne wale hai.

Sam: shayad nahi. Wo ab Pune me hai.

Ar: don't worry. Khabar abhi thak pohonch gaye hoge. Expect a call from him before tomorrow evening. He will... sss...

He hissed and winced in between.

Arjun unknowing tried to shift his position but the pain did shoot up.

Ais: Arjun... kya hua?

They could see him trying to control the pain. "Rawte kya hua? You ok?"

He stopped to turn position and leaned back on the pillow panting. "yeah... I am fine" and closed his eyes.

He could sense silence around. He opend his eyes to see Aisha holding onto his elbows and looking at him. In the screen everyone was looking curious.

Ar: I am fine guys... bas thode shift karne ke koshish ki thi. Maybe it's not time yet.

Ais: Arjun, aaj keliye bas. Aaj bohot der baite hai na. Aur drive bhi,tho lets stop it for a day.

Sam: drive?

Arjun gave a happy smile. "yup. Aaj bahar gaye the. There is a good viewpoint near by. You guys should come down here once. Jab sab teekh hojayege."

Sam: of course we will come. Good to know thode bohot ghuma bhi hai. Ok take rest. Raath kafi hochuke hai.

Ar: inform me of updates.

Sam: ok, goodnight.

All wished goodnit. Aisha logged off and placed the laptop and stand away. She turned to see Arjun in thought.

Ai: bas bas, ab zyada math sochiye. Come, let's go to sleep.

She helped him to lie down. He was having slight pain all over, but didn't try to show. She could see he was still in thoughts. She lay beside him and brushed his hair from his forehead.

Ai: kya soch rahe ho?

Ar: patha nahi ye sab bathein Baba se kaise kahu. I just can't think of it.

Ai: I can understand. Lekin sach jobhi hai, usse ek din bahar aana hi hai na?

Ar: hm...

She kissed his worry lines on his forehead and placed her cheeks on it. He could feel the warmth that she was giving. She was trying to sooth him from the pain. He held onto her palms taking the support that he needed.

Ai: don't worry Arjun. Mien hu na yaha pe? We will see to it together.

Arjun smiled at it and nodded his head.

Ai: but I am impressed to see ACP Rawte back in action. Abhi bhi wahi jalwa hai.

She gave a naughty wink to him. He pulled her to him making her feel the warmth of her blush. His eyes said it out loud what was hidden in there.

Ar: ACP Rawte ka dekh liya. Ab bohot jald Arjun ka bhi dekh lenge. Ek baar Mumbai wapas pohonchne do...

Aisha couldn't help her smile and blush this time that she hid her face onhis chest. "and I am waiting for that day Arjun..."

He held her tight to him. He wished to cut off all the barriers around him. It seems that the one above was giving him a whole sale of challenges. And he knew the day was not far from breaking it to pieces.

They slept due to the tiredness of traveling a lot. The morning began fresh with daily activities.

Ar: yaar, kash har roz bahar jane ke chance milthe... its boring inside here.

Ai: kyu nahi. ek baar wapas Mumbai pohonchne do, fir kaam keliye bahar hi rahna hoga. Thab aap sochege... kash kuch samay keliye ek bed milthe... so try to keep up Arjun.

Ar: hm...

Arjun was already pouting on the idea of the restart of the therapy session. Baba had to give a small samjhe samjhau' session to get him back on the therapy area. All the way Aisha was amused at these. But she could see him eyeing Baba at times. She knew what was going inside him. She too wondered how they are going to break this man's golden heart.

By night, Arjun was again up in front of the screen waiting for the team to com in. It took a while to come in.

Ar: kaha the tum log? Kabse wait kar raha hu?

Sak: Arjun... jaise waha tumhare khayal rakhne Aisha hai, waise yaha koi nahi hai. Hame khana khane bahar hi jaana padtha hai.

Ar:ok ok... so whats the news?

Sam: Rawte. Relax. Thode baitna tho do.

He sat silent till they settle.

Liza: Aisha kaha hai?

They couldn't see Aisha on screen.

Ar: mere liya zehar mix kar rahe hai.

"ARJUN..." came a warning note from her. They saw him looking ahead of the screen with a smile.

Ar: ok... mere medicines mix kar rahe hai. So if you all are well settled, kuch baath kare?

All liked his eagerness.

Sam: jaise tum predict kiya, Thakral called me.

Ar: I knew this was going to happen.kya kaha?

Sam: almost gave m a warning note, not to reopen this case. Kaha ke bohot bura hoga.

Ar: I hope you gave good reply.

Sam: koi shak??

Ar: par usse lightly math lena.bohot ziddi hai, aur dimag ke thode kache. So be carefull.

Sam: and see who is saying all these? wo jo sare ziddi logonka baap ho??

Aisha chuckled at Sameer's words. Arjun shot a warning glare at her. It was such a cute scene to them.

Aisha came to the screen with a glass of medicine. "lo, dava lo"

Ar: thode baad.

Ai: nope, Baba ke strict orders hai. Time pe lene ka.

Arjun took it with a wrinkled face. Smelt and then drank it. Almost gave a shudder due to its taste. "yuck, isse behthar zehar hi tha"

She slapped his elbow and took away the glass.

Sakshi: looks so tasty, hai na Arjun?

Ar: ya, ek bar try karke deklo. Patha chal jayega. Back to the case. Sree kuch patha chala?

Sree: sir, I am trying to find any survivor of the case. Problem ye hai ke, kafi saal hochuke hai. tho usss purane batch ke student ko track down karna mushkil hai.

Ar: try to see the missing student list of that time, jisse coding aur programming me interest tha. Then find their friends.

Sree: yes sir.

Ar: Sakshi?

Sak: kal mien meri mentor se milne wali hu. He will take me to someone who may help us.

Ar: ok good. Aur kuch?

Sam: Rawte... Thakral tumhare bare me puch raha tha?

Ar: kya pucha?

Sam: yahi ke tum kaise ho and all that?

Ar: ithna bhi pyaar se nahi hoga. Hamare ek purane hisaab hai.

Sam: hm... just take care. See you later.

Ar:ok good night.

They logged off.

Ais: Thakral ke sath kya hisaab hai?

Ar: hm... I helped him to solve a case... par usse wo pasand nahi aya.

Ai: help? Ok... obviously wo koi authorized help nahi hoga...

Ar: you are getting smarter Officer Aisha. Ya it was not authorized. Wo apne zimedari se thode bhatak raha tha... tho meine help kiya. But helping mind ka aaj kal koi kadr hi nahi...

Ai: so sad...

They chuckled at that and went on to sleep.

Days later:

The talks were going on between them. The case was opening to many ways. Many names where coming ahead. And all seemed to be pointing at the same end. Aryan was no more. But they still needed informations. ETF was also incharge of other cases. So they had to run this is parallel.

While in Sneh Bhavan, everything was getting to normal. The pain was subsiding gradually. The strength was building in.

Arjun was ready for another session. He was wheeled out by Aisha.

Ar: Aisha... you missed the way.ye wo rasta nahi hai.

Ai: I know.

Ar: tho hum kaha jarahe hai?

Ai: ek alag jagah.

Ar: nayi session hai?

Ai: haan, kuch aise hi.

Ar: stop the riddles.bolna...

Ai: sabr kar Arjun.just a little more.

They reached a hall where Baba was waiting for them on the door way. Two other helping men where present too.

Ar: baba whats going on?

He smiled and opened the door.

It was room with a wall paneled with a mirror. In the centre of the whole was two poles supported horizontally. There was a gap of a person to stand in between. One could stand in between the poles supporting on it.

Arjun was looking around to understand what was going on. Aisha sat opposite to him on her knees placing her palm on his thighs.

"Arjun... we are going to walk today..."

He looked at her surprised. And then looked at Baba, who nodded supporting.

Ba: haan, Arjun. now your legs are ready to support you. But its not going to be easy. 2 saal se zyada hua hai, ke tumhare legs ke use nahi hua hai. So we will have to start from stage one. Trust me, its going to be painfull. Ab achanak blood circulation ke wajah se pehle kuch din seedhe khade hona bhi tough hoga. You have had enough quota of pain. Now its time to take it a little more.

Ar: kya mien sach much...

Ba:chal paoge? Yes, but only if you wish to walk. Iss bar, na mere medicines, aur Aisha ke support kaam ayega Arjun.its going to need your will power. You will have to take the pain. But we are here to support you.

Arjun sat grasping the situation and then nodded yes. The idea of getting back to his legs, was next to getting back to Aisha. He wanted it very badly.

Ai: are you ready?

He nodded again.

She helped to place his legs down on the floor. Baba asked her to move aside as he was needed to be supported by men. His legs were not yet strong enough. He needed to be supported.

The helped him to standup. More than predicted, the pain was very high.

The sudden blood flow was paining. Even though they had adjusted him by the therapy session, it was still painful. She could see it in his face and eyes. Baba asked them to place him back to the chair and gave him water.

Ba: mujhe patha hai, bohot dard hoga. But it will get better with time.

Arjun nodded and sighed. "lets do it again"

Ba: nahi Arjun. We will take it slow. Overaction disrurbs the balance. So slow and steady. Relax for a while. And then lets start over.

After few more attempts, he was supported by the men, and himself holding on to the pole. He stood for a while and then back to the chair, owing to the pain, sweat and shiver that he felt.

Ba: ok, aaj keliye bas ithna hi. We will do it daily. And trust me again, we are going to make it. ok?

Arjun gave a weak smile and nodded. The men and baba left leaving her by his side. He looked totally exhausted. She sat opposite to him and cupped his face which was fully in sweat and eyes closed. "you ok, Arjun?"

He opened his eyes to see her worried again.

"aise lag raha hai, jaise pehle baar khade ho..."

She smiled and placed her forehead to his. "its ok... we will make it. I promise"

He hugged her tight, hiding his face in her nape. She could still feel his panting due to exhaustion.

When he was composed, she wheeled him back to the room. Helped him to fresh up and changed the dress. Due to the exhaustion, he slept off.

It was late evening; she was talking to Sameer about the day and his new step. She asked him not to come online that day, for which he readily agreed.

Arjun was still relaxing. She could see him awake from the partially opened door. Before she could walk to him, another call came up. It was from an unknown number. She wondered who would call in his personal number which was only with a very few people. She took the call, outside the room. "hello..."

"hello...Mrs. Rawte?"

"ji haan... aap kaun?"

"mien jo bhi hu...aapke pathi se kehdo ke ETF ko math bhatkao. Uss case ko drop kardo. Warna ab bas bed pe hai... agle bar seedhe upar hoge..."

"who the hell is speaking?"

"shant hojayiye. Abhi bhi kuch bhigda nahi. Apni pati dev ko samjhao. Warna uss ladke ke chakkar me padke, khud khatam hoga. I hope aap samajh rahe hai"

"hello... dekho aise dhamki math do... warna..."

The line goes off. She tries to call back, but it was switched off. She peeps to see if Arjun have heard it. But he was only awake, rubbing his eyes and looking around, maybe for her. She decided if to speak about it to him or not. But then decided not to say. She immediately called Sree and told about the matter and gave the number. And also told to inform Sam and not to inform Arjun about it for a while. After cutting the call, she erased the call records.

She composed herself and walked in.

"kab uthe aap?"

"bas abhi. Kaha gayi thi?"

"baba se milne. Aap rukhiye... I will bring something to drink"

She walked off keeping back his mobile. He felt something off. Was she hiding something? The phone was out of his reach. He let it go, but started looking at her intendly when she walked in with a tender coconut drink. He drank it silently.

After that when she tried to move away, he caught her back. "kya hua? Pareshan lag rahe ho?"

"kuch nahi Arjun. I am fine"

"tumhe jhoot bolna nahi atha Aisha"

She stayed silent, for which he touched her cheeks. "aajke session ke bare me soch rahe ho? You said na, ke sab teekh hone wale hai? Fir kya hua?"

She held his palms tight. "bas thode fikar hua... I am sorry..."

He made her lean to his chest, her face away. She couldn't face him when she was lieing.

Ar(mind): I know tum kuch baath chupa rahe ho... take your time... but don't keep it long. I can't see you tensed like this...

Ai(mind) : sorry Arjun, aapse jhoot bolne ka iraada nahi hai. I don't want you to worry. Especially these days, jab aap ek naye kadam lerahe ho.but we will speak soon. Please thab thak mujhe maaf kar dena.
