That was a terrific analysis of chapters 9(1a and 1b), Rashmi!
You are right, it was a masterstroke on Arnav's part to manipulate everyone by confessing to them the true story behind their marriage.
What upsets me is that he is gloating over his victory without once thinking how he is again pushing her into a corner where she has no choice. It makes me feel his ego is more than his love, however deep and endless his love is.
I wish he'd once told the family how much he loved her and could not let her go and deeply sorry he was for what he had done to her while he was playing on their reactions and leading them to the where he wanted them to be.
I wish he would give her some choice, even if he is doing it all out of love for her.
Sorry, Smita, I don't mean to criticize you, it is just that somehow your portrayal of Khushi's pain which she voices in Chapter 8 has really got to me. This is a person for whom agency has been denied, now all she wants is to gain some agency.
Isn't it ironic that ASR the man who has complete agency of every aspect of his personal and professional life, refuses to see her need though he claims to love her so much??
Don't get me wrong, I do want Khushi to be with him all her life, just want her have the right to decide for herself.
