She showed she is Arnav's sister, who does have a brain and she realised her mistake.

And this Arnav gave Khushi her due place inhis life and stood up for her.

This is how it should have been in the show.

And like Ruchi, I too loved the gesture where he squeezes Khushi's hand before going to his sister, to show that he is with her. That one gesture showed Khushi's place in his life.
