That was one of the most interesting chapters of PJ for me despite lack of Arnav Khushi moments. But that is how a story is supposed to pan out right...the story is the king and the leads shouldn't carry the entire burden on their shoulders.

Shashi and Garima are seriously the most forward couple of that genration belonging to that particular strata of society. I mention the class here because...for the most part, the upper echelons of society and the lowest class do not really adhere to these so called morals. The lowest classes do not have the resources, hence cannot be bothered about something as qualitiative as the good and bad. The super rich on the other hand have too much of resources at their disposal thus making them believe they are above ordinary mortals.

Now coming back to Garima and Shashi...hats off to them for doing what they believed in. I wish more of us had that kind of courage ...to live life the way we want to instead of worrying about what the world thinks.

Having said that...My respect for Shashi dropped for the first time. I never said this before coz I understood him as a parent. But he as a parent who did things diffrently failed in his approach to his daughter's life... that is setting double standards. Not fair. He cannot think his child will fail where he succeeded. He is not giving his child enough credit. I held him in a higher place before but today...Hmm...Good for Garima. She took a strong stand.

What's up with Payal Gupta? She seems to have mellowed all of a sudden and how...

I'm thrilled for Akash...no wonder he is grinning despite his fever.

Anjali Arnav conversation gave me few insights into Anjali's life. She is in that place in life where she is forced to love a person who troubles her. Poor thing. Is that the reason why she is wary about Khushi? Is she applying the same standards that she is forced to follow with-laws to Khushi?

Will wait and watch.

Finally hamara intezaar khatam hua !

And we got a glimpse in the minds of Garima and Shashi.

So quite a formidable couple i must say ...who had a live in relationship decades ago.

Surely must have been tough for them ..and this also explains the liberties given to their daughters presently.

Needless to say my thoughts are favoring more towards Garima when she spoke of how they are being hypocritical towards Khushi and i really dont feel Shashi's reasoning is very justified ...when it comes to parenting there is never a set rule to follow ..but once we lay the foundation of education and independancy ..it really should be left at that and let our children follow their own path.

Khushi is well educated and has the ability to stand on her feet , if her true calling is writing she should be allowed to make that choice ... she may fail or succeed but then that will be her own decision.

In either case she has the ability to bounce back.

Abt Madhoo giving in her two bits... is such a common sight ... People always talk whether they have a reason or not. Such talks are best ignored.

Coming to Anjali and Arnav ... some time for sibling bonding and the mummyji talks gave me a feeling of deja vu !!😕

This one answers a lo of questions that were swimming in my mind and more so after the last couple of updates. PJ is known for its realistic portrayal and so Shashi and Garima's open mindeded attitude over the relationships of both their daughters came as a surpise to me. But not anymore. Now that things are in the clear in my mind I can sit back and enjoy the story as it goes by.

But the conversation between Shashi and Garima was well portrayed. I might like Shashi for the person he is and for the qualities of a parent that he possesses but Garima does stand out even though her presence might not be of the same duration as that of her husband. Loved her thoughts on curtailing Khushi on the professional front while takign an opposite stand when it comes to her personal decisions. At this point of time all I can think of is the gratification both will feel upon knowing that her daughter is stronger than they give her credit for and that she is going to shine on the professional front as well.

We've had countless Anjalis who have been blind towards the real nature of Shyam or who have been clingy sisters. This Anjali therefore comes as a refreshing change. She is different from the cliched Anjali yet there is an underlying similarity that endears us to her. I cannot comment about their being trouble in paradise owing to her decision or whether she will stifle her aspirations...that is left to see. But I can definitely say that an Anjali who is smart, has the gift of a melodious voice is sure to weave her way out of the current predicament.

P.S. I share Arnav's sentiments. You do have some relatives (and by relatives I mean the distantly related ones) who get on your nerves. Let me know if he finds some soluion for the same.

loved SARIMA(sashi+garima) convo. i agree wid garima...sashi wont dare to force his decision on khushi again. truely...garima n sashi r strength of each other.Garima is really sensible. on the other hand sashi is...umm...behaving like a FATHER!!😕

Arnav n anjali!!! what can i tell abt them...typical anji!!! Anjali sings!!! thanks twiggy.. she does something apart poja n distirbing arnav. anji-hubby-mother in law...typical sas-bahu-hubby!!! i really hope...anjali goes to UK. if her hubby n MIL really loves n cares abt her they wont mind. if they mind...anjali shouldnt really care so much for them. they dont deserve it. i agree wid arnav. dont like anji's MIL.

Ah my dose of intellectually stimulating fan-fiction is back again. I tell you Twiggy, you are making me think more than I have for a really long time now. :D

So Shashi and Garima seem to have had a very interesting story. And in those times. I am so happy to see that they were able to stick to their ground, to their beliefs and still emerge victorious and I say this because both their daughters are such wonderful children and human beings. They definitely did something right.

But like the majority here, I have to say I am a little disappointed in Shashi - for thinking less of his child than he did of himself and in Garima - for not helping her husband see why they need to give their children the chance they all but took for themselves. Yes, they are open about their daughters pursuing relationships of varying degrees of seriousness with their chosen partners but that is the beauty of trust, isn't it? Either you trust and extend that trust to every sphere of life - or you don't. What Shashi and Garima are doing is middle ground and while accepting their hypocritical approach is definitely a step in the right direction, something more needs to change, no?

Parenting is tough. I am learning that now. I only hope to never stop learning. Just like Shashi and Garima probably have. I don't judge them - fear for your child will make you do things that you might not appreciate being done to you but a life of fear and what-ifs is not fun - for anyone!

Phew...see so much thinking...not good. Thank you for the slightly more relaxed sibling conversation that followed. Though the entire MIL discussion was a little too real for my comfort, it was a fun seeing a normal, healthy brother-sister pair in the story. I am a little sick of dysfunctional ones - including the one I am writing of course ;)

This is your best chapter yet, Twigs - because it displays maturity and though way beyond what you expect to find on Fan-fiction and on this couple. And it shows just how comfortable you are in spinning such stories. Take a bow.

hello,

iam a new reader recently saw this story...finished reading all chapters...very very interesting...
the title is very innovative polemic jakanapes...from the starting of the story Arnav and kushi are in love...she is a writer and he is business man...interesting ...
better late than never i am also part of it...
chapter nine: liked the way arnav supports kushi in every way from the starting of the story i feel like arnav is more confident than kushi,like he is more serious in her...may be i am wrong...

chapter 10: shashi and garima remembering their initial days feel good to read...they also had love marriage... and their concern regarding kushi simply superb...very broad minded...i liked the way they the trust they had in kushi...whether she went out with arnav or spend some alone time with him...
arnav and anjali conversation is soo good...always like that...
its simply superb...

What did I just read! Shashi and Garima loved together? That must've been back in the late 80s. My God, it's a miracle they're alive. And Garima is right, what is the point of defending Khushi's personal freedom and giving her none in her professional life. After all, that affects her more than anything else would, cos she now has a job she hates. But I guess Shashi is just trying to protect her future. His method might be a little harsh , but all his actions are out of love. I hope Arnav finds his inspiration soon in his job, this could really be the turning point for him. And I hope Anjali's hubby realizes how unbearable his mum is.

Tu toh badi brilliant hai re, in one stroke you explained why they are so casual about Arnav Khushi and Payal Aakash relationships. They may consider themselves hypocrites for what they did to Khushi but they aren't hypocrites in this area then.

Both Shashi and Garima are against each other when it comes to Khushi's life, not now and might not in the future- do I see a tussle coming?

Anjali what you go through and put up with is kahani ghar ghar ki... I want her to fly high in the sky and sing up there. No point in wasting an opportunity for a woman you only bear...

Payal and Aakash are awesome comic relief even when they aren't present 😆
