Hey,

Okay, I know let's see everybody's super hyped about the delay in update for I don't know since long, one month or more, I know and I understand your concern too, but honestly people I am doing nothing on purpose. Since August if you see, my exams+ their preparations is going on and they finally came to an end on 14th December. I mean and end for only 15 days after that school starts again, and exams on the go once more. I would have given the update on 15th Dec, only but I had to go urgently to my grandmother's place since she had an eye operation and I had to take care of her hence the delay in the update.

Really, really sorry for that, things had not been in my control, if they were nothing of all this would have happened. To be quite sure, sometimes I even had time free but I have a lot of things going in my life apart from studies that is why coudnt concentrate on writing the update. Now that Teenage Love is my only ongoing FF, and only work that I be writing, I shall dedicate all my spare time to writing it and make the most of these holidays by banking up updates, and giving you frequent doses of the story.

The update beneath this post, that is Chapter 19: Connections was so long that I have decided to post the 'Special update' two days later, only for the sake of everybody getting enough time to cope up with the update. The update is ready and I am not bluffing this time, I will be updating, it's only for reader convenience that I will be posting it on Wednesday.

Once again, very very sorry for the delay.

Pleasant Reading. :')

Love,

Batool.

Khushi shifted in her place, her head propped up against her two palms that were supporting her face, her entire body spread across the bed, as she let Aparna escape back into memories of that day.

"Is it only me, or can I see that girl eyeing the two of us from a long time?" Arjun asked Aparna, looking at Anitas's hay wire state at the other end of the room, munching on his salad, as Aparna who seemed similiarly indulgent about the whole thing, nodded her head, her mouth full of delicacies.

"It not you. Its me too. She has been looking here for quite some while. You reckon we should go and ask whats her problem?" Aparna asked him, looking at him straight, munching food from her full mouth, giving Arjun his time to make a decision, but after making an apprehensive face at her she was sure he was in mood to take the first step.

"Alright then. It's not like we are going to meet the duo ever again." Aparna said conversationally, looking one last time longingly at Aryan Gupta, before Arjun nodded at her and the two got up from the table to go find their parents, and rush themselves back home.

"So none of you did anything?" Khushi asked surprised, highly interested now as Aparna nodded and told her, how it was not for another 2 months that they saw Anita and Arjun until it was September and she with Arjun were both joining a new college. She told Khushi, of how it was their first day at colledge and they both seemed really nervous about it, Aparna about her studies, and Arjun about how many good looking girls he could actually sent drooling over his looks. Khushi giggled a bit hearing that, but quickly stopped, as she saw a loan tear move down Aparna's cheek, not saying anything, until Aparna had collected herself, and was ready to go on with the story.

Her blonde hair tied up in a tight pony tail, swayed away in the autumn air of New York, as she walked beside her best friend who was with his girlfriend, the two indulged in some very peppy talk which she had little interest in. Looking ahead of her path, the three entered the reddish brown campus building and walked through the corridor, an erry canniness enveloping them. As if the giddy feeling of being in a new place was not enough, her eyes met with a pair which was walking in the opposite direction too engrossed in their chatter to see her, but her mind had completely frozen seeing them, standing stationary on her point.

"Where do you think you are going? Leave it now. There is no space for sorry now. It's highly unlikely of us to meet them again."

You were wrong. She heard herself saying, and before she knew what was happening, there she was rooted to her place, staring in the baffled, disgusted eyes of the boy who she had annoyed earlier at that wedding. Aryan let go of Rita, his girl friend and told her to go to class, walking towards Anita and acknowledging Aparna and Arjun's presence with as much surprise as Anita had. Arjun glared hard at Aryan, switching his eyes from Aryan to Anita and then rolled his pupils inside his sockets, while Aparna seeing his discreet attitude pinched him from the side.

"I thought you said we were never going to meet them again. Here they are. AGAIN." Arjun said icily to Aparna, still looking at Anita menancingly, as well as Aryan who he still thought was Anita's boy friend.

"Arjun, c'mon, don't get yourself into a mess" Aparna told him, pulling hard at his arm, who she could move barely by inches, much to the verbal assistance Aryan was to provide next.

"Your best friend there, shes right. Listen to her dude, its for your best." Aryan adviced Arjun in a casual manner, however it was enough to instigate the lion within Arjun who had gotten extremely furious on Aryan's bossy demanding tone.

"You don't tell me what I need to do, Mr.Whatever. it would be better if you handle your girl friend and tell her not to mess around with people's relationships when she does not know anything about them" Arjun remarked coldly, his voice still dangerous, as he with his words was successful in bringing forth the fire in Aryan as well. He took a sturdy threatening step towards Arjun, him not moving from his place instead glaring steadily into his eyes.

"Arjun! Let go!" Aparna pulled at him but his hard form, was hard to disintegrate just right now, and giving up she looked one last time at Anita harshly, and walked away mumbling something like, 'Do whatever you like' at Arjun, stomping off to her class. Arjun seeing Aparna had totally lost control of her anger, giving one hard look to both Aryan and Anita went away to catch up to Aparna who was in a no 'nonsense' mood right now.

"Lunatics!" Aryan grumbled under his breathe angrily, and walked off towards their class followed by Anita who was too fumbily to say anything at all, just having her mind torn to tatters with all the nonsense that had taken place only the first day of college.

Those days. That life changing fight. It had proven so much. Arjun thought to himself, unloading his luggage from the stretcher belt in the airport and walked off to a seat in the rest room, prepared for the wait of another 3 hours at the Los Angeles airport before a connecting flight would drop him off to Stanford. He fidgeted about on the seat, as the tension of going back to memories kept growing on him, over and over again until he was forced to close his eyes in utter exhaustion.

"Appy wait! Wait! Listen me out dude! Please, Apppy!" Arjun kept shouting on her back, as Aparna haughtily walked away and entered the class taking a seat next to a total stranger, until Arjun seeing this, jostled in anger pulled her away from that seat on a desk which had two empty seats, just in time for the Advanced Mathematics teacher to enter.

"Don't give me shit like that, you understand? Don't." Arjun whispered between gritted teeth in her eyes, to which she taking her eyes from the teacher shooted an extremely furious look at him and concentrated back on the lecture.

"You liked that guy don't you? (Aparna looks at him sheepishly) Appy c'mon seriously? Now you are going to do this to me? I know you better than you know yourself, so spare me the drama for heavens sake. (Aparna remains silent) Fine. I won't mess up with him or his girlfriend or whatever she is anymore. Okay now?" he said , his tone going down from non coopearative to a bit calm, and Aparna gave him a queasy look, nodding her head, gesturing him to pay attention on the lecture.

After the class the two walked out together, Aparna's mood still a bit off handed, but Arjun knew she would be fine in a little while, and didn't push her any further, both of them entering the cafeteria, with unknown people staring at them awkwardly, some even murmuring something to eachother most probably about them, but none of the two had brains to bother about these outsiders, its not like they had enough problems on their own. Arjun going off to get some snacks for them, went away to the counter leaving Aparna alone on the desk, subject to many checking out stares from guys, who she was paying no attention too. It was a tap on her shoulder, which made her turn around, seeing the girl who she currently despised to the core, standing over her shoulder, with a shady look on her face. Aparna stood up from her seat, eyeing out for Arjun who was busy waiting for the food, and quickly took hold of Anita's hand and grabbed her out of Arjun's eye view, letting go off her shaky form, glaring at her with a steel look now.

"What do you want?" Aparna asked her raspily even before Anita could say anything, too confused to process anything right that would fit for a good apology.

"I just came to say sorry to you and your friend. I understand what he must be feeling when I taunted him over you being his girlfriend. Honestly there is only a fine silver lining between a boy friend and best friend, and so I just erm got confused. So I am really sorry for that. I would have said sorry to him on my own, but erm (looking in Arjun's direction) he looks like he would throttle my neck if I even went near him so.." Anita trailed off, observing Aparna's hard expression turning a bit sober and soft, and finally the look of understanding was shadowing her features.

"Please. Please don't, go anywhere near him. He hates you and your boy friend, (Anita makes a twitched expression) Did I make the same wrong assumption that you did?" Aparna asked apprehensively, preety sure that that's what Anita's disconcerted expression could possible mean.

"You did actually. Not your fault though. Me and Aryan were both acting like a couple purposely, so well your assumption isn't entirely wrong." Anita explained, her cheeks flushing bright as she went on to tell Aparna how she and Aryan had noticed Arjun looking at her, so they had decided to act like a couple to send him off the trail. Aparna gave her a weird expression at first, but then burst into laughter, making Anita get in the mood herself.

"He must be your best friend for sure then. Only best friends can do such crazy things together." Aparna commented, as Anita looked at her fondly, and when the both were sober an erry kind of silence surfaced them.

"Can we be friends? It would be a good beginning to get things better between us. I never expected that my first day at colledge would be like this. (Aparna nods and extends her hand towards Anita) Aryan hes my bestie my all time companion but that wretched girl friend of his, I swear I hate her so much, I feel like throwing a brick at that baboon head whenever I see her, but she's Aryan's na. I cant harm anything of his." Anita said making a bad face at the thought of Rita, who she knew would be with Aryan right now, up to her no good tricks with him.

"Arjun's a casonova. (Anita flinches a bit now knowing his name) Yes his name is Arjun, and me I am Aparna. So dumb of me to not tell you my name. *pause* So where was I? Yeah, Arjun. Sometimes he brings such low graded junk I feel like vomiting on his choice, other times he brings girls who are players so when they ditch him, he ends up being a retar..d..e..(her eyes popping out of her sockets) Arjun?" Aparna stammered, looking straight into the gloating eyes of Arjun, swallowing a tight lump of guilt in her throat, as Anita spinned around, stumbling back due to Arjuns strong demanding persona.

"I..just erm.." Anita stammered aimlessly trying to make a good excuse and get out of the way, but Arjun turned his rigid look at Anita, blood dropping in to his eyeballs.

"Stay quiet. Nobody's talking to you. (Aparna comes to Anita's defence and looks at Arjun with a rowdy look) God please Aparna. What the hell? Now you are defending her? Who is she? Her?" Arjun taunted in an overly venomous tone, his eyes still scurtinzing both the girls with intense anger, Anita more.

"Get over it Arjun. She came to me to say sorry for whatever happened earlier. So now stop over reacting." Aparna told him in a harsh tone, briefing him over the earlier events that had gone past between her and Anita. She also explained how Aryan and Anita had faked the whole couple thing, to keep him off trail. At this instance Anita started going red again with embarrassment while Arjun shedding off all his anger, smiled cheekily at her, poking his elbow into her side.

"Now that I know this, I'll never be off your trail missy." He told her winking at her, and she started going a red crimson, Aparna giving a hard punch on Arjuns' shoulder and sending him off howling and making rude, dorky faces at her. Anita looked at the two of them in admiration impressed with the easy going purity in their friendship.

"And Mr.Gupta? What happened of him?" Khushi asked curiously, a bitter taste in her mouth regarding her father but she just coudnt help it, her father was a plain disgusting thought to her.

"Anita told him everything, but that didn't really solve problems between Aryan and Arjun. They both kept aloofed form eachother, and until the end, when we all broke apart, Arjun and Aryan were never really good with eachother. Honestly speaking, if there was anything that kept him and Arjun resisting eachother was our interwined attractions." Aparna explained to her, who was looking outside the window, her eyes a bit drowsy now and heavy with sleep.

"Khushi, you should go to sleep, you have school tomorrow too. You can hear the rest of it later sometime." Aparna told her, but she hesitated a bit, insisting that she was not at all sleepy, rather really full wide awake, but Aparna did not give even a little heed to Khushi's pleads, sending her off to her own room, and after taking her medicines too she was off to sleep.

Khushi entered her own room heavy with sleep, however her mother's story was running in her mind in full speed, and eyeing one look on her phone, she dialed off Arnav's number and kept it on her ear, waiting for him to attend the call.

"Gupta? Are you nuts? Do you even have a clock or did you throw that pooh clock in the dustbin? Its 00:30 at night for God sakes!" Arnav grumbled on the other end of the phone, his voice heavy with condensation but Khushi just making a face for a split second, paid no heed to his words and prepared herself for what she was going to say.

"Raizada, I want you to come to that field trip." Khushi told him in an ordering voice, only to be subjected from a loud shout from the other side, and more of his aimless ranting.

"Stop shouting dude! I want you to come, please for me please, please?" Khushi said, in a soft, almost shattered voice, acting the whole thing out much to Arnav's surprise, who was calming down and seemed prefetcly alarmed sensing her pleading broken voice.

"Why is it so important?" he asked her skeptically, his voice overshadowed with skepticism as she hesitated a bit to answer at first, but then seeing no viable option left with her went over to what she knew how to do best, her saving factor-drama.

Raabta

Kehte hain,Khuda ne iss jahaan mein
Sabhi ke liye kisi na kisi ko hai banaaya, Har kisi ke liye

(It is said, that in this world

God has made someone, for everyone of us)

"Arnav? Please? Please? Please?" she said in an overly dramatic voice, sobbing away on the other end of the phone, making him go all hap hazard, and even though he knew she was being overly dramatic, and was faking it all, he only needed one thing to let the decision which was hanging on a thread to fall clear in front of him, and this had done it.

"Okay fine! I'll come, alright? Gupta stop crying! You stop crying." He told her in an exasperated tone as she cut off her drama, wiping away the real tears that she had forced out of her eyes for no reason at all.

Tera milna hai uss rab ka ishaara
Maano mujhko banaya tere jaise hi kisi ke liye

( You and me meeting is like a sign

As if you were made for someone like me only)

"Thankyou so much Raizada! Thankyou so much Raizada! I love you for this!" she skipped about in excitement, disconnecting the call, not even waiting for his reply, and jumped into bed drowsing off to sleep, unlike him who was too dazed to reply, and kept shaking his head thinking of her crazy yet lovable form.

Khushi walked inside the school campus the next morning, asking a few of her friends, about Ms.Anita's whereabouts and moved around aimlessly, finding the real location, entering the auditorium which was crowded with students, getting their names enlisted for the field trip. Stepping in, she had barely taken a step forward when a rough tug on her hand caused her to turn around awkwardly and before she could even comprehend anything she was pulled roughly to a dark shady corner of the auditorium , a firm hand on her mouth muffling her scared cries.

"Gupta stop making these noises. You are no better than a caged animal." Arnav remarked rudely at her as with a tight move she removed his hand from her mouth looking at him icily.

"What the hell are you doing pinning me up like this? No, why are we talking like this in the first place? Did someone mess up your internal system again?" she questioned him back an air of annoyance in her tone, with him letting go of her hand, yet still maintaining the close proximity that they were at before.

"My internal system is messed up? I am pretty sure it's the other way around. (Khushi glares at him) So, now will you tell me why me making this field trip is so important for you?" he asked her straight, tapping his fingers over his thigh, and waiting for his answer which she hesistated in giving.

"Do I really need to give an explanation for that to you? I thought you were smart enough to understand." She said in a hopeless to try to bluff him by indirectly commenting on his thinking skills, but this time there was no running away; Arnav Singh Raizada was in full form.

"Quit it. It wont work now. Look I know this for a fact that you know things that I am sure I should be knowing too. For some reason you are not telling me, and I am not asking you to tell me, I am demanding you. Tell me Khushi." He said his voice not providing any space for breathes space for Khushi, but she knew he meant well, and well using her first name, was something he never did, since she had told him not to unlike her.

"Don't call me Khushi." She said quietly, her eyes cutting off any eye contact with his, in fear that he would read her eyes, like he said he could.

Kuch toh hai tujh se raabta , Kuch toh hai tujh se raabta
Kaise hum jaane, hume kya pata , Kuch toh hai tujh se raabta

(There is some connection with you, There is some connection with you

I don't know how it is, why it is, just there is some connection with you)

"I'll call you whatever I feel like calling you. Khushi, Gupta, whatever. That's none of your business. If you can show no respect for what I want, and when I specifically told you not to call me from my first name, you fail to register to it, and call me Arnav whenever you want to get your way with me, or at other times feel like doing so. When everything is about you, now for a change can I let everything be about me?" he asked her, and everything for a moment went stand still, because in an ever conscious state Khushi knew Arnav failed to express anything he felt, and right now he was doing just that, in a normal circumstance with no one undergoing anything special.

"Ar..(Arnav gives her a shrewed look) Raizada? If you had troubles with me calling you that you should have told me before. I didn't know you were that serious about this thing, so I never paid attention. But I am sorry, I am really am, if this hurt you anyway I had no such intention." She said apologetically, extending her hand to keep on his shoulder cap, but he moved away the moment she tried to touch him, making her drown into an erry silence.

"Hurt? I am not hurt. I have a lot of problems, with a lot of things, and even more than that I need you to tell me a lot of things, but apparently, you are disinterested, and ofcourse I understand the reason behind it too, so..just forget it. Lett..Let..it be..you are after all just a girl." He remarked in a distantly hurt, and non expectant tone, backing away from her and then totally disappearing out of that dark corner, leaving her behind to collect and think over what had gone past between them.

She stepped out of the darkness, her own mind somewhere lost in that darkness itself, as she noticed the crowd thinning away, and even though against all will, she enlisted her name, and was about to go, when a name on the list caught her attention. Looking around she found it, that it was not only her who had seen the name there, several others had, which explained the hushed up tones of the people busy gossiping about it. He was coming. Despite everything he was coming. And it was clear, she knew why, for her. She had not given him the reason that he ought to know but she knew it could wait, just one more day, until their dad was there.

******************************************************

Next morning, Thursday, was a typical school morning in the Raizada household. Anjali hustled about searching for her lost pony everywhere in the house, holding her hair up so that the style which she had achieved after such hard work would not get lost, while Aakash turned the whole living room upside down looking for his misplaced cellphone. Arnav seemed too rowdy just right now, and kept stomping about grabbing his sardine sandwich from the table, which he was eating just for the sake of it, or otherwise hadn't it been for his mother he would have gone without it. Anita Raizada on the other hand, organized like she was, was busy getting her hair in place, and look at the other arrangements of the house.

The door bell at this time of the day was a very unlikely call, and when it came today, everybody in startlement stared at the door. For the first ring nobody went, for the second ring, when the surprise of it had gotten over and Anjali figured out that nobody was keen enough to open the door, grumbling something nonsensical in a hight pitch voice, she made quick strides towards the door one of her hands holding up her pony high, the other free, which she used to open the door.

What stood before her knocked the living daylights out of her right at the moment, when she had set her eyes on the person standing right in front of her. Every part of her was shaking trying to register what was going on with her, as she with one swift move let go off her hair, they spreading all over back, and rubbed her eyes over and over again to make sure she was not victim to any illusions. Pinching herself to see if its real, let out a loud howl, that confirming that everything that was happening was very much real.

Tu humsafar hai, phir kya fikar hai
Jeene ki wajah hi yehi marna issi ke liye

(You are my soul mate, then what worry do I have

This is the reason to live, the reason for which I shall die)

"Anji, who is it?" Aakash shouted from under the sofa, but upon getting no response, he poked his head from under the couch, to see Anjali standing rigidly in front of the door, not at all moving, successful in hiding whoever or whatever it is on the door that had startled her from everyone inside. Walking towards the door, grumbling about Anjali he stood, there just in time to catch Anjali's dis balanced figure that he was supporting, that eventual emotional breakdown on its way. Aakash stood as rooted to his spot, as Anjali was, and it was not until Arnav who had stepped out of his room, moved the door a bit to get a better view, that the two came back to their senses, sharing knowing looks of feelings with eachother.

"OMG! It's Paa! It's Paa" Anjali shouted on the top of her voice, that rush of emotions getting over her as she threw her arms around her father, Arjun Singh Raizada, letting tears of joy cascade down her cheeks, and over her his royal blue standard coat. It was like Anita had heard Anjali's loud welcome, that like a rocket she sped out of her room and on to the front door, tears of joy streaming down her cheeks upon seeing her husband standing on the front door, after what was a whole good 3 months.

"Anji! Let go off him idiot! You are in a good position to suffocate him to death right on our front door" Aakash said slyly, rolling his eyes in his sockets, as Anjali let go immediately, and threw a heavy punch right at Aakash's chest.

"Shutup dork face! Its Paa! Its my Paa back at home, after 3 whole months! I have every every right to hug him, even if that means suffocating him!" she wailed out of excitement, as Arjun moved forward, his luggage all behind him and kept his arm around Anjali, passing a knowing look at Anita who was about to erupt any moment, at Anjali and Aakash's usually nonsense.

"I have to agree to that Monkey Boy. After all my Princess is the only lovely girl in my life who I love. (Anita shoots a knowing yet annoyed look at him, and he walks with Anjali still his arm around her and keeps the other around Anita) You are an eternity of love honey. My everything." Arjun said lovingly, hugging Anita tightly, as Aakash on the corner smiled jubiliantly to himself, and Arnav away from the limelight, rejoiced at the family moment that they had attained after a long time. Anita and Anjali detached themselves from Arjun, with him walking towards his two boys, and hugging them brightly. Once that was done, Arnav and Aakash brought in the luggage with them and placed them in the living room, all of the five Raizada's sitting on the couch.

"You should have told me you were here Arjun. I would have come to pick you up." Anita stated and Arjun explained how he knew it was so early in the morning, he didn't feel like disturbing anybody right now.

"Maa you knew! Its not fair! You should have told us!" Anjali complained, and Anita told her of how it was Arjun's wish to keep it a secret so he could surprise all of them.

"Danm Anjali danm! Paa's here! Remind me to tell Ms.Anita that we three wont be making the field trip. I mean two of us. (looking at Arnav) You weren't making the field trip Choote were you?" Aakash questioned him, and to Anjali and Aakash's surprise Arnav shook his head, not providing any more information about it. Both of them had been smart pants to think Arnav woudnt make it and all that had happened two days before was only Khushi's drama but now it seemed that it really wasn't after all a drama.

"Guys listen up! You all are making the field trip and I want no argument over it. You ALL are going and that's final. Its three days every year right? (All three of them nod) So that's fine. I am here for a good two months now, so relax people." Arjun said in a firm authoritative tone, and all of them knew, when he used this tone there was no denying that they all would have to obey. Anita snuggled closer to Arjun, bidding the three teen's goodbye to school, deciding that she would take her days off until the children were back from the field trip.

At Stanford High the day was a typical school morning, with people strolling away the campus grounds some making their way towards the classes others too indulged in finding corners without camera's so they could bunk boring lectures of the day there. However for the three Raizada's the morning was one full of surprises, all of their spirits soaring high, hearing the arrival of their father. Khushi walked in with Vivek who apparently was with her right now, since Vishaka was busy with her friends for the moment.

"That means he is coming. Chun relax then, he's coming that's what you wanted, if hes there you can sort things with him later." Vivek told her, keeping her hand around him comfortingly and she looked up in his eyes and nodded pursuing no more talk.

"So, you think Mr.Raizada is here in Stanford today?"

"Yeah. Atleast that's what Anita Aunty told me. Nobody knows this except me and her, and now you."

"Well, then how are you exactly planning to get your mother to meet him, considering that they haven't met in 10 years time now?" Vivek asked her conversationally the two still walking the campus grounds, when from the other side of the cooridor they saw the three Raizada's walking towards them, Anjali and Aakash already very bright with joy, however Arnav seemed a bit in foul mood seeing Khushi over there.

"OMG! Khushi! Khushi! Khushi! You know what? Paa's here! Isnt that effingly great news! And he's staying here for 2 whole months! Amazing na?" Anjali voice out in undenying happiness, holding Khushi by the shoulders and spinning her around along with herself, laughing her head off on on her silly antic.

"Yeah that is amazing news Di! Does that mean you wont be making the field trip now?" She said keeping up talk, her eyes drifting off to meet Arnav's which were eyeing her suspiciously all this while, but Anjali and Aakash were too happy to think anything.

"No actually. We are making the field trip. Paa say's we have to go. And when he says we have to go, then we have to go." Anjali said smiling, returning back to normal, instead of an over excited Anjali Singh Raizada.

"So all of you are coming?" Vivek asked them, and Aakash nodded, now his sight lingering off to looking at Arnav pretty suspiciously.

"I suppose so. Chotte .. (Arnav glares at Aakash) Arnav says he's coming to the field trip, I don't know how, but he's making it, so yeah we all are coming." Aakash said half mumbling, half chewing on his words, making Vivek and Khushi exchange knowing looks with eachother, with Anjali and Aakash dispersing away to their class, however for some odd reason Arnav had stayed behind.

"Raizada, actually, ..I wanted to..talk to you." Khushi stammered, trying her best to be steady which she attained by Vivek keeping a firm hand on her shoulder and after whispering all the best parted off in the other direction leaving the two of them alone.

"You knew about it didn't you? You knew about Paa coming?" he said in a firm tone, directing her to the cafeteria where they could sit and talk in peace, instead of here where people kept staring at them like lunatics as well as, in the high pitch voices of the students around them they could barely even hear themselves speaking, hearing eachother was a far off idea.

"I knew." She replied back truthfully, taking her seat on an empty table,t he other occupied by Arnav, who was staring at her with narrowed eyes now, waiting for her to go more about it but she didn't, she was waiting to be directed by him.

"That explains why you weren't surprised when Di told you. So, well have you changed your mind now Khushi, or do you want to go on about playing shady thieves?" he asked her in a non expressionless tone, his sight now wavering off her, and in a little while it was doing what it did to her every time- initiate that shivering effect.

"Look Raizada, it's not me who doesn't want to tell you. Your mom told me not to. Your dad coming was supposed to be a surprise for you people that is why I didn't say anything." She said defensively recalling her conversation with Anita that she had the last day she was staying at the Raizada house.

Kehte hain,Khuda ne iss jahaan mein
Sabhi ke liye kisi na kisi ko hai banaaya,Har kisi ke liye

(It is said, that in this world

God has made someone, for everyone of us)

"Khushi, seriously? You know I am not talking about why you didn't tell me that Paa was coming. I am talking about other things. Other things that you know. About our parents. Their relationship. Reasons about why you wanted me to make the field trip. " Arnav told her in a freezed tone, boring his eyes into hers which were now looking at him searchingly, and after what were quiet minutes he could see that she had finally let her guards down.

"Yesterday, when Maa came back, and all that drama I did. Everybody believed me, when I said you were coming to the field trip. Well, atleast if Di and Bhai didn't, your mother was sure about it. Before leaving she thanked me, that I convinced you to make the field trip, because erm.. she didn't want you or anyone else around during that time." She explained quietly, in her mind processing the next part of the story that was fairly unknown to Arnav.

"Why did she want me to go?" he questioned her, not showing the impending feeling of surprise that was growing within him.

"Because of your dad, and my mother. She wants the two of them to reconcile and restore back their lost friendship. Anita Aunty belives that they both miss eachother's presence in their life, as much as they have done all these years, and so she wants them to be together again." Khushi went on to tell, how the past of their parents were mixed up, and how Anita had asked for Khushi's help to bring their parents back together again.

"Why didn't she tell me?" Arnav wondered to himself, but a bit too loudly, lost in his thoughts unaware that Khushi had made it a point to answer his query.

"That isn't really a question I can answer, but if I have ever meant anything to you, don't ask her about it. Please don't. Not right now atleast, she wont like it." She advised him, deeply worries if he would do anything drastic right at the moment with her around and spoil the already devised plan that Anita had layed out for the two of them.

"I wont." He replied back shortly and got up from his seat, and walked away without waiting for her, leaving her alone on the table to rest her head buried inside a cross of her arms, a big pressure off her head. She didn't know why his mood swings affected her, but she knew she cared enough to have them affecting the way her life was going.

"And don't stress your self out, Gupta. You don't want to be looking like patient tomorrow. It would be bad news for your bad ass droolers" he whispered into her ears, as she raised up her head right at the moment to look into his eyes, which winked at her and in the next fleeting moment he was gone, but had left a shadowy smile behind on her face.

The rest of the day at school had passed really quickly, with everyone of them discussing about tomorrows field trip, and after what was the reporting time for all students was announced, the hype had grown just all the more now. After bidding goodbye to everyone Khushi went home, the day at home passing up pretty quickly, with all the packing and stuff that was to be kept, and her full time responsibility of taking care of Aparna.

It was decided amongst Anita and Aparna collectively that after the children were gone to the field trip, Anita would personally come to pick up Aparna so she could spent the rest of the two days with her. This news, as it was was kept in the dark to Arjun who was little aware of the developments that were taking place behind his back, but somewhere in his heart it ringed all the time, that in the same area was staying the bundle of memories which maybe he had come to take back with him.

************************************************

Arnav sat on his bed, his legs stretched out, back resting at the plank of the bed, his hand holding a smoothened yet frail piece of paper in his hand. He scrutinized the drawing on the sketch for the trillionth time now, tracing his fingers around the girls eyes, smudging the lead of the pencil and making it faded as he did so. Seeing the effect that his tracing was doing to the sketch, he fished out a pencil from the nearby side table drawer and retraced the lines, so that the sketch was back to being normal. He was done with all his packing and it was even late at night but he coudnt help but rethink over his status with Khushi. Looking at the lifeless eyes of the picture imagining her eyes in it, suddenly it looked as if the girl in the picture had come to life.

He flinched a bit, when he caught the girl looking straight into his eyes with an exasperated look. For an instance he thought it was for him, but upon seeing her ballerina white shoes draped in the green of the grass, he realized it was the grass that was irking her. Fluttering her eyelashes she kicked the grass away with her other shoe, smiling a pleased smile to herself, which much to his amusement was one of defeating the grass rather than realizing how she made her pure white shoes all muddy brown.

*************************************************************

It was a poke from his best friend, who sat next to him, that brought him back to the class, and amazingly a bit too early that he realized that the class seemed unknowingly quiet. His eyes opened to full length, for the first time in the last 45 minutes as his eyes eyed the girl that everybody seemed to be eyeing standing on the door, her bag on her shoulder, throwing a most annoying expression at the ultimate stare party of his class. He wanted to giggle a bit, at the girl's odd reaction, but chose to subside that for the time being, as the girl told the teacher of whom and where she had come from. He tried to get his eyes off the silly girl, but somehow his vision kept hooked in her direction, and for some reason or the other, he already knew, this girl was someone he couldn't get his eyes off from.

His mind reverted back to the present as he heard the door of his room creak a bit, being pushed away slightly to make space for his father to walk in. Arjun Raizada walked into his sons room, seeing him lost in thought staring at something on a faded piece of paper and smiled to himself making his way towards Arnav's bed, who for the moment seemed a bit flustered and in a quickened attempt hid the sketch paper under the pillow, standing up from his bed to let his father sit on it.

"Chotte its alright. Its only your Paa in here, not Mr.Barack Obama. (Arnav is still a bit rattled) You don't need to hide your stuff from me Choote, its fine to stare at a paper." Arjun said in a juvenile mood, seating himself on the far end of his bed, pulling Arnav's hand and making him sit next to him, who had his eyes popping out a bit hearing that his dad had already seen the paper in his hand.

"No Paa. It was nothing important" Arnav managed to answer back after some while, but Arjun all the same, picked up the sketch paper from under the pillow where Arnav had so skillfully tried to hide it. Colour flushed into Arnav's cheeks as he observed his father, staring at the sketch in confusion, looking in the bewildered eyes of his son when finally the strike of remembrance crossed his face, and he looked up for a last time at Arnav meeting his eyes straight with his.

"You still have this sketch don't you? Still waiting for that girl to come?" Arjun asked him teasingly, and Arnav gave a twisted expression trying to conceal the hidden rush of emotions going inside him.

"I know who she is." He said shortly, not giving any more information with Arjun continuously looking at him skeptically waiting for him to continue. When he didn't, he decided to probe questions on his own.

"Well that's great! Your eleven year wait did pay off didn't it?"

"I wasn't waiting for her" Arnav replied back gruffly, making a smug smile appear on his fathers face, lightening up his manly, handsome features.

"Of course I understand Choote. My Choote doesn't wait for anyone does he? *pause* So tell me who's the girl? Did you ask her name? Are you two friends?" Arjun asked back excited, and Arnav looked upwards seeing that drip of excitement in his father's voice, highly amusing him. He knew his father, he was more fond of him than he was of anyone, and at times, in fact most of the time he was his only best friend when it came to complicated stuff. His guards could never resist the probing mind of his father, so like every time this time too he had put down his weapons and open up to him.

"I know her name. I changed it to my convenience and she doesn't real mind. But the friend question it's difficult to answer. I don't know." Arnav told his father in a stout tone, making Arjun look with a keen expression at his son, who seemed like he was shaking or was still consumed up in thoughts. There was an uncertainty in his voice which was very unlike Arnav, since well he knew, it was always a Yes and a No option for Arnav, 'I don't know' was a phrase that did not even exist in his dictionary, and that too coupled with the hint of confusion, NEVER.

"You changed her name and she doesn't even mind? You must be great friends if she's okay with you doing with that." Arjun reasoned back still trying to read Arnav's thought who seemed well draped in a mask of confusion to give away any information at all.

"We are not great friends. It's just the way we met. I am not the only who changed her name. She calls me by my surname, Raizada too." Arnav replied back modestly, trying to defend his side of the conversation when his father looked at him intently for some time, and as if realization had dawned upon him his eyes dilated wide enough to have his pupils look like black beads.

"This is Khushi?" Arjun voice back in surprise, and this time it was Arnav who has his jaw dropped open for a split second, coupled with a stunned expression painted on his face.

"How do you know?" he asked in an amazed tone, and Arjun explained of how Anita had told him that he and Khushi called each other with their last names instead of their first names. Arnav listened carefully, deeply annoyed over the vigilance of his mother, which in fact he knew did not come from direct experience, but from his two detective siblings. He was sure of the fact that Anjali and Aakash were filling up Maa and Paa with nonsense about him and Khushi, hence the shocked reaction Paa was portraying.

"Princess and Monkey boy did not tell us anything, so you don't need to grit your teeth in anger regarding them" Arjun clarified, and Arnav raised his eyes brows once again at his father, surprised at his ability to interpret Arnav's thought with such accuracy.

"You must be glad about it that you found that girl and you two even know each other. So what's your next step? Still like her?" Arjun asked in a friendly manner trying to ease his son into talking with him, instead of answering Arnavs face had clouded with dissatisfaction and confusion, the previous thoughts in his mind coming back to him.

"There is nothing to be glad about it. Things between us were good, but this picture it has spoiled everything. Not sure if its spoiled, but things have changed." he made a face, Arjun keeping his hand on his shoulder causing Arnav to look at him with no expression of any sort.

"Spoiled everything? You told her that she is the girl in the picture and you had a crush on her when you were five?" Arjun asked him and Arnav calculated his options trying to work out the best to way answer this question.

"Not exactly. She found out herself. It was she who implied that she was the girl in the sketch, or else I never would have known." Arnav answered back, taking a pause and then telling his father about what had happened on Monday. Arjun listened with full attention, processing the entire tale in his mind.

"From what I can make out, she likes you. (Arnav looked at him startled) What do you make out of it Chotte?" Arjun asked in a questioning tone, and Arnav looked around trying to answer the question. He had not even began to consider this aspect of that event, how could his father get to conclusion's so soon?

"I don't know. I didn't reach any conclusion because, Gupta, she's very unpredictable .She tells me she can read me, and then she does all the things I don't want her to do."

"Chotte relax alright. I understand these things are complicated and you are new to it, so no complains. I can't help both of you necessarily, but I can surely be of some help to you." Arjun offered and Arnav looked at his father hopefully, his eyes going mild, and he nodded his head in agreement eager to recive his father's help. It's not like he was going to get anywhere on his own.

"We'll start from the beginning okay? What was your first reaction when you saw her."

"Silly."

"First reaction when you talked to her?"

"Rude and arrogant."

Books flew away in the air, half of them landing on his head, while the others found their way on the ground, making an alarmingly noisy sound as they hit the ground with a bang. His eyes were closed, and as he opened them, every part of his body shaking with anger, everything was blurry around him, his head throbbing, with the large books that had fallen on him, and he himself, rubbing his cheeks on the dirty sandy floor of the corridor.

"Gupta, you idiot, how could you?"Arnav looked at her, his eyes wanting to rip her apart, as her smile grew larger and larger by ever minute that his anger rose, as if they were directly proportional quantities to each other.

"Oh, Raizada, you on the ground?" Did I make you fall? Aww..I am so sorry I didn't mean too"she replied chirpily with a wide smile on her face, enjoying every moment of the hurt and anger sprouting from his eyes. Serves him right she thought to herself, and not giving another look at his miserable flat form which was trying to collect it self back groaning in pain, she skipped away from there, happy with the revenge she had accomplished.

"Huh? What kind of a reaction is that? You two got into a fight?" Arjun asked mildly surprised to which Arnav explained of their first meet, and how after that they had gone complete hate mood.

Meharbaani jaate-jaate mujh pe kar gaya
Guzarta saa lamha ek daaman bhar gaya

(Leaving us, he did a favour on me

The passing moment, filled me up)

"Interesting. So when was the first time you actually started going soft towards her?" Arjun asked aagain, sending Arnav down the memory lane remembering about that day, that moment, however relating to his dad he minused all the moments, and told a short summary of what had happened, making Arjun for some known yet unknown reason grin.

They kept looking into each others eyes, as if they knew each other from day one of their life on Earth. It was an equal feeling of fondness occurring between both of them, which none would consciously ever accept. Khushi moved her eyes away from his, and looked up the forehead which was bandaged, and since the time she had first arrived, it was now that she noticed carefully, that the cut on his forehead was pretty deep and brutal, spoiling his otherwise, close to perfect features.

Without conscious control, she withdrew one of her hands which was tied around his neck, and brought it upwards to touch the ugly scar which was exposed even through the ill applied band aid. And circled her fingers around the scar, a deep grieved expression on her face, causing him to twitch his nose unexpectedly at her soft touch on him.

"Is it too bad" she asked softly, and this time out of genuine concern

.

"Maybe." He said quietly, losing his brain state to the wonders her touch was doing to him. Slowly she moved a little away from him, flustered at her sudden actions, withdrawing her hand from his neck and simultaneously from his forehead, shifting uneasily on his thigh. Her restless movements caused him to snap back from his trance, taking him a little while to restore his demeanor. As she shifted and backed away, from she unknowingly put a little to much pressure on his right thigh, resulting in him letting out a painful 'Ouch' from his mouth.

Concern grew back on her and she quickly moved away from him, standing next to him, and before he could even react, she started rubbing his thigh, to soothe the pain she had caused.

****************************************

"Thank you", she said gratefully, in a low pitch voice, to which he just nodded knowing of no other reaction to react in such a situation. For one, he had never been in such a difficult situation, not at least with a girl, besides he had noted it down from day one that she had come effect on him that he had subconsciously accepted but failed to accept consciously.

"I am scared" she murmured to herself, which was obviously only for her to hear, but him having the advantage of sharp ears, plus enclosed echoing spaces, heard her.

"Of what?" he asked a bit curious, and just a part of him worried to see her in such a vulnerable condition.

*****************************************

To his utmost horror, her skin had turned faintly blue, her eyes almost dropping low. Quickly he went up to her, and helped her stand up, but due to rapid loss of conscious she was unable to, and finally having no other options. He picked her up in his arms, and walked out of the cupboard, for a few instances adjusting himself to the sudden rush of light in his pupil. Once the blurriness was over, he kept her down, making her sit on a chair, and rushed over to his desk to get his water bottle, while her head hanged loosely towards the left, her body freely hanging like he had left it to sit like.

********************************************

"How did you exactly come into good talking terms with her?"

"The Science project. That's when we had started talking freely, only because we were a team and we needed the best marks in the project." Arnav told his father conversationally, causing Arjun to arch his eyebrows at him, looking at him sternly.

Tere nazaara mila, roshan sitaara mila
Taqdeer ki kashtiyon ko kinara mila

(I got your view, like I found a shining star

The boats of destiny, finally found their shore)

"There must have been one particular moment Choote. I am your father, you can't expect me to not know when you are hiding stuff from me." Arjun told him in a steely voice, and Arnav in quite what was only a summary told Arjun all about her past and how she had hugged him for support because her father had come to her home that day. Arjun flinched hearing all that remembering his own parting conversation with Aparna, the conversation which he dreaded till date.

"Are you going to choose our 19 year old friendship over that pervert's 2 year old drama?" he shouted to her retreating form, and she stopped back in her tracks stationary to her point, but craned her neck back to see him, hope flashing in his eyes but in a moment of truth it was all gone.

"Yes" she said in a thunderous kind of voice, and locking her eyes just one last time with him she left her purse swinging away on her arm, to the car that waited for her two streets back, her soon to be husband sitting inside it. That moment was that one, when she had left behind every happiness of her, for that one happiness which mattered most to her, left behind everything that mattered, left behind her best friend, who she had promised never to leave.

*******************************************

"You never talk about Aparna Aunty and your friendship with her. Why did it go bad?" Arnav probed his father, who seemed lost in thoughts and he looked at him in surprise, asking him how he knew everything. Being as brief and conserved as possible, Arnav told him of how Khushi had told him everything, and that Aparna had been the source of all of it. This sent Arjun to think of Aparna, and consecutively his face went low all the different memories rushing into his brain at full speed.

"Well, Chotte, you should go to sleep now. Its getting late, and you have to be up early, so she's coming to the field trip na? (Arnav nods) Try making the best of it, things will probably get back to normal." Arjun said in a hushed tone, getting up from Arnav's bed and patting him on the back, leaving Arnav to settle into bed.

"Or get weirder." He told himself, and closed his eyes drifting off to sleep.

*******************************************

Friday, was a very eventful morning at all households where Stanford High School students lived, kids bustling about, getting in their private cars or collective transport to reach the campus grounds where the rest of the buses were waiting for them along with their individuals chaperone waiting for them. Khushi bustled about in the living grabbing a cheese and peproni sandwich from the kitchen, fixing her denim brown cap, her pony tail poking out of the gap in the cap stick on. Giving a quick kiss to Aparna and telling her to take care of herself, she bid her goodbye, and taking quacking strides made her way towards the Raizada household, her royal blue and black backpack hoisted up on her back. Panting heavily, wiping off the sweat beads from her forehead she rung the bell of the Raizada house, tapping her light blue sneakers on the stairs.

The door opened, and in front of her stood Arjun Raizada, tall and steady, in his t-shirts and jersey, looking in a fatherly manner down at her draped in a sky blue sleevles top, and light denim brown shorts, complementing her sneakers and her cap. Her fair skin glowed in the morning sunlight of Standford, as she put up her biggest smile, and looked tenderly at Arjun.

"Khushi." Arjun said smiling and she nodded, extending her hand towards him, surprised by his firm shake, letting her inside still smiling at her pleasantly.

"If I would have been a little younger, I would have surely tried hitting on you." Arjun told her in a pleasant way and she grinned at him broadly, chuckling a bit with it.

"Shows you were a Casanova in your days." She commented, winking at him as the two took their seat on the orange cooured couch in the living room. Khushi felt automatically at ease with Arjuna s if she had known him for years, there was a fondness in the way he looked at her, like a lost memory, their was something so erry in the way he touched her, she secretly wished he was her father. Now, if there was anything left, she envied the Raizada siblings, for having such perfect parents, their life was just so perfect.

A little while later, when Khushi and Arjun were having a local chat with achother, Arnav stepped out of his room, in his dirty green coloured bermuda's and light brown t-shirt, his cap very similar to the one Khushi was wearing. Khushi turned around, impressed with his handsome features, and passed a small smile, to which he instead of smiling bag just acknowledged her presence, and disappeared into the kitchen, to grab his breakfast.

"Rowdy isn't he?" Arjun asked her, observing her changing expressions carefully, as she stepping out of her reverie turned her face towards him and nodded slightly, not in for any more conversation. Soon, Aakash and Anjali stepped out of their rooms, completely geared up to be excited campers, along with Anita who was dressed in her informals as well, all three of them greeting Khushi in a jovinial manner. Upon the mention of Aparna, Khushi noticed Arjun flinching slightly, so both Anita and Khushi had let the topic rest.

"Arjun are you going to drop them off? If so, you better hurry, its 6:45 already they need to be there by 7:00 or the bus will take off." Anita told him, and Arjun excusing himself, disappeared inside his room to dress up into something formal, Anjali and Aakash conveniently taking the place that was occupied by him.

"How did you find our Paa? Amazing na?" Aakash asked her, his arm around the edge of the sofa, one of his hands, busy texting, which everyone assumed was Payal.

"Very Amazing. I envy you guys you know that? You people have such a perfect life, perfect home, perfect parents, everything is just so right with you guys." Khushi said in a wishing mood, causing both Anjali and Aakash to exchange looks with eachother, and they both together kept their arms around her smiling at her tenderly.

Sadiyon se tarse hai jaisi zindagi ke liye
Teri saubat mein duaayein hain ussi ke liye

( For the life that I have waited for years

In your company I pray for that only)

"You forgot to add yourself to the list Khushi. We have a perfect sister like you Khushi. (Khushi raises up her eyebrows) Why? Don't you take us to be like your siblings?" Anjali questioned her, keeping that smile that lighted up her features inact and Khushi nodded soberly, no more envious but feeling as lucky as she felt thye were. Arnav from the edge of the kitchen opening saw the loving moment that had passed between them and a small smile crept on his face. There was no reason to ponder over why she was special to him, it appeared that she was special to everybody.

With the arrival of Arjun, the three of them planting loving kisses on their mother's cheek, the Raizada's left the houses, taking their seats in the car like they use to do in normal circumstances. The ride to the campus was filled with laughter and joy, Arnav being the silent spectator to all, and not providing any such entertainment to the rest of them. Entering the campus, what would have been a flock of students let lose, apparently, right now, the ground surprisingly seemed empty. All of them exchanged worried looks with eachother, but the buses standing there, gave them hope, and hurriedly the Raizada kids hugging their father, rushed towards the bus.

"Khushi, wont you hug me goodbye?" Arjun asked from behind, as Khushi turned and looked at him then smiled, running towards him, and hugged him tightly, quickly, withdrawing and waving goodbye, left with Arnav towards the bus reserved for Grade 10 students.

Upon entering the bus, they saw it extremely crowded with students, Arnav and Khushi searching for Karan and Vive respectively, however a tug on Khushi's arm's diverted her attention towards the person pulling who as it was, was Priyanka.

"Take the seat in front quickly, both of you or you'll have to stand the entire way. If you are finding Vivek and Karan then they are in the other bus. (Khushi and Arnav both turn to go) Don't go there. You'll lose this seat too, that bus is jam packed." Priyanka adviced the two of them and seeing no other option, pushing through the crowd, Arnav captured the seat, reserving the other one for Khushi, while Priyanka held Khushi back for a slight moment.

Tera milna hai uss rab ka ishaara
Maano mujhko banaya tere jaise hi kisi ke liye

( You and me meeting is like a sign

As if you were made for someone like me only)

"You two look great together, by the way." Priyanka complimented winking at her, and Khushi giving a queasy smile to her, rushed away from the place holding a weird expression, and shaking her head in exasperation. Giving a grateful smile to Arnav for reserving a seat for her, she asked to change her seats with him, wanting to sit next to the window to which he willingly agreed not saying anything else.

The bus started its journey with everyone hooting, and starting to hoot on the top of their voices, piercing the hearing aids of many students who neither enjoyed portraying such hooligan attitude nor approved of anyone else doing it. Khushi and Arnav were amongst those who did that, jamming their ears with their hands so that the voice would not defect their hearing sense. Fishing out her phone from her pocket which she felt was vibrating, she checked it to see one message received by Vivek. While Arnav beside her, had taken out his Iphone and started reading a book on it.

Khushi had only kept her phone on a lap, when a loud sizzle of cold water being flashed on her shook her to the core, and an instance she was up looking as fiery as ever, Arnav too now quitting to read with the havoc that was about to come.

"Have you f**king lost it! What the hell was that?" she lashed back at the pair of Purab and another kid from grade 10 A both grinning stupidly at her.

"Chill out hon. We were just having some fun." Purab replied in his annoyingly, cheesy voice, making the tiger in Arnav rise, and the tigress in Khushi growl with anger. Khushi jumped on the seat, her knees on it and extended her hands towards Purab catching his by his throat and strangling him like a freed prisoner.

"Gupta, danmmit, let go." Arnav shouted at her, pulling her back to her seat by pulling her by her waist, but she was in no mood to withdraw her hands from the lunatic that Purab was, strangling him more and more with every second, until their was a point when he was literally being choked to death. Arnav with one final pull, succeeded in getting her hands of Purab, her cheeks flushed with red colour, and eyes burning in extreme rage. It was just in time that he done it , when the chaperone sensing the quorse on the back of the bus came towards them, Arnav with much difficulty settling an overly hyped Khushi, and Purab looking more sick than even Arnav did when he had drank that supposed apple juice which was tequila.

"Gupta, what were you thinking of doing? Murdering him?" Arnav lashed at her angrily, making her shake more with uncontrollable fury, her entire body shaking in anger.

"Yeah. Or worst. That bas***d. He has been troubling me ever since I came to Stanford, first that pervertish way he looks, then his even sickening activity, the party feud, and messing up with your health and now this lame joke." She said irritatingly, all of the students in the bus looking at her in a daze, and some laughing over Purab's sorry state. Mayank in front turned around poking his head over his seat and looked at Khushi, broadly grinning at her.

"That was awesome Khushi! Like really awesome! You are so much better at this than any of the boys are. (passing a ugly look at Purab) That pervert deserves this. More girls should start doing this." Mayank commented gleefully, successful in calming her anger much to Arnav's amazement who hadn't been able to do it, obviously because he was too consumed up in bashing her left, right and center.

"Wait till he tries messing up with me again. I swear to Devi Maiyan he wont be found anywhere on Earth again then." Khushi replied back in a revengeful, and furious tone, making Mayank grin more, and fishing out a water bottle from his bag, handed it over to her to drink.

"You want something to eat? Maybe that would help calming you down." Mayank suggested and she thankfully nodded, passing a screwed up look at Arnav and moved away from him to the edge of her seat thanking Mayank for the chips that he passed her from the front.

The rest of the ride seemed comparatively calmer, than the overly hyped events in the beginning, Khushi resorting to looking outside the window, taking time to time sneeks at Arnav who was absorbed in reading, however making faces because she was boring her to death.

"Khushi you bored?" Mayank asked her from the front, and making a desperate expression she nodded, pleaded him to add some spice in her life.

"You in for monopoly? I have it my Mac." He asked her and she willingly agreed pushing her way out while Mayank who was took irked with Samrat sleeping on his shoulder now and then shook him badly and told him to go back on Khushi's seat. Before either of Khushi or Samrat could sit, Arnav held on to Khushi's hand, looking at her with a steely look.

"Where are you going? Come sit back and here, I am not sitting with him" he told her harshly pointing towards Samrat, who seemed ready to pee in his pants just by the angry way Arnav was staring at him.

"Well, you deserve that. If you can't entertain me, and keep taking sides for people against me, then just keep up with him. Neither of us were doing any good to eachother as it is." She told him back raspily, giving way for Samrat to move in who Arnav reluctantly let sit on Khushi's seat, while Khushi in front took her seat, ready for a gala time with Mayank. The more he looked at her having fun with Mayank the more he started going green with jealousy, not jealous of her but of Mayank for some unknown reason that even he wasn't aware of.

"God Khushi, you are such a player I swear. My counters almost empty and I have already taken a number of loans from the bank" Mayank commented, impressed with her banking and profit making skills, and she gave a lop sided smile to him, handing him back his Mac because apparently she had won. She turned around, giggling seeing Arnav miserably coping up with Samrat falling on his shoulder over and over again.

"Raizada, will you pass me my bag please?" she asked him politely yet he could see the technical way she was taunting and narrowed his eyes, looking at her with a highly irritated expression.

"I am not giving you anything. Just come back to your seat right now. I can't tolerate him another minute." Arnav complained to her passing a horrid look at Samrat who had his head falling on his shoulder yet again.

"I am not coming back dude, so forget it. You were boring me to death, with Mayank I am have a great time, so you enjoy your boredom with Samrat, I have no plans of returning." Khushi told him in a sarcastic mood, and he in turn looked at her icily, when she turned around asking Mayank if he had something to eat. Busy munching her food, with Arnav literally kicking her seat from the back now, she felt little concerned fr any ridiculous activity he was putting up. Mayank who was secretly looking at Arnav and observing his indignace smiled to himself, remembering the scene from the project when he had seen the two staring glances at eachother.

"Khushi can I tell you something? One of my observations I suppose" Mayank asked her, once she was done eating in a low pitch voice in fear that Arnav would hear, since he could sense that Arnav was very interested in the talk between him and Khushi. Khushi nodded suspiciously, judging by his tone she could tell he was going to tell her something about her.

Tu humsafar hai, phir kya fikar hai
Jeene ki wajah hi yehi marna issi ke liye

(You are my soul mate, then what worry do I have

This is the reason to live, the reason for which I shall die)

"I think Arnav likes you." He said as Khushi inched back hearing his words, and looked back at a highly annoyed Arnav who by his expression had not really heard anything. Khushi searched Mayank's eyes to see if this was some prank or anything but as far as she was could tell he was speaking the truth, or so he thoughts, because he was waiting for her reaction patiently.

"He doesn't. He never can." Khushi replied back in a low voice, yet a voice that held little confidence, she was forced to think, to rethink, doubting her own words, and for a last time she looked back at Arnav still looking at her hopefully, that she would come, and in that single moment she knew she wanted to go back.

"Why not? He's human after all, and well don't take me wrong, but you are very desirable." Mayank countered her back truthfully and she stared at him with an odd expression, but quickly removed it thinking he didn't really like it.

"I know Raizada. He cant fall for me. I don't know, that atleast what I would like to belive, that he cant." She replied back lost in her thoughts, while Mayan examined her face for answers, and he knew she was just denying the obvious fact, they were both in a state of complete denial.

"Gupta. Please come back." He said finally, now in no more mood to cooperate and in a giffy she was up, helping a very drowsy Samrat off her seat and back to his own seat, smiling broadly at Mayank despite her eventual queasiness. She sat on her seat, not at all present in the actual world, until it was a tap on her shoulder from Arnav that brought her back to the bus world.

"Problem?" he asked her, in a non chalant manner however it was clear by the way he was asking that he was genuinely very concerned about her. She shook her head, half smiling, and closed the window, opening up her hair which most probably had dried now, but since she had forgotten to open them before, she was scared that lies might start to breed inside her hair. Resting her head, against the window, she looked at Arnav half engrossed in his book, half from time to time looking at her, to see if she was even alright.

"You sure you are fine? You certainly look groggy." He asked her once again, and like before she put up a small smile and shook her head, letting him know that she was completely fine. As he eyes moved around to the other students, she amazingly discovered that only a couple of students in the front and the both of them were awake. The rest of the bus even the chaperones were all sleeping. Khushi got up a bit to look at Mayank who too had drifted off to sleep, and even Purab and his giggly partner were happy snoring.

"Everybody is gone to sleep. Even Ms.Anita." she informed Arnav who just nodded at her, discarding his Iphone back to his bag now, and looking at her, feeling a bit drowsy herself.

"You aren't sleepy?"

"I am. Just that this window is too uncomfortable for me. Plus that cold water did have effect on my senses, my head seems to explode from within." She told him in a complaining mood, having him ponder over the conditions and something that he could do to make her more comfortable.

"Well, if you can sleep on my shoulder if you want to. Look around that's what everyone's doing." He suggested, and for a moment her pupils were popping out of her sockets, but upon getting a better vision of every body else, she noticed that indeed he was right, everybody was sleeping on their partners shoulder, it was hilarious that some people were sleeping on the shoulders of people, who they hadn't even talked to in their entire life.

"People. People and their activities. (pointing her finger towards a girl and a boy) Look at them, they haven't even met eachother before, and they seem to be sleeping as if they know eachother for ages." She giggled, and he put up a small smile too shaking her head, amazed by her craziness, and turned around back to look in front, her taking his advice now and adjusting her head on his shoulder, which surprisingly enough she realized was new to her. She had done this before.

"Thankyou." She whispered, keeping her hand on his thigh, him who was feeling very sleepy himself, resting his head on her head, his eyes on the verge of closing.

"Ssshh. Go to sleep now, and let me sleep too." He told her drowsily, before registering himself to the very inviting sleep of his.

Regarding The Title:

Connections- This is purely because the song for this update was 'Raabta' which means 'Connection' in English. Also because you can see very clearly how one thinks links to the other and without this linage this entire story would be just complete. Arjun-Aparna linkage, the four friends (parents) linkage, Arnav-Khushi linkage, the Raizada's linkage, Aakash-Anjali-Khushi linkage, the friendly linkage between Vivek-Khushi. To summarize this update was all about connections hence named it this.

Events In The Chapter

A much awaited chapter wasn't it? I know, marne ki zarorrat nahin hain, the parent history is still not resolved and I intend to do in the nest few chapters. This chapter was vital in terms of the story because of the way its bringing everything to fall in place.

Even though this update had a lot going on, I am already for rants and complains, so please leave them behind in your comments.
