"Rey"Sharon called out to him as she saw him walking all by himself like a loner.

"Sharon..Thank God I saw you..I wanted to say sorry...I am sorry from the bottom of my heart...Won't happen next time..Promise.."Rey sounded really sorry.

"Its okay Rey..One last warning..If it happens again, trust me, you and me won't be together."

"Thanks Sharon.."Rey said..

"Okay fine..lets go..The lecture is about to start.."Sharon replied. She was trying to sound normal but somewhere she was still unhappy about it.

Sharon knew one thing for sure. She had known Rey for 10 years and he had always been her best friend. This friendship turned into a relationship. According to her, Rey was her first love. She didn't know the exact meaning of the word "love" but she took it in such a sense that love is when a person completely understands you and cares about you like no one else does.

They entered the classroom. Sharon saw the guy she had bumped into earlier that day. He was sitting alone. She did not want to be friends with him but at the same time she didn't want him to sit like a loner.

The professor on entering the classroom pointed out to him.

"New boy, right?"

"Yes sir"

"Come here and introduce yourself"

The guy in the checked t-shirt got up and walked towards the professor.

"Hey..I am Swayam..Swayam Shekhawat.."he began but couldn't complete because the professor cut him in between.

"Sports scholarship right?"

"Yes sir"

"Great..We have an Usain Bolt with us." The professor laughed but no one else did.

"Swayam, I suggest you find yourself a proper place. No one in this class is a loner. Wait I'll find you a place."

He scanned the room thoroughly and finally his eyes fell on Sharon.

"Miss Rai Prakash!!"The professor exclaimed.

"Yes Sir?"

"This boy will sit with you until he gets accustomed to the college stuff and everything else..Show him around and help him with his work since he is new. It is the beginning of the term alright, but I am handing you the responsibility of taking care of his work."the professor said.

Sharon quickly glanced at Rey who was mentally asleep.

"Rey" she whispered to him.

"Rey, wake up!!The professor wants me to sit with the new boy."she said waking him up from his mental nap.

"Yeah Sharon..then sit with him na..How does it matter?"Rey finally replied

"Rey..But.."Before she could say anything else, the hoarse voice of the professor disturbed them.

"Reyaansh, will you please get up..?Let Swayam sit there.."

"Yes sir."

Rey got up and found a place to sit in. Meanwhile Swayam went and sat near Sharon. Swayam was trying hard to establish a friendship with her.

"Hey" Swayam began.

Sharon didn't say anything but just gave him a slight smile.

"Sharon?Right?"

Sharon nodded her head in a yes. The smile was still there. But it was not genuine.

The professor began his lecture.

"Do you have a pen?" Swayam asked after a 10 minute gap.

"Yeah..Here you go..." Sharon passed him a ball point pen.

"So class for this project, all of you will work in groups of two..Here are the chits. To know who your partner is, one by one pick up these chits."the professor said.

The class was divided into two groups. Swayam and Kriya were in the same group while Sharon and Rey were in the same group which clearly indicated that they were not going to be project partners. The first group was asked to pick up the chits.

It was Kriya's turn. She picked up hers hoping to discover Rey's name. But after she saw her project partner's name, she grimaced..

"Sharon" Sharon looked at her and gave her a questioning look.

"You are my partner"

Sharon was highly disappointed. She could be anyone's but Kriya's partner.

"I am going to flunk this project" she mumbled to herself.

"Reyaansh Singhania" Swayam read the name of his partner. "Both of us will be working together on the project."

Rey liked making new friends so he was not at all disappointed. Instead he was quite happy.

The bell rang which was an indication to the fact that the lecture had ended.

"Ok class, the deadline for this project is the end of next week..All the best.."the professor said one last time.

Sharon was highly exasperated.She moved out of the class in an angry manner. She was walking in an absent minded way. She had only one thing on her mind. How on earth was she supposed to work with Kriya? She was so busy thinking about it that she didn't notice a slippery floor in front of her. Just as she was about to land with a thud, a pair of strong muscular hands grabbed her.She looked at him and saw the same face with chocolate brown eyes .They were bewitching, according to her. She was so lost in them that she forgot to ask him anything else.

"Next time, look where you are going.."Swayam said.

She was not listening to him. She was just admiring his face, his eyes, his small nose. She had never seen anyone so closely, not even Rey.

"Sharon?"Swayam wanted to know if she was even listening to him.

Sharon finally came out of her trance.

"Huh?" she muttered

"I said, next time..keep a watch on where you are going. There won't be anyone to catch you like this, always."

"Yeah..sorry.."

"Swayam!!"a voice called out from somewhere. It was Rey.. He saw Sharon in that position. Swayam was holding her.

"Yeah Reyaansh..I wanted to talk to you about that project."

"Before that, will you please straighten me??I can walk on my own.." Sharon said softly.

Swayam did as indicated and without even thanking him, she walked off from there.

"She is weird.."Swayam said after some time, with an unpleasant expression on his face.

"She is my girlfriend.."Rey spoke.

"Oh..okay..Anyways, what about our project Reyaansh??" Swayam changed the topic.

"We'll do the project at my place, okay?"

"Yeah..fine..Your address?"

"We'll go directly from college..What say?"

"yeah.. okay.."Swayam didn't like the idea but he did not have any other place on his mind. He could not take Rey to his place, of course.

"And..Swayam.."Rey continued..

"yeah?"

"Rey..only..Rey..not Reyaansh.."Rey spoke with a smile on his face.

"Fine..Rey.. Give me your number by the way"

Rey gave Swayam his number and took his too.

"So..I'll see you after college?"Rey said.

"yeah.."
