When I read it the first time I already loved it! I had figured the footsteps to be Arnav, but the other things I just assumed to be the pain, fear, abuse and all.
But then at the end you gave your symbolism. And so I read it again and I loved it even more! 😊
I finally got Khushi's point of view and it was definitely not what I expected!
From start to finish, I saw how Khushi had just been immersed into some unknown darkness. She didn't even understanding all the things that were happening to her or why they were.
Now I know she knew what was being done to and with her to some extent but what I mean I that as we all cried for the pain and fear she just have been feeling was not even justified because she had been wretched from the bright world and thrown into darkness she had never seen. We can hardly imagine how that must have felt.
This was a brilliant part as always! I'm becoming sad as your nearing the end... 😔
As a side note hopefull as my gibberish above made some sense 😛
