Chapter 4Sitting on bench at railway ,Meera looked at people passing by...So many families receiving their loved ones...Some joys celebrated...some contended...some planning their day ahead ... She wished every week...that this will be her last visit...waiting for sameer to return...to her... but like always he didnt... she wanted to prove world around her wrong... they didnt know but she knew...Sameer will come one day...just for her...as he has to ...coz he promised...Meera looked back to those days...when their love was just about to bloom...she didnt know it would be so soon...but then this ,man was something else... and she was already taken in...by that charm... **** After that incident of bikers, Meera had developed some liking for sameer...but what was that she could not decide...She used to get nervous around him...Just the thought of being him close to her...made her excited...made her smile without a reason... He did start flattering her with compliments each day...he knew well how to impress girls... as meera thought she was hard one ...but she was already taken in... till one day.. when sameer asked her out for dinner...she had no clue...as noone has asked her like that... Was he asking for a date...? "Meera, It will be fun...plus I need to really check out this fine restaurant...lets have a dinner yaar.. just two of us..." Sameer asked hoping for her to agree..."Just two of us...wait I will ask shekhar to join us..." Meera said"What...shekhar...I mean... Why cant it be just us..." Sameer replied irritated with shekhar's name always...between them"Oh... yeah sure... I will see you then..." Meera said "Oh thats great then...it is 7 pm then...I will pick up from your home..." Sameer said smilingly Meera was excited..so many butterflies in her stomach...she was so looking forward...to the evening...though she didnt understand why...but she wanted her to look her best... She chose her best dress...red one...lil short ...but still she can wear it..she thought...she let her hair loose...had matching danglers ... And she did look like a princess... Her mother was watching getting amused by her daughter's sudden interest in dressing herself up...and getting little worried too ...coz she has grown up...and was going for dinner with a guy alone...had it been shekhar ..she would nt have mind...but with this Sameer...she was bit apprehensive...she had met him only once or twice...He was well behaved and nice boy...but still...sighed her mother..."Mummy, i think sam is already outside waiting...I better go now..." Meera said taking her purse..."Sure dear...take care" Her mother kissed her and led her outside That dinner date with sameer was like a dream for meera...she was made to feel to special...and she liked it...Sameer was a gentleman and he knew well how to win girl's heart...They had known each other for few months now since he came in...but in such short time only he had managed to make meera's heart beat faster...After dinner they thought of taking a stroll in garden outside restaurant...Then suddenly...Sameer went serious...and shocked her..."I wanted to say something to you from a long time...Actually from the time I saw you...I felt something...didnt know what ...but having known you now...I realised that if there would be someone with whom I can spend rest of life with...that person is only you..."Meera had perfect 'O' expression on her face... what ...is he serious... and then ...Sameer came near ...and held her hand...looked into her confused eyes and said..."I love you Meera..."Meera had no idea on how to react on this...but she was mesmerised with honesty in those eyes...there were true emotions...she just kept staring at that man..noone had done this to her..made her feel so special ..this man..who came ..and just took her breathe away... Meera came to shekhar's house late night...She had asked sameer to drop her there...Shekhar was surprised to see Meera at this hour..."Meera...You so late...is everything ok...?..was that sameer who just dropped you ..what happened...where were you ...i was looking around for you all this while..." Shekhar asked all at once looking worried...
With so many questions bombarded at meera...meera just came and hugged shekhar...in her own thoughts...with happy tears in her eyes... She wanted to share one of her best moments in life with her best friend...
"Sameer proposed to me... and I said yes..." Meera said while still in shekhar's arms...
It pinched him hard...but he didnt know why... Meera was so happy... and Sameer was nice guy... But still his eyes were moist... may be because of too much happiness he thought... and he held her strongly in his arms...
"You love him...right?" Shekhar asked softly...in her ears
"Yes...i think..." Meera replied with a smile...blushing hard..
Something was broken inside...but he rather kept it hidden ...sometimes we realise our own feelings so late... and he knew it ...he was late...
"I am happy for you Meera..." said shekhar...a tear flowed from his eyes... meera didnt notice ...and he was glad that she didnt...
