Semanti, it's really interesting to learn how diverse your interests and knowledge are! Are you a trained ballet dancer, by any chance?
"Alright you two, you are going to sit here for the next two hours, in complete silence, and do something fruitful. A project, make notes-- I leave that to you. The point is to sit together in civilized silence like the adults that you two claim to be." Must commend Prof. Sharma and his wily ways for coming up with this particular punishment… knowing those two, it must have riled them up no end! I don't know if Khushi is justified in blaming Arnav for their argument when she was the one who opened her mouth first! Interesting to note that she has noticed that his bad boy image has been carefully cultivated, ipso facto, he's not as arrogant or rude as Khushi thinks [a notion aptly borne out by NK's words]! Frankly, their arguments are getting out of hand, especially when they become personal in their attacks… "… People would actually care if I disappeared, since I'm not quite the freak that you are." Made me wonder if she felt hurt because she was called a freak or because she might be an orphan with none to look after her! "I'd rather be a freak than be around the shallow, two-faced, air-headed bunch of gossips that constitute your friends and fan-club. At least my friends care about me as opposed to how much money my family has." Again, does Arnav wonder if his 'friends' are drawn to him only because of his family's wealth and power? Their antagonism might stem from unacknowledged sexual tension, but their childish confrontations demean both… why can't they just ignore each other? All said and done, Khushi's constant harping about Arnav's affluence doesn't win her any points… rather, it reeks of envy… similarly Arnav has no right to belittle her dressing sense! I concur with Prof. Sharma's views about their behaviour! The ever-loyal NK being the voice of reason is my favourite. His romantic disasters with Lavanya were humorous and adorable. Khushi teasing NK about she getting involved with Lavanya is amusing. Khushi claims that Arnav is a know-it-all but her opinions seem to prove the same in her case, too: "Oh I hear everything. And as you know, I'm ethically opposed to football and all other organized college sports. I believe I have expressed my views on the unhealthy obsession with sports and the hero worship offered to athletes, not to mention the blatant sexism in terms of favouring the men's teams over the women's teams, MANY times." Or is she trying too hard to sound like an intellectual? Maybe, it's just me, but the facts Khushi and Arnav keep throwing at each other during their arguments or the jargon that they use make them seem pretty pretentious! Sorry, just the feeling I get with all info flying around. "I WILL NEVER FAN-GIRL OVER RAIZADA!" Famous last words! That hidden talent for ballet was endearing… am sure Arnav will find out, sooner than later… intrigued to know what his reaction would be then! Perhaps it had been the argument about suicide that they'd gotten into right in the first week of first year, in an ethics class. She'd been vehemently against it and had pronounced everyone who sought suicide weak and cowardly. He'd immediately called her out on it and asked her not to pass judgment on things she had no knowledge of… seems to suggest that either one or both have been affected by suicide, or maybe, I am reading too much into this! She broke into a reluctant grin. She wouldn't fight this idea. It would be hilarious and Raizada would learn his lesson. Shushing her conscience, Khushi swigged some water… hope she doesn't do anything that might unknowingly hurt him emotionally or might make her fall in her own eyes!
