That was a terrific analysis of chapters 9(1a and 1b), Rashmi!

You are right, it was a masterstroke on Arnav's part to manipulate everyone by confessing to them the true story behind their marriage.

What upsets me is that he is gloating over his victory without once thinking how he is again pushing her into a corner where she has no choice. It makes me feel his ego is more than his love, however deep and endless his love is.

I wish he'd once told the family how much he loved her and could not let her go and deeply sorry he was for what he had done to her while he was playing on their reactions and leading them to the where he wanted them to be.

I wish he would give her some choice, even if he is doing it all out of love for her.

Sorry, Smita, I don't mean to criticize you, it is just that somehow your portrayal of Khushi's pain which she voices in Chapter 8 has really got to me. This is a person for whom agency has been denied, now all she wants is to gain some agency.

Isn't it ironic that ASR the man who has complete agency of every aspect of his personal and professional life, refuses to see her need though he claims to love her so much??

Don't get me wrong, I do want Khushi to be with him all her life, just want her have the right to decide for herself.

@part 7.3

simply speechless di
woow it was like a emotional ride!

that was too emotional di,it was like reliving all the IPKKND moment from arnav's POV.

i really really enjoyed reading it ,simply awesome.

desperate time call desperate measures, this what has happened to arnav, the man who was always short of words has spoken his heart out ,just because of the fear of khushi leaving him.

Love!!!

Thanks for the appreciation.

No Lalitha, you see Arnav is now a changed man.
Why he is doing all these is because of his insecurity.
He feels as much insecure as Khushi, at times it is much more.
You see in his life there was only one anchor. That was his mother. When she committed suicide without even a thought on what her children would go through he felt betrayed. That was the reason for him to have taken time to open up to Khushi. Even then he could never comprehend the true state of her love because the other person in his life, his sister too was like his mother itself. Her love like his mother was quite selfish. When she was happy she wanted him to be too. When she was sad she could not stand his happiness thinking it came at the expense of hers. She never thought that it was the other way round! All he had experienced was selfish love so far and that is why he could not recognise Khushi's unconditional one. But the time he recognised it, it was quite late and he was scared that she would become just a mirage for him. So in order to take set things right he manipulates. But accepting Arnav after 15th is her choice. If she wants she could file for a divorce without the stigma of being in a live-in relationship. That is what is being portrayed. He is rectifying things here for which she was not really agreeable. By keeping quiet things would not have been not what they really were. Its like jack-in-the-box. Always pops out. If she wants to seperate from him later, will her family not ask her to divorce him? what will she say? That it was a contract and there is no case to file for one? That is why he is giving her an option and saving her dignity.
For him it does not matter . Its about her he had thought of. For him he wants her in his life but the option is hers to remain with him or not. He made it known to her through marriage what he wants and also with his assurance he has made it known to her that the ball is in her court.

I agree, Arnav has understood unconditional love rather late, unfortunately for him.

You have made some very good points which i totally agree with, yet i am not fully happy with him.

He is now doing the right thing by her so that she can act without any harm to her reputation. I understand that, but i get the sense that at the same time he is making it difficult for her choose, what will she tell the family on the 15th when they ask her why she is leaving? They will point out that she loves him and he loves her.

I wish he'd said to the family, that he she wants to leave him for all the hurt he has caused her and that he is marrying her to protect her reputation, that he is truly sorry and that he does not want her to leave, but he will let her do as she wishes because he loves her enough to respect her decision.

He is thinking love alone is enough, he has to acknowledge that respecting the other is also equally essential . The issue for Khushi is not of love, but one of respect for herself, not her just of her reputation. She as a person needs to be acknowledged.

@ part 7.3 interpretation

fabulous interpretation di.

so true ,the whole part was about the mistakes he had done and arnav has also given the reasons behind his every mistake.

so lets see what khushi does now whether she gives importance to his mistakes or the reason behind his mistakes.

Love!!!

In response, I would like to quote what I had written in my post titled UNBOSOM. The closing lines is given below.

She had reached her limit and within the next few days she had decided to severe her ties with all of them. She needs time to heal, time to recover, time to decide. That is why she asks him to set her free in the name of love.

Along with what I wrote in the post titled MASTERSTROKE,

It also once again gives him leverage over her though this time he might not opt to exercise it. If she wants to go away from him she could go for a period of time but they would be bound together for their lifetime.

For her life is along with him. She has to decide what she really wants and that I feel she will get. This time the option will be hers I think. Lets see how Smita takes it.
