Since you were all just talking on plagiarism, I just wanted to ask that in the film industry, they do remakes of films like using the same plot, concept etc and many of those films have done well at the box office too; if this is okay and considered "legal" [Correct me if I am wrong] then can we write Fan Fictions as if like a remake of a film? Is this plagiarism then? Because if we can make a film-to-film remake why can't we make a Film-to-Fan Fiction remake?
Seems intriguing!

^In those cases, the makers of the movie buy the rights to make that film, and credit the authors/other filmmakers. If they have not done that, it is considered as plagiarism.
