akash is running AR, i guess. they are in delhi for their third anniversary, i guess.

glad to see Lavanya get a life of her own with meaning.

glad to see arnav cooking. that is something that is rare and to be treasured. loved their planning for the future too.

They are living in Mumbai now.

Rest of the family have visited Mumbai to celebrate their 3rd wedding anniversary.

Author's Closing Note-

Thank you all for the very lovely comments for the last chapter. I have caught up with a few of the comments and promise to finish reading them and address any questions you may have, before the end of day today.

I wanted to write a descriptive note on how and why I wrote the story, the characters and the conflicts.

Initially I had envisaged Parinay as a long FF. As per my initial story, Kushi decides to give Arnav a second chance when she is at IIM after Arnav and his Nani's constant pleas. They build a relationship gradually and sort of settle down into a sombre marital life. Lavanya makes a reappearance and Arnav ends up sleeping with her. Arnav tells Kushi the truth during their honeymoon after her MBA and they separate. However Arnav and Lavanya never reconcile. The story ends up taking a three years leap. They meet again and the Arnav's redemption begins from that point and the whole thing gets even more complicated when Kushi gets pregnant. Ufff...

But I didn't have the motivation to write another uber-long story as I'm already doing that with Chasing Dreams, so I tweaked the story to its present form.

Coming to the story, this story was always meant to be Arnav's story. I have always wanted to write Arnav as a man who isn't an alpha male- a normal guy, who is tab bit selfish, gives into pressure & blackmail, yet is a warm and kind person.To me this story is more about Arnav growth a s a person than Kushi's.

I also repeated some of the settings from before to close the loop. For e.g., they fought by the swimming pool 2 years ago and that is where Kushi makes the first move to cement their marriage. Its Lavanya's flat where Arnav reiterates his love for her and 2 years later its the same place where he realises he is love with Kushi. I used many such instances consciously.

This story was a fabulous learning experience for me. I'm not very good at being concise, Parinay helped me with regards to that weakness.

It was easier and simpler to write Parinay, as I had broken down the story into important milestones such as events and scenes. Once I had those zeroed in, the events and characters linked automatically.

I m simply G.L.A.D that u decided to drop your initial idea and carried out the story the other way round!

And believe me, it has turned out to be a fantastic story!

It has always been a treat to read your work NB! And i m happy to once hav stumbled upon your CD blog and thus get in touch with u thru your stories!

The story which you have finally written is fantastic.. I think if you would have gone with your initial flow of the story you decided, then it would have been like most of the FFs, and the present version is definitely different from other ones.. I still love CD more than this... Waiting for regular update on CD.

Thanks for making it an SS. It has come out really well. Not that you don't write longer versions well, the crux of the matter is this one was precise and held the readers interest.

Hi Basanti,

Lovely post. Honestly I am happy you deviated from your original plan. Arnav going and sleeping with La even after Khushi gives him a second change is too much for me to digest. He would have lost all respect in my eyes. Even though I would have loved to read more chapters in Parinay the original story would have led to too much heart ache.
