A Dark Love

Nupur could hardly believe her ears, a sparkle of astonishment flashed across her eyes and then it reached to her lips as she bit her lower lip trying to suppress in a heart gratitude smile, Mayank gasped and then let out the breath as he could see the corner of her lips curled slightly and she had given him a deep stare, he wished for a moment to taken back his words but it wasn't possible'he realized helplessly. He dabbed at his lips before parting then hesitantly, "I mean I didn't have my dinner yet and ---"

"Let me arrange our dinner"

She felt it had been sensed his discomfort so she immediately came to his rescue as she didn't want him to feel embarrassed or feel regret even for a second, a new hope of their future flickered in her eyes and her heart thrilled and sang to the gay notes of their happiness together. She showed him again a gratitude smile and as then walked past him; humming cheerfully to herself she even ignored the possibility of being caught by his shocking glance. She was feeling alive and full of hope as it was the first time since they met, he had willing accept what she was offering.

Without uttering a word or giving a glance to her side he sank onto the chair. He deliberately chewed each bite more than few seconds trying to divert his thoughts from the person who was seated so close to him distracting him with her constant glances, Although Nupur could not suppress a broad, pleased smile but her eyes were glittering with love and care for him. Mayank glanced at to find her watching him closely and intently He had seen her warm expressions and the intense emotions behind it, a loud thud escaped his heart he wanted to return back that affection that love but was feared to get hurt, she realized, he is capable of deep love and emotions, she could've seen some deep emotions in his eyes floating for her. He wasn't cold blooded and unfeeling she knew it from the start when he showed her softer side on many occasions. His cool, reserved mask slipped back into place. She watched the soft expressions went almost as if they had never been there a moment before, a gasp of grief slipped from her lips and she composed herself before she would've let her tears to flow and fell on her lap.

He almost finished his dinner in haste, standing and turning towards his room as he wanted to get escape from her, he knew her closeness affected him deeply, her eyes had the courage to bore into his heart and see his vulnerability, he almost laughs on himself to show that much weakness in front of her.Nupur didn't try to stop him when he left the dinner table hastily completely ignoring her presence.

"Ma'am, Sir cares for you"

Mrs.Manish's voice startled her and she looked up at her, a soft smile had touched her lips and she nodded her head, "I know".

"Thanks for being with me"

Nupur took her hand in hers and squeezed it affectionately and smiled as tears sparkled in her eyes. Mrs. Manish had touched Nupur's shoulder in an affectionate manner, "don't say Thank,Ma'am"

She spoke taking a short pause, "I never seen him before showing his concern for anyone but today he showed it for you'I'm sure his icy heart will melt soon for you"

"I hope"

Nupur's word slipped in firm voice and Mrs.Manish smiled contentedly to see Love in her eyes for Mayank and secretly prayed for their togetherness.

She caught her reflection in the huge mirror and smiled to herself fluttering her lashes, dressed in Bridal attire she pulled her veil on her head, and then folded her hands against her chest giving constant glances to the doorway, She turned her head from side to side to inspect the carefully arranged newly-wedded room and then smiled shyly at her image, her cheeks burned to give look to the huge four poster bed who was decorated with the fresh flowers, she startled hearing the thud of footsteps near to the door and hastily she rose to her feet, she had given him a brief glance before lowering her ashes in shyness and with his each step her heart had beaten with loud thud, From the shadow of his lashes, he had admired her curves, her pink cheeks and those inviting lips, he had deliberately slipped his arm around her waist pressing against her skin and had heard the sound of her beating, she gasped backing her head until it rested against his shoulder, "let me give you wedding gift before I lost myself"

A husky whisper had touched her ear and then shivered as he nibbled her ear before stepping away.

Mayank slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out the costly chain of emeralds and diamonds.

When he beckoned, Nupur came to him and presented her back. In a moment his warm, naked fingers laid the strand about her throat. The task done, the hands caressed the soft curve of her shoulder and moved downward until they rested on her waist. He leaned down and pressed his lips to her throat she shuddered beneath his touch and with the rising desires she turned around to face him and touched her lips with his demanding a response from him but she felt him stiffen'still, her heart leaped with fear and she pulled her face to look at him, his face was like hard stone ,emotionless, the warmth and love that she had felt just few minutes ago had been vanished somewhere, she gasped in dismay and tried to touch his cheek with her fingers but in one hard jerk he threw her away from him and she collapsed with the floor, a cry of hurt escaped her lips she rose on her heels and ran towards him but he again pushed her away she felt lifeless and tears slipped from her heavy lashes, her heart cried to see the hate in his eyes for her.He regarded her with the deep rage and then turned on his heels walked towards the doorway, she cried, shouted his name again and again but the door get closed behind him leaving her alone'

"No'don't leave me'I love you Mayank---don't leave-----"

With a cry she came out of her slumber and opened her eyes, her breath was coming in short gasps, she felt suffocated, her half-chocked wailing sobs muffled against the pillow, the ache in her heart was unbearable, she curled in a knot and then slowly gathering her composure looked at his side who was sleeping on the same bed with her but the distance between them seemed like centuries to her, with the trembling body she shifted her weight on his side.

Mayank felt the movement on the bed but didn't dare to open his eyes and kept them closed. She leaned over him and caressed his cheek with the back of her knuckles, blood rushed into his veins and he tried to shy away his emotions, a sob of dismay, fear slipped from her lips and a wave of fresh tears burned her eyes she had let them fall down, "Mayank don't hate me" a broken whisper slipped her lips as she touched her lips against his cheek, Mayank felt his breath caught in his throat, his heart lurched with pain.

"I can't bear your hate"

She wept against his face and her tears wetted his skin, he took breath to give oxygen to his lungs and tightly clutched his eyes to fight with the shimmering tears in his eyes, the fight between his heart and mind was unbearable for him and he knew in this process of the turmoil he was hurting her deeply and it had hurt him, too, pain swept over his heart and he felt urged to hold her against him as he couldn't have seen her in pain'he couldn't.

He opened his eyes and with the swift motion pulled her towards him and rolled her beneath his weight, their eyes met and it felt eternity, in the dim light of moon he could've seen her tears-streaked face, her puffy eyes with unshed tears, he raised his hand and gently removed them, her eyes lifted at his face in longing caress, His mouth lowered towards hers, opening as it neared, and Nupur's heart gave a sudden thud as she became aware of his intention she looked at him through her lashes and felt his gaze bore into her, paralyzing her and then finally he met with her lips for deep soft kiss that catapulted through her like a flaring comet, setting her whole being on fire she didn't hesitant even a moment and her arms raised towards his neck and crawled around them in firm grip pulling him towards her,it wasn't a harsh kiss like they had shared in the morning but was soft and gentle, his hands gently moved on her back soothing her, caressing her gently.

It seemed an eternity when he raised his head and looked at her face, her eyes were still closed in that blissful moment, without a word he shifted on his side taking her with him and she willingly accepted the comfort, peace that his arms were offering her and she realized how much she was longing for his affection. She nestled her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes, her lips curled into a smile as he gave her protection of his arm and she willingly went into a deep slumber.

A few minutes later he felt her deep breathing and sighed in relief, he wished to keep lying on her side his whole life like that but could have he forgotten the death of his parents? A question arose in his mind and he tried to push her away knowing the answer but his heart didn't accept his decision and he gasped letting himself get the comfort of her closeness and closed his eyes getting some sleep while he know it wasn't possible for him to get sleep when the person was so close to him who became so dear to him despite his deny.
