TEMPLE-
Anand and Anjali walked side by side, silently down the temple stairs. "You know, she loves him alot!" Anand said at the same time Anjali said "He is breaking down slowly and I am afraid he will lose hope."
Both stared at each other for a moment and then laughed. Becoming serious, Anand said "I think it is time we step in."
Anjali smiled. *What a beautiful smile she has...* "Yes Anandji. But what can we do?
"Well, you have seen Khushi and Arnav together. Maybe you could recreate some of the incidents...?"
"Hmmm...Yes..." Anjali said thoughtfully.
"Any ideas...?" Anjali thought for a minute and said softly with her eyes wide. "Delhi mein Bali!" And while on their way to shopping, she explained it all to Anand
RM- (still afternoon)
Khushi was drying clothes on the terrace, and coincidentally, Arnav walked onto the terrace due to bad signal for his phone. He looked at his phone and had an idea. He stood on a stool that was nearby and waved the hand with the phone. "God, this phone! Why isn't the network working!"
Khushi turned around surprised. "Arey, Arnavji! If you do that, you won't get any network either!"
Arnav got down. "Well, my wife did that!"
Khushi turned back to the clothe-line and started drying the clothes. "Hm?" she said disinterestedly.
"You see, once we got stranded in a lonely place and had stopped near a dhaba on the road. So thats when my wife had tried this...It kind of, seemed to work" he shrugged. "Your wife also must have been Sanki like you. Besides, how in the world did you end up getting stranded on a highway to Nainital? And how can standing on a bench give better signals?" she asked, continuing to dry the clothes.
"Well, the car malfunctioned on the way. We had issues." he said slowly, narrowing his eyes at her.
Khushi laughed. "Of course! Your wife must have been crazy to take out the petrol."
On getting no response from, she looked up to see that his eyes had hardened and he had a stony expression on his face. Gulping, Khushi fled. When Arnav went down, Khushi was nowhere to be found. He saw an excited Di. "Chhote! Listen! I have good news!"
"What Di?" Arnav asked warily.
"Me and Anandji are going to work together to get back Khushi's memory!" she said. "And?"
"We are going to recreate scenes from your pasts" Anand said. "And Chhote, we are going to start with Delhi mein Bali ! Nice idea, hai na?" she said happily. "Keep her in her room throughout the day, okay? We are going to prepare for...whatever this is by evening!"
"Alright." Arnav said and headed upstairs. He walked to the closed doors of Khushi's room, and knocked once. "Khushi, Di wants you to stay inside till evening! They are planning a surprise for you...and the kids!"
"Okay" was all he got in response. For some unknown reason, she was drawing into herself again.
EVENING -
Delhi mein Bali At about six in the evening, Khushi was allowed to come out. Her lunch had been sent upstairs. Khushi walked downstairs. Everything had been arranged exactly as it had been on that day... Including the dresses! "Phurust e-dance pilleej!" Mamiji said, looking through her pink 'e-sun gillasses'
A slow music began to play. Akash asksd Payal to dance, while Khushi watched them dance. Then Arnav came up to her. "Can I have a dance with you?" he asked. Hesitantly, she slipped her hand into his and they began to waltz slowly. Soon, Anjali and Anand joined in.
After few moments, Arnav whispered to Khushi. "You know, Di had done this for me and my wife too."
Khushi smiled. "Sweet idea hm? Honeymoon compromise..." Arnav nodded, feeling that something was odd about their conversation. Even the one they had had on the terrace that afternoon. After the dance, they had dinner. After dinner, Khushi cleared her throat. "Um, I have an important announcement to make..."
Everyone looked at her expectantly, curious. "This maybe a bit unexpected, but due to unavoidable circumstances, I am leaving tomorrow morning..." Besides, I got a call from the kids' school as well."
Arshi and Navi looked at Arnav helplessly, while he just stood there shocked. The rest of them were shocked as well. With that, Khushi bid everyone goodnight and went upstairs. Before Anand could convey to Arnav that he would tell Khushi that Raghav was visiting tomorrow, a panic-stricken Arnav had already rushed upstairs.
Arnav stormed into Khushi's room. He saw her fumbling with the locket of her chain thoughtfully. "You can't just leave dammit!" he said frustratedly.
"Why not? The kids have school..." Khushi said calmly.
"They can go to school here in Delhi!"
"No."
"You can't take them away from me!" he said threateningly.
"Well, why not! What are they to you except for the children of your brother's wife's sister!" she said angrily.
"Dammit I am their Father!" Arnav said.
"You are NOT my husband, nor my children's father!" she hissed.
"Khushi, how can you not remember the day we got married at the temple!?" he said.
"Look Mr Raizada, I am not the kind of person who marries in temple! And DEFINITELY not for six months under some blackmail! Marriage is not a joke!"
"But you did just that!" he said.
She was going to say something, when she saw his face change to a mask of calm, deathly fury. His eyes hardened as he saw her necklace. "Whats that?"
Khushi followed his eyes and saw the heart-shaped openable locket. "Well, that carries my husband's photo!" she said firmly.
His eyes turned cold and he stepped near her. "Open it!" he commanded.
"No." she said.
"Khushi, open it!"
She refused to comply. "It is my husband's photo. What's it to you!"
Thoroughly furious, he trapped her with his left hand against a cupboard and extended his right hand towards the locket. Khushi closed her eyes at the proximity and also to control the tears slowly building up. She shivered as she felt his fingers against her collar bone. Arnav gently pried open the locket, and saw a picture of him on the left and Khushi on the right.
"You remember everything now don't you?"
