okay to the chapter. I absolutely loved each and every scene... I was feeling like I'm in a maze when I read the maze part. I was blushing like an idiot I dont know why.
OMG Sikander has done this before it seems I mean was it Roshni? was she his girlfriend? OMG what is it yaar please reveal the suspence and little bit... I wanna know more... and Sikander challenging Arjun was just WOW!!!When I felt Arjun was almost going to rescue Riya, Sikander's magic worked I mean I could imagine everything as if its happening in front of my eyes! and Rathore's helplessness was so sad 😔
I'm sure Sikander is gonna call again. Hey I never thought this but I liked Sikander no no I loved Sikander as villian! 😆

CHAPTER SIX
"No use, the car would be in ashes by now." said Arjun, "he is too clever to make these first timer type mistakes."
"Nobody is perfect sir! He must have left something behind, a trail, a mark, a clue, anything!" Said Chotu positively and Shree too joined him.
"Yes sir, we wont even leave an inch to find any damn clue about Riya! She was there! We can't just sit there knowing she is in the same city, doing nothing." Shree said and Arjun got a new hope, a new ray of tiny hope, that with himself and his team, HE WILL FIND HER!!
Just then, his phone rang.
"Hello." Said Arjun and indicated Shree to tap it down.
"Cheater, cheater. I didn't know policemen could cheat too."
Hearing his voice Arjun couldn't hold himself cursing him, "YOU- - -"
"Language, Arjun. Language is very important. Especially, when the ball in my court. Or to say, when the girl is on my bed." saying so Sik smirked and Arjun could hear sickness in his tone.
"Don't you dare!" said Arjun angrily. "She is mine! If you as much as touch her, I will - -" before he could say Sik said.
"Aw! I never knew you loved her! I thought you wanted her out of your life." Sik said faking the concern.
"Just come to the point! What the hell do you want!?" said Arjun as he couldn't stand Riya being with him even a second more.
"You know what I want. I want you to suffer, as I enjoy the game." Said Sik and then Arjun looked at Rathore who gestured him to continue talking as one minute is going to be over.
"What do you want to play." Said Arjun controlling his throbbing nerves that were aching to kill him.
"Not so soon, Arjun Rawte! Your ETF people are too nosy you know! Interfering in between everyone's businesses. So why don't you tell them what happened 2 years ago so that they can come and play with us. What say!" said Sikandar and Arjun's eyes went wide. Rathore and everyone who were listening with their headphones looked at Arjun and first time, he couldn't look back in their eyes. Just then Rathore heard Sikandar address him, "hello, Rathore! I know you are listening so please don't insult my intelligence by not speaking."
"What do you want!" said Rathore but he kept on looking at Arjun's worried face.
"Ah! Save me the words! 'What do you want', 'leave her', 'don't you dare' and blah blah blah. I have heard them a millions of times! So here is a little secret. Arjun is not new to this game. So now its time, to interrogate your old friend, Rathore. Make sure he blurts out the whole truth. Till then, tatah!" saying this he cut the call before a minute.

Rathore's eyes pierced through his being and Arjun, just stood there eyeing the ground. For the first time, he was not able to look in his team's eyes. He was embarrassed, he was ashamed, and moreover he was guilty.
Arjun, avoiding the conversation, tried going out of the room. He pulled open the hospital door, but before he could go out, it closed. He saw Rathore's hand close it and lock.
"You aren't going anywhere before telling us what happened 2 years back!" said Rathore in authority and Arjun looked at him, nearly pleading him to not to bring out the topic. "No Rawte, not this time. My sister's life is at stake. I can't let you leave without telling me the whole thing, and I mean it!" saying so Rathore made him come to the center and sit on the bed. But instead of telling him anything Arjun just sat there looking down.
"You are behaving like a guilty criminal! Don't test my patience, Rawte! JUST Say it!" Rathore urged him further.
"I don't really know where it all started! I can't explain what happened!" said Arjun in a weak moment and closed his eyes in shame, making a tear slid down his cheek. Shree and Chotu's eyes got moistened seeing the ever so brave and heartless cop cry.
Seeing his vulnerable state Rathore came forward and kept his hand on Arjun's shoulder, "your silence is proving you guilty. Tell us if you want us to help. Please. I lost a sister years ago. I can't loose another one so soon again. I am thankful, I got Riya as a sister. And Rawte we can save her, and we will! But tell us what happened! Maybe it could help us rescue her."
"I was responsible." Said Arjun meekly and accepting the fact that Sikandar was right. Shree and Chotu too came forward and Arjun began to tell, "Sikandar was right, I played the game before. This all started 3 years back. I arrested Sikandar when he was planning a big bomb blast in Mumbai. I arrested him, that was my biggest mistake. I should have killed him that instant!" Shree looked into Arjun's eyes and they were red with rage. "I arrested him and took him to court, he had many sources and relations with known people, he was sent to jail as the court announced him life sentence. But using his connections he was out in just a year." He clutched the bed sheet in his hand and Rathore looked at him a bit softly.
Arjun continued, "he, he was out and he found me working in a different city. And there he – he found out about- about" Arjun couldn't bring himself to tell it. He closed his eyes and said it, "he found out about Roshni! MY FRIEND." The hurt was visible in his eyes. The look on his face told everyone that the story after this will not be a good one, and yes, it wasn't either.
"The place I worked in, was very small town and Roshni, she lived in a nearby house. We became friends eventually and she called me up for lunch sometimes. We were just friends, nothing more! But when Sikandar came to know about this, he kidnapped her. He then called me and blackmailed me to - - to play these sick types of games and he was too cunning to loose, whenever I was near winning he used to change the rules. The only way to save her was to win over. But he never let it happen. Then he- he- challenged me to find her in a maze, just like Riya." Arjun again closed his eyes as the day's happenings came rushing back to his memory and flashed in front of his eyes as if happening for real.
(Arjun remembering everything. Here is what happened in Arjun's POV.)

I reached the maze and the time again was 15 minutes. The clock started the second I kept my legs on the ground. Thank god it was daytime and the place being a town, the maze was also a bit small. I was searching my friend everywhere but she was nowhere to be seen. I looked every short inch of the maze and then after some time I found her, lying there just as we found Riya, tied with cloth and drugged. I was about to go to her when he appeared from a helicopter and pulled her away from me by a rope tied around her waist, he snatched her away from me, my only friend.
I was then hell bent on finding him. He knew she loved me but I didn't love her so it was less sort of entertainment for him. He did everything for his own happiness and his happiness lies in other's pain. He called me to meet her for the last time. My blood became ice, was he about to kill her?! He told me to reach to an address, I did. It was a storage place of an old shipping company. As I reached there alone, as he asked me to, I saw Roshni tied to a chair and struggling to get away. I ran to her and saw her in her full senses. The moment she saw me, she was happy, but I didn't know this happiness was just a second old.
I saw Sikandar coming towards us. Roshni was frightened as she saw him, and I was in rage. I attacked him and soon his goons appeared too. I fought with some of them and then his men held me hostage in a chair too. They tied me and then Sikandar came forward. I didn't know what he was going to do I just struggled to free Roshni and myself. Just then when he came forward, I saw a needle in his hand. It was filled with something, he injected me with it and then laughed a devils laugh and winked at me. Soon the contents of the injection took a toll on me and I was drugged too, I was able to see and hear things but wasn't able to do anything. He then opened me and fought with me. I wasn't able to hit him but he was. He kept on hitting me and Roshni kept on screaming and crying for me. This was his entertainment again.
After that he put me on the ground and opened Roshni. She came running to me and cleaned my wounds with her long sleeved top. I was hurt, so was she. I was dying slowly, so was she going to too.
Sikandar took her away from me grabbing her hairs and threw her on the ground away from me. Roshni tried to fight against but she couldn't. Soon he took out a pocketknife and slit her left wrist, she screamed again. I too was helpless. I tried my all courage but nothing happened, I couldn't even move an inch! I was so --
(Rathore kept a hand on his shoulder again and Shree was in tears hearing what really happened with Arjun and now everyone knew why he behaved so differently with Riya.)
The blood oozed out of her wrist like water, she kept on crying seeing me, and Sikandar, he laughed! He laughed at the girl dying, he laughed at the plight! I screamed and screamed but wasn't able to do anything! I wish, I had killed him that instant instead of arresting him!
Roshni held her wrist and stopped the bleeding after few minutes. She still cried and screamed for help but no one listened to her, and I – I was lying there doing absolutely nothing!
As the situation followed, his entertainment seemed to reduce. He was hurting her and that was hurting me like hell, to think she is here like this, just because she loved me!
Then Sikandar came to me, he saw me lying there seeing everything, feeling everything. He took my hand in his, smiling at me and placed long cuts on my arm, near the elbow. (Arjun took out his hand band and showed it to them, it had severe cuts on it, and then they realized why Arjun wore this band, it reminded him of that incident.) I didn't scream, I dint flinch, coz I knew if I did, he would continue to do it. So I just closed my eyes and let him do what he did. Roshni screamed to him to stop it, she cried loudly, she cursed him loudly.
Getting angry, Sikandar again went towards her, I screamed to him, not to hurt her, to hurt me instead, she had done nothing wrong to him! But he dint listen! He took her other wrist in his hands, looked at me, smiled at my plight again and slowly made a cut in her other wrist. It was not deep enough to kill her, but it would have hurted like hell. After that he came to me and said in my ears, "I wont let you have anyone to call yours. No one. Not even a friend." And then he stood up and asked Roshni loudly, "do you want to die for your loved one or should I kill him?" pointing a gun on my head. Roshni's eyes widened and the way she looked at me, I can't forget her eyes, they were loving, caring, sacrificing! She smiled at him for the first time and said, "I would die a hundred deaths to save Arjun from one!" and then Sikandar laughed his signature laugh and shot Roshni twice on the stomach ruthlessly and she- she died, in front of my own eyes, in front of me, because of me. Just because of me! If I weren't her friend, she would have been alive.
Just then when I saw her leave me, I remembered how she took care of me a lot. Knowing that I was a cop and I didn't had any routines to eat and have food, she would call me up to remind that its lunch time, dinner time and tea time etc! She tried to make me feel at home, coz she knew I ran away from one. She loved me. I was really proud of that but I, I was just friends with her. I didn't know my friendship would cost her, her life. If I had any idea I would have walked away from her, just like I did, with Riya.

Everyone had tears in their eyes, even Rathore. He was Arjun's friend from their training days but never in his life, he mentioned this to him. They got posted in different places after their training and hence they were less in touch but then after years Arjun joined ETF.
"I knew he would be back. He told me he would, after he killed Roshni and dumped me to a hospital to live with this guilt forever that a life was gone just because I would live. I searched for him, I was still searching when I heard that my father was ill, I went to meet him, he asked me to get married, I told him I don't want to coz I knew if I had anybody to call mine, he will take her away from me forever! I didn't want to make another innocent soul suffer and be in pain because of me, but I was married to Riya forcefully. I married her but wanted her to hate me, so that when Sikandar returns she will not sacrifice herself for me. But Riya was Riya! Everytime I pushed her one step away she would climb up two steps to me. I wanted her to hate me! I kept her away from every thing, each and every happiness so that she would go back to her family, so that she would leave me! But her unconditional love made my stone heart beat again and I started loving her. I promised myself to protect her from everything that is why I abandoned her from everything, I didn't let her go out, I didn't let her meet anybody, I dint let her do any damn thing! But couldn't stop her from loving me! I couldn't. And here she is, trapped with that monster, just because of me!" Arjun's tears flowed down and Rathore hugged him.
"I love her Rathore! I love her way too much that I am fine by her going away from me too, I just want her to be safe, safe from him, safe from ME."
Rathore broke the hug and looked at him, "Are you saying that your scared of that bas*ard!? Are you scared Rawte!?" Rathore said not believing himself.
"NO! I am not scared, Rathore, I am just worried. I don't want Riya to undergo the same circumstances Roshni went through just because she loved me."
"That IS called being scared Arjun!"
"No, I am not Sameer! I just think that if I was incapable of saving Roshni from him then how will I save Riya!?" Arjun argued.
"I cant believe it!? just because there is a psycho waiting to harm you, you are compelling your loved ones to go away from you!? And you are saying you are not scared!? Are you kidding me, Arjun!" said Rathore frustrated at his nonsense talks.
"You don't understand, and you wont either! I did what I felt right!"
"Yes! Hurting your love so that she doesn't get hurt is the right thing, isn't it?"
"You are being ridiculous, sameer!"
"So are you! I mean who does things like this??"
"A lover! I love her and I will do anything to save her from that sick psychopath! Even if he tells me to kill myself in order to save her!"
"You are speaking like a coward, Arjun. Hear yourself. You're gone mad!" said Rathore, as he wasn't able to understand what was Arjun trying to portray.
"I can't tell you how I feel, sameer, you won't understand, and I just can't explain." Said Arjun as he slumped down his bed again.
"I want to understand, tell Me." said Rathore as he came forward and kept his hand on his shoulder.
"I cannot make you understand sameer, Sikandar warned me. He said he wont let anyone be my companion, my love, and my family. He will - " he looked at Rathore and admitted, "what if I could not save her, what if she sacrifices herself for me?! I can't let her die so that I can live! The burden of a life gone is way too much to bear, to wake up every morning and realize that an innocent live was sacrificed for yours is a terrible feeling, sameer. " Saying so Arjun dipped his head down in shame.
"Do you really think she would be happy to see you like this! Roshni, she didn't sacrifice herself so that you become scared to love again, to live again. She did so, so that her LOVE could live longer, YOU could live longer. Love is not just living with your loved ones Arjun, it is also being ready to die for them when you get a chance to save them. Riya is doing the same right now! She is out there with that bast*rd in hope, that you will find her! You will save her! And all you are doing is mourning over a person who is already dead! No matter how much you feel guilty or regret, Roshni isn't coming back! I know you din't love her, but you love Riya! So get up and save her! Arjun, no matter how big the distance is, it reduces even with a small step! You just have to decide in which direction you want to head, forward, or back wards. You have to take the step forward, you can't force your love to go away in order to protect it! You have to protect it by being with it! You have to be with Riya!" hearing these soothing words Arjun realized how wrong he was, how terribly wrong he was to push Riya away. He hugged Rathore and cried for his mistake.

Rathore rubbed his back and soothed him. Shree and Chotu too came forward and kept a hand on his shoulder, knowing Arjun had so much buried inside him and they were thinking he was heartless.

Arjun broke the hug and said brokenly, "I know she loves me and I too love her, I thought she would be safe away from me, but no, I was wrong, terribly wrong. I should have taken care of her." Arjun cursed himself for whatever she did for him and he played heartless to her.
"You did what you could do, you can't change that! It was bound to happen. But I promise, fate wont repeat itself with Riya. What happened with Roshni will certainly not happen with her. We will find her. I am with you! You are not alone this time." Said Rathore.
"No, the whole ETF is with you, sir!" said Chotu and Shree nodded.

Riya was healthy and happy as hell, she received great love and care from Arjun's side in these two days of her life when she was drenched in rain and he took care of her like a newly wedded husband would. She felt like a queen when Arjun asked her if she was okay and when he offered any type of help. Her heart swelled with utter pride that THE Arjun Suryakant Rawte was taking care of her. He frequently asked her how she was, what she wanted when she asked him to go out to the grocery store and then he assured that she doesn't need to step out of the house, he will get that thing, may it be vegetables or groceries or even a candy she wished for! He did it all! As if he was in love with her since forever and will be, till forever!
Riya giggled as she stirred the spoon in the pan, she remembered how she pleaded for him that she needed to take a bath after she merely recovered from cold, he warned her only 10 minutes and then when she took 20, he was hell worried and then he kicked open the bathroom door at once! She closed her eyes and thanked god that she was just finished wearing her cloths and was putting her hairs in place! Or else! Riya blushed crimson and giggled again.
She came out to the living hall and took a look towards the clock. It was dinnertime! She took a glance towards the door, hoping for any sound of the key being twisted in the lock, but nope, not even her landline phone rang today, is he not here yet?!
Just as she got her eyebrows down and made a sad face, she heard the landline ring twice and shut up. She brimmed, as it was a signal from the watchman! He is here, she literary jumped and went inside the kitchen to keep the food on the table. He took few minutes to park his car and then head up, he never used lift, and he was so health conscious, He always took the stairs. She smiled and poured the food in the casserole to keep it hot and readied the dining table. Soon again, she sharpened her ears to hear the click of the lock and this time, it didn't disappoint her. She blushed as his presence sent a chill down her spine, Arjun came in and went directly in his room to take his long shower.
After few minutes he arrived and sat on the chair, Riya smiled seeing his eyes shine seeing his favorite dish, chocolate cake! Even though Arjun was so different from Riya, they matched in one thing, their favorite dish, chocolate cake or to be precise, DARK chocolate cake with a bit of sourness rather than sweetness.
His eyes shone with excitement! He couldn't stop it. Riya saw this and controlled herself from laughing as she peeped from the kitchen door. She knew Arjun loved eating sweets in the beginning of his meal, not after having his food. He took the cake in his hand and looked here and there to find Riya, what if she saw him eating the cake like a child! After getting assured that she was not near, he had a mouthful bite and closed his eyes relishing the taste of it. Riya again peeped out and smiled. This is the most delicious cake, he thought, at first when he ate this cake for the first time, he thought Riya bought it from a shop but then one day he saw in the camera that she was making it herself! He was so proud, he couldn't tell. Riya was multi talented; she had everything a man could wish for, a caring heart, a good cook, innocent, and loving. But he was not the one. Maybe she deserved someone better.
He ate his dinner and she too had it after him. Arjun then went on and slept in his room and Riya went in hers, being satisfied seeing him eat her cake.

Arjun was sleeping peacefully when he suddenly woke up startled. Maybe he saw a bad dream. He rubbed away the sweat from his face and sighed. He looked at the clock, it was 2 AM. He then decided to check up on Riya.
He got up and slowly sneaked up in her room. He saw the bed, and got a heart attack! It was empty! Where is she!? Where is she gone?! In the middle of the night!? What the hell!? How can she be so careless-
His thoughts were stopped when he saw her sleeping on the couch. Why was she sleeping on the couch? He went near her and saw her almost tied between the blankets. He smiled at her and saw her holding a book in her hands. Maybe she slept reading the book.
He carefully untied her from her blankets and held her in his arms, she was so light! He could nearly hold her in his one hand! He then without any noise put her lightly on the bed. She was sleeping but maybe she felt herself being put in the new place and she tried adjusting herself in her sleep. She rubbed her hands on the mattress, maybe to warm it up for herself. Arjun smiled at her antics and went to the couch to get her blankets, it was chilly and cold outsid—
"AAhh! Leave me!!" screamed Riya and Arjun turned shocked.
He ran and went near her immediately. She was asleep; maybe she was having a bad dream too.
She moved her head right and left and rubbed her wrists on the bed sheets as if she tried to free them, "Leave me sir!! Arjun sir! Leave me! Aah! No, please!!"
Arjun went cold, his eyes widened in shock, he soon gathered himself and went near her. She was moving her head as if nodding a no furiously, "Riya." Came his soft whisper, but nothing happened. He then went beside her and moved his hand to touch her small form, "Riya!" he said nearly crying out to her.
Riya again cried, "sir, I – I am sorry! I – am. Sir, leave me – please." She pleaded in her sleep and Arjun's eyes became teary, she thought of me like this?
Arjun couldn't hold it and nudged her furiously, "Riya! Wake up!! RIYAA!"
His voice brought her out of her dream. She got up and looked at him scared, accusing him through her eyes. She quickly looked at herself, her top was alright, she then hugged herself as if stopping him to see her assets. Arjun was surprised to see her doing that. He took forward his hand towards her to speak but seeing his hand near her she flinched back and then looked around her, she was on the bed! She got up from it and climbed down, away from him. She then saw him standing their mute and shocked.
Arjun saw this and went towards her, "Riya, what ha-" seeing him come close Riya moved two steps back, scared like a small kitten. She then looked at her shoulder, to see his bite that he gave her. She looked at her shoulder and saw it, it was not bleeding! How!? It was old? Then she saw him and came to her senses. It was long time back when he tried to force her! she was just dreaming! But how did she come to the bed!? I always slept at the couch from that day, frightened of the soft mattress!
Arjun saw her looking at her shoulder and the bite was visible to him. It became a scar now, an old scar. She was horrified seeing it. And he was too. He never knew that that incident had such big impact on her!
Suddenly her scared voice came, "I – I slept on the couch! you- you took me to the bed?" asked Riya.
"Yes, but what's wrong?" asked Arjun really worried and confused.
Riya scared took a sharp breath in and moved a step back, that day's happening came to her mind, how terrible that incident was. Arjun forcing her to – she again took a step back and Arjun saw this.
"Riya, what's wrong with you?" saying so he tried coming towards her and Riya took two steps back, hitting herself on the cold wall. Arjun saw all this and was hell confused, she was okay in the evening then what happened all of a sudden?
Just then Arjun came to her slowly, she looked at him suspiciously, Arjun slowly lifted his hand up and touched her cheek lovingly.
Scared that he will again hurt her Riya cried out, "do-don't hurt me si-sir! I am sorry, but p-please don't hurt Me." she literally begged him to not hurt her. I was NOT going to!! I care for you! Arjun's heart said out loud but he was too shocked to even utter a word. He just slowly rubbed his thumb on her cheek lightly, telling her lovingly that he wont hurt her, he is here to help. Riya lost herself at the light, yet so powerful touch of his hand on her cheek. She moved towards him a bit and Arjun closed the distance and hugged her lightly. "I wont hurt you, Riya." He whispered and she clutched the fabric of his nightdress. Arjun placed a light kiss on her hairs and she held on to him more, as if something is going to snatch him away from her.
A cold wind from nowhere made Riya shiver, Arjun with no further delay, wrapped his arms around her and made her warm instantly. Riya held on to him more and the Arjun picked her up, Riya scared for a second, saw his eyes, they were caring and warm, his black-coal eyes gave away the emotions he felt, care, love, affection and somewhere in the corner, guilt, hurt and regret.
He picked her up and took her to bed, Riya saw him lowering her down on it and scared she said out loud, "NO," Arjun quickly held her up, she hesitated at her outburst and then slowly said, "I- I will sleep on the- the couch." She said and looked the other way, not wanting to see the hurt, even though she did not see, she could feel him being hurt.
A pang of guilt passed through his being, he saw the fear in her eyes when he was about to keep her on the bed, the way she screamed, took him by surprise even though he knew she was scared. He slowly turned and took her to the couch. He put her on it and covered her with her blankets. Riya quickly went inside the soft fortress of her blankets and hid herself till neck, only her face visible to him.
He then pressed his lips, in order to tell her good night without even saying it, but Riya held his hands. Arjun looked at her baby face and couldn't stop himself from bending down and kissing her forehead and wishing her good night. She smiled slyly and closed her eyes, falling in deep slumber instantly.
Seeing her asleep already Arjun had tears in his eyes. Her trust and love was far more bigger than this whole universe. She was like an angel. Angel, in the truest sense of the word. A lone tear came out of his eyes seeing the trust she still had on him. Five minutes ago she was as scared as a prey getting stuck with a predator but his two soothing words gave her so much confidence that she trusted him instantly. He bent down towards her lips, kept his own on them lightly, and promised, "I wont hurt you. Ever." And with that he went away in his room to sleep, even though he knew sleep was far, far away from him tonight.
Arjun sat on his bed, clasped his hands together and kept them on his lips, thinking. What have I really done! Riya is sleeping on the couch since that day I lost control on myself! Why didn't I notice!? She is scared of me?! I shouldn't have done that! I am her culprit! The way she got frightened when I kept her on the bed. The way she wriggled as if I was pinning her down! The fear in her eyes and the intensity of her fear.. Arjun remembered how she flinched away and tried to step away from him,then she was consoled instantly by my words that I wont hurt her, it was miraculous! She was assured instantly, her undying trust in me, her love for me, how can I pretend to have unseen it all! How? Riya! You don't know, this love is going to give the hurt only. If I love you, all you'll ever get will be hurt and pain! Please, Riya! Don't love me so much that I become compelled to love you back, hate me Riya, I am worth hating, not loving, hate me. So that if Sikandar comes, you will be able to walk out on me, hate me, hate me, HATE ME!

"Just imagine Riya lying in one of them, you will know how." Said Arjun determined to find her.
"We are not going away from this place without taking her with us." said Rathore and Chotu nodded.
"For Riya! I will tear down each boat." Said Arjun and everyone nodded to him.
"You can't break our boats!" said a fisherman.
"Just watch me!" said Arjun challenging him. "I will pay you ten times your boat might cost!" said the prince inside Arjun, and his eyes said it all. The madness in them made the fishermen shiver in fear.
