Great update Smita, it was hilarious. Arnav looking through Coco was too much. LOL If it ain't one of the ladies from his family ASR has no time for them, especially girls with drunken gait walking straight into him. He would much rather dodge the offending piece of baggage. ROFL.

Part 97

After Anjali, Anand, & the children left the stage to a standing ovation, it was Mami & Buaji's turn.

The audience rolled over laughing as the two ladies started dancing to Mami's favourite song, Munni Badnam Hui'.

Munni badnaam hui, darling tere liye'

Mami & Buaji pointed to the crowd as the culprits in making them badnam.

Munni ke gaal gulabi, nain sharabi, chaal nawabi re'..

The duo did a catwalk to loud hoots and calls of encouragement, especially from the children who were dancing off-stage to keep the ladies company.

Le Zandu balm hui, darling tere liye..

The crowd watched mesmerised as the ladies put the original actress to shame while demonstrating the various uses Zandu balm could be put to.

Khushi buried her face against Arnav's neck, trying to control her laughter while Arnav & Baba chuckled openly.

Munni badnaam hui, darling tere liye'

Munni ke gaal gulabi, nain sharabi, chaal nawabi re
Le zandu balm hui, darling tere liye'
Munni badnaam hui, darling tere liye'..

"Mere Liye?", asked poor Mamaji loudly. "Kab? Kaisen? Kahan?"

Shilpa sa figure'.

Buaji placed a loving hand on her ample hip. The eyes of the audience widened to impossible sizes.

Bebo si adaa, Bebo si adaa'..

Mami did the Fevicol Se step that had Chotu and Vivek whistling.

Hai mere jhatke mein filmi mazaa re filmi mazaa'..

The crowd watched the thumkas of the 2 ladies with loud appreciation. Mamaji clutched his heart.

Haye tu na jaane mere nakhre pe
Haye tu na jaane mere nakhre pe laakhon rupaiya ude'..

"Who is the fool who threw lakhs on your mother?", asked Mamaji in Akash's ear.

"Err'", Akash said. "That would be you, Pitasree. Remember the bills you paid after her last shopping marathon?"

By the time the ladies left the stage, the crowd was ready for a big dinner. A lavish spread had been arranged in special pavilions built for this purpose. All men, women, & children made their way to the feast, laughing and chatting, gearing up for the second session of the entertaining evening.

Coco watched Arnav, Khushi, & Baba join the children and the rest of their family. This big crowd of people moved towards the pavilion, inviting all those remaining in the hall to have their dinner.

They ensured that all the children got their plates of food and seats to sit. Then they went around the hall making certain that no guest had been left out. After that, they sat down together to share the meal.

NK said, "Buaji, Maasi, both of you rock!" He kissed both of them on their cheeks. All the others nodded.

"I knows, I knows.", smiled Mami happily.

"Tum sach kahat ho, Nandkisore! ", Buaji laughed. "The stage certainly rocked due to my weight when I stepped on to it."

After the meal, Arnav excused himself. Aman & his wife were sitting a few tables away, and he wanted a few words with him. After talking to Aman, he found himself being accosted by a few business acquaintances, and he had to talk to them.

The hall began emptying, as the guests finished their dinner and moved back to the hall to enjoy the rest of the evening. Only the Raizadas and their extended family and a few others remained.

Arnav signalled Akash to take his family back to the venue. Soon, the hall was empty except for Arnav who stopped to have a word with the caterers.

Coco stood behind a pillar, eyeing Arnav Singh Raizada, her prey.

Pinky Geelani searched for her daughter among the huge crowd of boys & girls dancing near the stage, an anxious look in her eyes. Where was she? What trouble was she going to cause now?

Coco walked up to Arnav. He was checking the messages on his phone, unaware of the machinations of the amoral lady approaching him. She stumbled beautifully, naturally, well enough to make any actress weep in jealousy.

But unfortunately, Arnav was unable to appreciate her skill and prowess at an act she had practiced countless times. He was looking at his garden through the glass windows. It was lit with a million fairylights, and looked gorgeous. Like another world.

He would love to sit with Khushi among his plants, enjoying the lights and the sounds of the crickets'.How she loved the garden he had created with his hands and long hours of labour!Maybe tonight, after the Sangeet was done and the guests had left, they could sit together for a while in the garden...

Coco grabbed the back of a chair nearby to avoid measuring her length on the floor, and managed to save herself from paying for new teeth at the dentists by a hair's breadth. As she hung over the back of the chair like a limp rag, Arnav went closer to the glass window to take one last look at his garden, a sweet smile on his lips, and then left to join his Khushi and his family.

This was the limit!, Coco fumed. She could feel heat waves emanating from her ears.

"Are you alright, madam?" Someone sprinkled water on her expensively made up face, hoping to revive her.

She looked up.

An old, wrinkled face of a bearer peered at her.

"Grrr'", she growled as she hauled herself off the back of the chair. Fury at being thwarted in her aim made her more violent than normal. She pulled the table cloth away from the table, making sure that all the crockery on it crashed to the ground.

The wait staff stared at her in horror. Was she mad?

Arnav Singh Raizada had ignored her for the last time. He would pay for this. Pay long and hard for this, she promised herself.

She looked at the mess on the floor.

One white plate had escaped full demolition. Only a part of it was broken. She stamped on it, her anger making her forget that she was wearing not boots, but a pair of flimsy, high heels with more golden straps & crystals than anything else.

The heel of her designer footwear cracked under the strain that was not part of their job description.

A few moments later, the waiters watched Coco limping towards the venue, one leg longer than the other, leaving behind the high heel of her right sandal to languish on the floor along with the crushed crockery.

Smita,😊

Here is my interpretation to Part 97.

One word describes the entire update! PROFUNDITY, as of feeling, as of meaning, as of thinking. Surprised??? Well, you have the right to be!

After Anjali, Anand, & the children left the stage to a standing ovation, it was Mami & Buaji's turn.

The audience rolled over laughing as the two ladies started dancing to Mami's favourite song, Munni Badnam Hui...

"Laughter is the sound of the soul dancing"

~ Jarod Kintz, This Book is Not for Sale

Munni badnaam hui, darling tere liye...

Mami & Buaji pointed to the crowd as the culprits in making them badnam.

Munni ke gaal gulabi, nain sharabi, chaal nawabi re..

The duo did a catwalk to loud hoots and calls of encouragement, especially from the children who were dancing off-stage to keep the ladies company.

"I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person" ~ Audrey Hepburn

"Her melodious laughter sounded like the distant tinkling of soft bells and he stored the sound in her temple- his heart"

~ Faraaz Kazi, Truly, Madly, Deeply

Munni badnaam hui, darling tere liye...

Munni ke gaal gulabi, nain sharabi, chaal nawabi re
Le zandu balm hui, darling tere liye...
Munni badnaam hui, darling tere liye...

"Mere Liye?", asked poor Mamaji loudly. "Kab? Kaisen? Kahan?"

"In comedy laughter settles all arguments"

~ Robert McKee
Shilpa sa figure...

Buaji placed a loving hand on her ample hip. The eyes of the audience widened to impossible sizes.

Bebo si adaa, Bebo si adaa...

"The only honest art form is laughter, comedy. You can't fake it...try to fake three laughs in an hour... ha ha ha ha ha... You can't"~ Lenny Bruce

Mami did the Fevicol Se step that had Chotu and Vivek whistling.

"Deep, hearty, clean and compassionate laughter is vitamin-tastic fuel for the soul"

~ Ethel Russell-Ajisomo

Hai mere jhatke mein filmi mazaa re filmi mazaa...

The crowd watched the thumkas of the 2 ladies with loud appreciation. Mamaji clutched his heart.

"From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere" ~ Dr. Seuss

Haye tu na jaane mere nakhre pe
Haye tu na jaane mere nakhre pe laakhon rupaiya ude...

"Who is the fool who threw lakhs on your mother?", asked Mamaji in Akash's ear.

"A well-balanced person is one who finds both sides of an issue laughable" ~ Herbert Procknow

"Err...", Akash said. "That would be you, Pitasree. Remember the bills you paid after her last shopping marathon?"

"In comedy laughter settles all arguments"

~ Robert McKee

By the time the ladies left the stage, the crowd was ready for a big dinner. A lavish spread had been arranged in special pavilions built for this purpose. All men, women, & children made their way to the feast, laughing and chatting, gearing up for the second session of the entertaining evening.

When all moved to the pavilion where the sumptuous meal was waiting for them, Coco, obsessed with Arnav Singh Raizada, was stalking him. Ensuring all had plenty in their plates, Baba, Khushi and Arnav sat together to have their meal.

"Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator, but among those whom I love, I can: all of them make me laugh"

~ W. H. Auden

After the meal, Arnav excused himself. He had a few words with his liteutenant Aman who had come with his wife. He met a few business acquaintances, and exchanged pleasantries. Soon the guests moved from the dining area to the hall where the next part of the program was scheduled. Only the Raizadas and their extended family and a few others remained. At Arnav's signal Akash led the rest of the family back to the hall and Arnav stayed back to have a word with the caterers.

Coco stood behind a pillar, eyeing Arnav Singh Raizada, her prey.

Pinky Geelani searched for her daughter among the huge crowd of boys & girls dancing near the stage, an anxious look in her eyes. Where was she? What trouble was she going to cause now?

"Kids can be a pain in the neck when they're not a lump in your throat" ~ Barbara Johnson

Coco walked up to Arnav. He was checking the messages on his phone, unaware of the machinations of the amoral lady approaching him. She stumbled beautifully, naturally, well enough to make any actress weep in jealousy.

"I know very little about acting. I'm just an incredibly gifted faker" ~ Robert Downey Jr.

But unfortunately, Arnav was unable to appreciate her skill and prowess at an act she had practiced countless times. He was looking at his garden through the glass windows. It was lit with a million fairylights, and looked gorgeous. Like another world.

"Love is like a Rubix Cube, there are countless numbers of wrong twists and turns, but when you get it right, it looks perfect no matter what way you look at it" ~ Brian Cramer
He would love to sit with Khushi among his plants, enjoying the lights and the sounds of the crickets... How she loved the garden he had created with his hands and long hours of labour!Maybe tonight, after the Sangeet was done and the guests had left, they could sit together for a while in the garden...

"I Miss You So

Though you are not here wherever

I go or whatever I do

I see your face in my mind

and I miss you so

I miss telling you everything

I miss showing you things

I miss our eyes secretly giving each other

confidence

I miss your touch

I miss our excitement together

I miss everything we share

I don't like missing you

It is a very cold and lonely feeling

I wish that I could be with you right now where

the warmth of our love would melt the wintersnows

But since I can't be with you right now

I'll have to be content just dreaming

about when we'll be together again"

~Susan Polis Schutz

Coco grabbed the back of a chair nearby to avoid measuring her length on the floor, and managed to save herself from paying for new teeth at the dentists by a hair's breadth. As she hung over the back of the chair like a limp rag, Arnav went closer to the glass window to take one last look at his garden, a sweet smile on his lips, and then left to join his Khushi and his family.

"The smile upon my lips, ?

It will surely never die ?

As I'm waiting here for you ?

until you're by my side" ~ Freida Martinez

This was the limit!, Coco fumed. She could feel heat waves emanating from her ears.

"I think I know where my life went wrong. For all the world's a stage and I'm a lousy actor!"

~ Greg Curtis

"Are you alright, madam?" Someone sprinkled water on her expensively made up face, hoping to revive her.

She looked up.

An old, wrinkled face of a bearer peered at her.

"Grrr...", she growled as she hauled herself off the back of the chair. Fury at being thwarted in her aim made her more violent than normal. She pulled the table cloth away from the table, making sure that all the crockery on it crashed to the ground.

"What is funny about us is precisely that we take ourselves too seriously" ~ Reinhold Neibuhr

The wait staff stared at her in horror. Was she mad?

Arnav Singh Raizada had ignored her for the last time. He would pay for this. Pay long and hard for this, she promised herself.

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself, any direction you choose" ~ Dr. Suess

She looked at the mess on the floor.

One white plate had escaped full demolition. Only a part of it was broken. She stamped on it, her anger making her forget that she was wearing not boots, but a pair of flimsy, high heels with more golden straps & crystals than anything else.

"If anger were mileage, I'd be a very frequent flyer, right up there in First Class" ~ Gina Barreca

The heel of her designer footwear cracked under the strain that was not part of their job description.

"Revenge proves its own executioner"

~ John Ford, The Broken Heart

A few moments later, the waiters watched Coco limping towards the venue, one leg longer than the other, leaving behind the high heel of her right sandal to languish on the floor along with the crushed crockery.

"Harry was left to ponder in silence the depths to which girls would sink to get revenge"

~ J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

The update begins with the dance enactment by Mamiji and Buaji! They dance to the tune of popular song "Munni badnam hui..." a Mamiji favorite! Two middle aged ladies dance their way to the hearts of the audience, with their actions, synchronization and moreover their love to entertain their loved ones and make the Sangeeth of NK and Aarti, a memorable one! They show the depth of their love towards this couple and the family. They don't mind being ribbed by youngsters later if they can entertain them. They think about just the fun and frolic their act would bring to their family. That is the depth of their thinking, selfless thinking! They feel what they do is worth all the trouble of even getting sore muscles.

The depth of love and the innate courtesy is expressed by the way in which Arnav, Khushi and Baba ensure that everyone present has enough to eat before they sit to partake their meal.

When NK compliments on their performance, "Buaji, Maasi, both of you rock!" Buaji's statement "Tum sach kahat ho, Nandkisore! The stage certainly rocked due to my weight when I stepped on to it" shows she doesn't shy away from the fact, but is ready to make fun of her rotund figure. This also shows how much the family adores being with one another and would go to any length and stretch themselves for the happiness of its members!

Even in the middle of the function, while being busy, Arnav Singh Raizada, feels a longing for quiet moments with his wife Khushi! The depth of their love, feelings is expressed by his thoughts of wanting to spend some valuable loving moments alone with his wife.

"That's all I need to make my life

As happy as can be

Because I love you,

And you mean the world to me"

We see the depth of feeling of Pinky Geelani who is worried about her daughter! She is wondering what is the next set of trouble that she has to confront created by her spoilt child who is beyond control! This is the classic case of

"Spare the rod and spoil the child!"

Mind you! I'm not in favor of caning but at times when the child is young one has to instill discipline in every deed with love! At times, the adage,

"You need to be cruel to be kind!"

Holds good only if the concerned child is endowed with buffalo skin!!

While the mother is fretting over her disappearance, Coco is busy putting her devious thoughts into action. The depth of her thoughts, feelings and what it means to her showcases the depth of her stupidity!

In her perfect plan of action, she was supposed to trip over into the arms of Arnav Singh Raizada and have an eyelock leading to, him being smitten by her beauty, bounty and blushes. Alas! The fate had something else in store! When Coco tripped herself perfectly to fall into the arms of Arnav, he who was so engrossed in his thoughts on his plans to spend time with his wife in his arms, moved away towards the venue where the function was to continue. He was not even aware of her presence! Coco, the Damsel in Distress, who was supposed to have been been saved by the arms of her Savior Knight, soon found herself, luckily clutching the back of a chair. Oh! What a dream fall!

"Dreams can twist your emotions like no reality can" ~ Neal Shusterman, Dread Locks

She was brought back to reality from her stupor by the sprinkling of water on her face by an old, wrinkled waiter. Just this concern, triggered the uncontrollable anger in her that was simmering all the time due to the rebuff she was hallucinating!

"Anybody can become angry... that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way... that is not within everybody's power and is not easy" ~Aristotle

The depth of her anger was such that unmindful of the place, time, reputation of her parents and the decorum she pulled a table cloth and made all the pieces of crockery on it to break into pieces! Further, seeing a lone unbroken plate she stamped it with her foot and broke it into pieces. But along the way, she broke the heel of her thin strapped designer sandal. With her single intact sandal on, making a pathetic picture she left the dining hall nursing her anger!

"Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured" ~ Mark Twain

We see the depth of love, feeling and thoughts by the members of the Raizada Parivaar vis-a-vis to the depth of stupidity, anger and gross behavior of Coco. The impact is tremendous in both the cases! That is why the term PROFUNDITY fits well.

That's it from me. Hope you enjoy it!
