Chapter 3

"Nice to meet you Meera. You can call me Sam." Sameer said still holding her hands..

"Sure Sam..see you tomorrow in class " Meera ended hand shake..and started to leave ...

"Hey ..listen... I am new to this place.If you can tell me some nice place to hang out...it will be fun" Sameer called out to meera...

"Sure ..Sam..I am sure you will enjoy this city n its people '" Meera replied while going to class again...

"I am sure I will...I have already started loving people around." Sameer added with a sheepish grin on his face...

Meera chuckled when she realized that he was flirting with her. She just looked back..while leaving..and he was still looking at her.. with something on his mind'and sweet smile on lips.

Sameer was new to the class but it didnt take much time for him to get comfortable with everyone. He was an extrovert like meera ..and loved making new friends'However there was just one ..who was not interested in being his friend..Shekhar'Shekhar was aloof to him..It was not that he didn't try'Sameer wanted to break the ice..He had gone to him many times too for conversation ..But Shekhar as always a reserved person kept distance... Shekhar did notice unusual closeness that had developed between meera and Sameer' It was irking him more and somewhere very reason for his cold behavior towards Sameer.

One day after college hours , meera was waiting on roadside for Shekhar with her friend Avani'

"Hey meera.I will drop you home today " Avani asked meera..

"No Avani'Shekhar will be coming soon'. I have to go to his place too 'We will be studying for our test tomorrow'" Meera replied...

"Shekhar...Hmm. Okay." said Avani..

"What do you think of Sameer...new guy...in such short time...he has almost every person in this class as his friend..." Avani asked with a excitement on her face...

"Sam...He is nice...cool person.. He is big flirt..though..I could see all girls already impressed by him." Meera replied...

"And You.?" asked avani..

"Well...I am not that one to get easily impressed . He still has long way before he can impress me.." Meera replied to her rather confidently on this..

Shekhar was coming out of college gate.and he could see meera standing on roadside waiting with her friend for him.. He noticed few bikers racing among themselves approaching the college gate'Bikes were in full speed and bikers were more focused on their neighbouring bikes than what was on road ahead them.As they approached ..nearing gate.Shekhar realized the danger as he saw meera totally busy in her conversation..not realizing the threat coming ..

Meera heard his scream and looked back'.She saw Shekhar lying on road'.and before she could sense what had happened'..A strong hand pulled her '..

Bikers had passed them ...leaving behind heavy trail of smoke and dust Avani just managed to keep herself out of it and looked at the sight where meera was standing..meera was not there..

Laying down...Shekhar looked up with a fear in his heart..Was she safe? What happened?

As he looked up.He saw her there she was...in someone else's arms..holding him tight from collar and shivering from fear.. His Strong hands were still holding her...in his arms.. Shekhar soon realized that person who had saved her was none other than Sameer...

"Its okay...You are fine..." Sameer said in soft tone to calm down shivering meera...

Meera opened her eyes.Her eyes met his...There was still a fear in her eyes while his were soft with concern for her ...Meera got her senses back but before thanking his savior...she looked back and ran towards Shekhar whose head was bleeding...

"Shekhar,.Are you okay... Oh God...this wound looks big...you are bleeding..." Meera was worried..

"I am okay meera...it is just a minor cut " Shekhar replied calming meera down..After realising that shekhar is fine..meera turned back to look at her savior...

"Sam... Thank you so much..for .." Meera looked at him with gratitude..

"Come on meera...you don't need to be that formal ...lets take your friend to hospital..."

Was it that cut that was hurting Shekhar more or the fact that It was not him who could reach on time for meera..Shekhar kept all aside...and thanked Sameer as he realized what could have happened if he was not there on time...

This incident did break the ice between Shekhar and Sameer...

"Saheb.. Will you take some tea." A street vendor called out to Shekhar who was sitting outside railway station.

It broke shekhar's chain of thoughts and he realized that it has been a while since he came out..Meera should have come out by then'It was difficult to watch meera like this for Shekhar..having only seeing her happy...contended and full of life... He never thought even in his worst nightmares...that this will be her fate..He wanted to heal her...All he wanted was to make her happy...But will she let him do that...the only question which he didn't know the answer too.

Few weeks back only Shekhar had receive a call from Nikhil..Meera's brother and he had to come back to this city...

"Shekhar, my sister needs you...she need her best friend...I cant see her in this state .Please help her talk to her...may be she will understand.."

Nikhil Bhai had pleaded him while he was all ready to board flight to New York for his new assignment.

After hearing what Nikhil told Shekhar could not go.He had to come back and somehow convinced his mother too for this decision'.

Meera needed him. Her best friend...in perhaps worst phase of her life.

Rocking and eventful !
So the unsaid and unheard competition was there btwn the 2 since the beginning.
Just like the way Sameer reached her b4 Shekhar, in real life too he reached her b4 Shekhar.
However, fate had other plans.

Waiting for more.

hmm... so Sameer came in as a competition. with cool cool attitude, he became the apple of everyone's eyes. n Shekhar was left to watch all this happening...

Shekhar feels possessive but he values Meera more than anyone or anything.

i was in evil mind reading the first part n was thinking about all the evil plans to trouble sameer, but then the 2nd part , n the reality of the situation made me sad...
