Chapter 5 Part A
"Arjun and Riya, you both go and see what you can get from the post-mortem results, and Riya when are Aisha's friends coming?" Rathore asked.
"They should be here in a few minutes," Riya said.
"Ok, then we'll interrogate them and then everyone can disperse," Rathore said.
Within a few minutes wait, they had reached and were taken in the interrogation room. Rathore and his team went to question them.
"Sir, iss ladki ka naam Julie hein, woh aur Reema ek ki class mein the, and yeh Arshad hein, Julie's boyfriend," Riya said to everyone. Julie and Arshad looked very nervous at all the people eyeing them with anger. They didnt understand why everyone was looking with disgust also at them.
"Just how could you leave a girl alone after midnight to go back home?" Arjun barked at them.
"You irresponsible people! You are the first people responsible for her death! It's a shame that you even call yourselves friends!" Rathore shouted at them. His hands itched to beat them, but he knew he couldn't beat them.
Both got scared at Rathore's and Arjun's tone. Julie even started to cry out of fear, and Arshad was trying to comfort her all the while looking with scared eyes at the team.
In another situation, Riya would have felt sympathy for these two, since it wasn't easy to deal with Arjun and Rathore's anger but right now even she wanted to beat them for their stupidity and recklessness.
"We didnt bring you here to cry, so please stop this drama and answer us," Rathore said very irritated.
Julie was still crying and was no longer even in a position to answer out of fear, so Arshad replied, "It's not what you think! We didnt leave Reema, but she insisted that she was going to be fine. Actually Julie had to catch the last bus to her place, had we gone to drop Reema, she would have missed her bus, hence Reema insisted that she'll be fine and could go on her own."
"She insisted, and you as a man let her go alone? After midnight, you left her alone?" Arjun said not believing that man's impudence to utter such nonsense.
"She said she'll be fine," Arshad persisted slightly.
"WELL LET ME TELL YOU THAT SHE ISNT FINE, INFACT SHE'S DEAD BECAUSE OF YOUR IRRESPONSIBILITY!" Rathore shouted at the top of his voice.
Everyone were shocked for a few seconds seeing Rathore in such a state, even Shree and Chotu and Riya felt scared on seeing Rathore's new avatar.
"But you were her friend nah, how could you let her go alone?" Riya asked with tears looking at Julie. "You are both a stigma on friendship!"
"Unfortunately we can't arrest you under any charges, but if we get even one lead hinting that both of you are implicated in this, then i promise you both are going to wish that you had really missed that last bus!" Rathore said scathingly.
"So tell us what happened that night as from the disco," Arjun said coldly.
Since Julie was still sobbing, Arshad had to summarize what happened as from the time these three met and separated. Nothing sounded even remotely suspicious to the ETF team. They had met after the class for some fun, and after dancing for a long time, they had left that disco to return back.
"And anything suspicious?" Rathore persisted.
"Well nothing, we three remained close for almost the whole time. Except maybe that guy," Arshad started shooting a look at Julie.
"Which guy?" Arjun probed.
"Well there was a guy, he was constantly looking at Reema since he entered the disco. He even took a seat next to ours. Well except looking at her, he didnt do anything, he didnt come to introduce himself neither asked her for a dance. Afterwards when leaving we didnt see him. Thats all," Arshad said.
"And why did you think he's involved?" Arjun asked.
"Well only because he was looking at her for a long time, his eyes never left her at all while he was in that disco," Arshad said, "we even teased Reema about her secret admirer!"
After a few more questions, they allowed that couple to go, but not before again having blasted them about their thoughtlessness.
"Shree first go and check that disco, and bring all video footages you can get. Nowadays all discos have a CCTV installed for safety reasons. Maybe we can find a little more about that admirer or if anyone else was also after her!" Arjun said.
After this everyone separated to do their works. Chotu had to find and bring any man who had a police records related to anything with that park, while Arjun and Riya went to know about the post-mortem results. While Rathore would go to Reema's workplace and afterwards to her campus to know more about her, her friends and enemies if any. They all left Aisha alone in the office.
Aisha was still sitting on that sofa gathering all her courage to deal with the present. She was just remembering everything about Reema when suddenly her mobile beeped. She had just received a MMS. She opened the MMS and when she saw what was in it, the mobile slowly fell from her hand. She looked in a horrified way at her mobile, feeling scared to see that message again.
Arjun and Riya were the first one to return, and so they went to have a look at Aisha. When they reached her office, they were shocked seeing Aisha in a paralysed state looking at horror at her mobile. Riya rushed to her side, asking her what had happened.
While Arjun guessed that something was wrong, and it must be related to her mobile. He went to pick up the mobile, and read what was written. His face also changed colours slightly at the message, and he looked at Aisha's face.
"God, i'd kill that guy when i get him!" he said to himself.
