Was an overwhelming read. You not only redeemed Dhruv, but without any mistake, did justice to the fact that Dhruv was like Arnav. Both loved deeply, angered quickly, and hated themselves if they hurt those they love.
It was heartwrenchingly clear the emotions that were ripping Dhruv apart. He was shaped by his brother, an honest man and a man of standards, if nothing else. How immense his guilt and frsutration must have been for not being able to say the truth.
But how in the world could he, especially when he felt he was stealing his brother's very dream, the only thing his brother had dreamt for himself but had to sacrifice. The repressed guilt and dread of knwing that he was ultimately going to hurt in the cruelest of manners, the one he perhaps loved the most in the world, was a strong and volatile a couldron of emotions. Only the slightest spark was needed to cause it to explode.
The sudden visit was just that.
With no warning Dhruv was caught right by the throat. The infamous naak-pe-rehenewali temper would have been triggered by much less the way he was forced, by Arnav's demand for truth, to do something he hated, in this case, telling the truth. The dreaded truth that he had realized his dream, only, it was sort of stolen from his brother himself. Poor boy. Torn by his passion that seemed a part of himself and his love for the brother who was the very reason for who he was.
That Dhruv had not shared his burdens with anyone till he had been forced to do so by Khushi, makes him resemble the brother he adores, to such a degree that it is bittersweet.
Bittersweet because while it brings a smile to see endearing similarities between the two that makes them love and understand each other, this startling similarity is also a reason that drove them apart and caused so much pain to both.
And once again Khushi was shown to be the amazing young woman she is, for recognizing and understanding the emotions of guilt, pain and love that made Dhruv do what he did, inspite of the fact that it caused so much pain to the one she loved the most. That she empathized so deeply with Dhruv reaffirms Khushi's kind and forgiving nature. Come to think of it, perhaps it was not inspite of the pain Dhruv caused his brother but because of it, that Khushi connected so deeply with Dhruv. For pain is only felt where there is love, and Khushi is fiercely and wholely dedicated to protecting and defending what her Arnavji loves, and if need be, even repairing the relationsip between them and him.
Truly, your writing is such a pleasure to read.
It is more than apparent that you had felt each heartwrenching emotion as you wrote them, for they flow from your words to our hearts in the most profound manner.
Kisi ki nazar na lage. :)
