*CHAPTER 7- KHUSHI, ARNAV AND "MATHS"*
Khushi gulped as she followed Arnav inside, and Arnav could feel sweat soaking through his shirt. OMG Was he relly THAT nervous? Was it his NERVES or his excitement? He led her to his room from the back door and he suddenly remembered the time when he had seen her reading his diary. He smirked.
"Hastings, why're you smiling?"
Arnav looked at her, and said, "Nothing Geek. I just remembered some sweet memory of a sweet person."
"Oh." she said softly.
She was about to sit on the floor, when he rolled his eyes and caught her hand. "Geek, sit comfortably! Think of this as your own house!"
Khushi nodded once and opened her math book and sat next Arnav cross-legged on the bed. He sat next to her, with his legs dangling off the bed. She looked cute when she was chewing the pencil, with a frown on her face, he decided.
"Okay, so this is the problem," Khushi said, opening her book and putting it in front of Arnav. He was silent. She frowned and looked up to see a dreamy look on his face.
She coughed a bit to get his attention... Fail.
"Um, Hastings?"...Fail.
"Arnav? Arnav Singh Raizada?" ...Fail.
What the-! She thought. She snapped her fingers in front of him... Fail.
She patted his cheek lightly. "Ar-Arnav?"... SUCCESS!
He looked startled and went "Huh?"
"What is wrong with you! What were you dreaming of?"
Arnav gulped. What was he supposed to say. Dreaming of YOU? "Um, no whatever. The sum?" he asked, trying to ignore the lingering warmth her touch had left on his cheek.
He took the notebook from her and set it on his lap and read the sum. Trying to understand it was difficult, with Khushi looking over his shoulder and that roses-lemon fragrance assaulting him.
"Erm, Khushi. Sit BY me please?"
"Huh, why? okay..." she said, feeling surprised.
"It is distracting!" he blurted out. Oh shit! Mentally face-palming himself.
"Distracting?" she asked.
"Um, as in... You know having to talk to a person sitting BEHIND you...?" he said, feeling stupid.
"Oh kay?!" she said, and came from behind him and sat by his side and peeping into the book.
"WEll, continue" she said looking at him.
Somehow, at that moment, something happened. THose hazel eyes of hers, looked into his chocolate ones and found themselves getting lost. He looked at her clear, deep eyes and couldn't look away. Instinctively, he leaned closer to her and saw her cheeks turning that adorable little rose color. She looked at him with confusion at first, which turned into anticipation. There was not more than a centimetre gap between them. Her cheeks were now a deep hue of pink and she closed her eyes. That did it! Arnav's throat went dry and he looked at her pretty pink lips and softly kissed her there; a short, sweet kiss. Her eyes flew open in shock, and he placed a kiss on her cheek. He withdrew himself, looking at Khushi carefully. He could only see shock writ on her face; no pleasure, but there was no anger either. "Kh-Khushi?"
Khushi recovered herself, and her hand slowly went to her cheek as she continued looking into his eyes. A small smile played on her lips. In a quick movement, she leaned closer to him and softly kissed him on the cheek, surprising him pleasantly.
Khushi got up and walked out of the room quickly muttering, "That is enough math for one day" making Arnav smirk.
