Part 21

The Real Victims

Anjali was smiling with all her heart. It was her baby shower ceremony.Devyani, Subhadra, Manorama, Payal , Garima and Khushi were with her.

"Mrs. Randhawa..from both side..you are going to get ultimate happiness.. congratulations.."..Devyani smiled , said ,"Thank you all..it's so good to see my kids to be so happy.."

Khushi tried to hug Anjali..but both were having big bellies..so they failed.. every one laughed at them.Arnav laughed but then he saw her angry look , and shut his mouth.Akash was making video when Payal gave him cold drink.

"Get ready, your turn will come soon.."..Akash teased her.

"In your dreams..."

"Arre...!!"

"Shut up...and make video..."..Payal gave him attitude.

"Okay..I take the challenge.."..Akash said with a huge grin..

"So, what do you think?"

"Yeah..nice house...how is your practise going on now a days? Double duty... how are you managing?"

"It's okay..part of life..I have earned enough over the years..I am not worried about the kid's future..it's secured..."

"Cool...and..Di? Is she fine? What did the Doctor say?"

"She is hoping for normal ...but..in case..she told me to get ready for operation ...things will be fine...your will not be normal..I bet..twins...chances are there for premature delivery.."

"Yeah..."..Arnav yawned..

"Have some shame you moron..it's your sister's baby shower..and you are yawning..!!"..Shyam told in a frustrated tone.From the very beginning Arnav was yawning.

"Sorry..couldn't get enough sleep.."

"She is throwing tantrums..right?"

"Very much..I am screwed..totally...her mood swings..I swear..driving me nuts..."

"Same here..."..Shyam yawned..

"You too..!!"

" My wife is also pregnant.."..Shyam said, and became silent..then spoke again.. "Last time I really messed it up..."

"Me too..."..Arnav said.."Now paying for my sins...I really think that she is doing purposefully..."

Shyam laughed.."But I am happy that you gave proper dose to your grand mother.."

"Please..I don't even want to talk about that..."

"So..how is life..?"

"Just buying new ornaments everyday..for my wife..it's her new hobby... collecting ornaments.."

"For..?"

"Gifting our children on their marriage..."

"How thoughtful!!..So much futuristic..."

"I told you..she is driving me crazy..I am eagerly waiting for the delivery..only then I will get some peace.."

"Forget it..now it's one, then there will be three to make you crazy..and little bit of conflict with your wife..and she will say..I am here just for my children..else I would have gone wherever I wanted..."

"Is it?"

"Yeah..your sister has started it already..when I don't listen to her..total melodrama..emotional blackmailing..everyday.."

"Relax..part of life..have you thought about name..?"

"Yeah..if it's a boy ..then Siddhant, nick name Sid..if it's a girl..then Sanjeeta ..nick name Sanju...if it's a girl then ..I may not try again..but if it's a boy..then I will again try for a daughter..."

"Di knows?"

"Yeah...what is your plan?"

"Don't ask...everyday we fight over names..I say Jasjeet, she says Jasbir..I say Randhir, she says Randeep...now a days she is being a great fan of that actor..Randeep Hooda..I don't know what she sees..but she watches all his movies...and when the promos of Jism 2 comes..she just gets crazy.."

" You know your sister is a great fan of Aamir Khan..that day she watched Fanaa..she suggested the name Reehan..just imagine...Reehan Johal...yuuk.."

"You must thank god...she didn't watch 3 Idiots..then it would have been Rancho..or Ranchhod Das..or that Waangdoo..."..

"By the way..Jism 2...having that actress..Sunny Leone..she is damn hot man ...damn hot...I searched in google..her pictures..Arnav..by god..she is bomb.."

" Lucky you..you get time..in my case...I have another Sunny Leone ...live.."

"Who?"

"Would be Dads..are you done with your gossips? Will you join the party please? I am being bored.."..it was Akash..

"Come in...would you like to have some whisky?"..Shyam offered..

"Payal will beat me.."..Akash said.

" So..brother-in-law...when are you joining our club?"

"Club?"

"Dady's club...you tube light..."

" I am ready..it's Payal not taking me seriously..and too much work load..I am going on tours.."

"Arnav..after Khushi delivers..handle everything..give Akash some leave...it is essential to be at home..else he will end up with making videos only..."..Shyam said..and winked..

All three laughed..

Arnav was touching her belly, "What are you doing?"..Khushi whispered.. "Someone will see..we are not at home..."

Arnav pouted his lips..and made a sad face.."Yaar..why it takes 9 months.. dammit..I can't wait.."..said Arnav.

"You are mad...by the way..Di looks nice.."..

Arnav smiled..looked at her with affection..pecked her..and said, " All because of you..thanks..sweetheart..Di is really happy..."

"By the way...who is your another Sunny Leone..who is giving live performance to you?"

"You heard it?"

"I heard everything.."

"This is bad..it was man to man talk..."

"Don't change the topic...who is she?"

Arnav smiled again.."Who else it can be? Who doesn't listen anything when I tell her that I am too tired?"..

Khushi became red.."You are disclosing our private moments..Arnavjee?"..she shouted..

"Now who is changing the topic?"

"Shut up...Naaaniii..."..Khushi went to Devyani..

There she goes..another bulldozer was coming towards him..as usual.This girl made his life hell...

Part 22

We will come over it

On March 10,2012 Anjali gave birth to Siddhant. Yet she was crying with all her heart.Shyam was consoling her, but her tears were beyond any control. Devyani ,Manorama, Payal, Arnav,Khushi, Akash, everyone was consoling her.But it didn't help.

Siddhant was born healthy, everything was fine.He was alright.But the Doctors said that his mother will not be able to give him any sibling.Doctor talked to Shyam when Anjali was taken to operation theater.

"Mr. Johal, your wife had a very bad pregnancy earlier.This time the child and the mother can be alright, but do not even think about any other child."

"What do you suggest?"

"Temporarily we can put Copper T, that will be suffice I presume.Later we will think about the tubectomy."

"Why not now?"

" Don't take decision in haste, when we have another way of birth control, then why take such extreme step?Trust me.."

"Doctor, I want my wife to be alright..anything I need to pay..I am prepared for that..anything..you understand me ..right?"

"Yes Mr. Johal..we will try to save both of them...don't worry.."

It was supposed to be simple, but complications came..Doctors took 5 hours to bring Siddhant in the world. He made a loud cry to announce his arrival and Doctors informed everyone that Anjali was also fine.Shyam looked at his son, his timid eyes, his timid face..then Siddhant smiled a little..Shyam forgot all his pain.

Arnav looked at his nephew, he looked cute, he thought about his children, they will be cute also, he realised nothing can beat the view, nothing can beat the feeling."I can't wait Khushi..."..Arnav said in an overwhelmed voice.

"Arnavjee..it will take the due time..I really can't help it.."..said Khushi..she looked too exhausted..she was on her 7th month, her baby shower was a grand affair..just after two days Anjali went into labour.The tried to hug each other at that party also, but they failed..obviously..they were bigger now.Arnav didn't take the risk of leaving Khushi at home, she might get into labour advancely, Doctor already said that she might get a premature delivery. It was a safety measure to take her to hospital along with Anjali.

Arnav felt really sympathetic, carrying twins is not that easy, for everyday life she was greatly dependent upon everybody, specially on Arnav. But they were still fighting over the names. Often she felt kick inside herself, her face became a view for Arnav. Neither he could laugh, nor he could remain indifferent. He wanted to laugh, but after a second he saw her wincing expression, he asked ,"Is it that much painful?"

Khushi winced more...Arnav rubbed her back..."Things will be alright..soon... don't get afraid..you liked the earrings I bought yesterday?"

"Hmmm..."

"What do you think? Two boys or two girl..or both?"

"No idea..."

"Doesn't make any difference...they must be alright..along with you..you will be alright ..won't you?"

"Hmm..I will..."

" Welcome to planet Randhawa..."..Khushi took Siddhant in her arms, "Your Uncle is a nutcase...don't mind if he says something more moronic..."..said Khushi..

" Your Mami is the real nutcase...we have a tradition of getting Mamis like that.."

Khushi gave an angry glare..."Ufff..I am scared..Khushwant..don't give such looks to the kids..else they will run away from you.."..Arnav teased..

"Whose kids?"

"The neighbour's of course..something you can ask such idiotic questions..I really feel embarrassed.." ..Arnav continued the teasing..

Shyam came there..."Can I take my son?"..said Shyam..

"So..when his sister is coming?"..Khushi asked..

Shyam gave a sad smile..."Never..."

"Means?"..Arnav was surprised..

Then Shyam disclosed the actual situation.."If only I wouldn't have like that... it's because of her earlier miscarriage …"..said Shyam in a grim voice.

"If you will say like this..who will take care of Di?"..said Khushi..Arnav looked at his wife, she was consoling Shyam!Then he realised how true Shyam was about Khushi,he remembered the day when he met Shyam after coming back to India.

Arnav touched Shyam's shoulder..."Don't worry..things will be alright..we all are here.."..and gave Siddhant to Shyam..said ,"You have him Jijajee..why don't you be thankful for that...we will love him with all our heart..."

"Will you ever be forgive me Arnav?"..Shyam asked with a broken voice.

" Jijajee..you are still thinking about that?"..Arnav said.

After Shyam left..Khushi said.."Things will be alright...right?"..Arnav hugged her.."Yeah...you have forgiven Jijajee...isn't it?"

"Possibly, else it was killing me...I was about to die with this grudge..."

Arnav kept his hand on her mouth.."Don't say such things Khushi..never..."

Anjali's crying was increasing on every second moment..."Anjali..just take him in your arms..you will feel alright...please.."..Shyam begged..

"We will not have another child..right?"

" So what? We have him...we will love him...cherish him..we will give him every happiness in the world.."

"I know,how much eager you were for a daughter,but now that is not possible..."

"It's not like that...I wanted a child...I have a child now..I don't find any reason to become sad...look at him..see..his eyes..."

Anjali took him in her lap...she was shedding silent tears though..."We will love him by all means...he will love us by all means...what more we can ask for?" ..Shyam said.Anjali hugged her son wholeheartedly.

"What we could have, that is nothing but imagination..we have no control on that..but we can be happy with what we have..and we have a lot..don't you think?"..Arnav said. Khushi was standing with him.

Shyam smiled...said ," Khushi...your script writing left a deep impact on Arnav.. I must say..normally I cannot even imagine this from him..now a days he is sounding too melodramatic..."..

"Yeah..he is being more melodramatic than me...sometimes I feel irritated..." ..Khushi said..

"Is it? Okay..now I got a nice way to irritate you..I will continue with you..." ..Arnav said with a wink.

Khushi sat beside Anjali..said ," He is so cute..isn't he?"

Anjali smiled.."Thank you..." said Anjali, "if you were not there...I wouldn't have got him today.."

"Please..having child was the joint effort of you two...you see..how he came..in the world.."..Khushi said..

"No graphics..please..we all know..how someone comes in the world..."..Arnav said.

"I was not giving graphics..I know..that we all know,..."..

"Okay..now..you please come with me..leave them alone...come on.."...

Later at night, when Arnav came in bedroom..he was surprised. Khushi was wearing his mother's ornaments.

"What is this?"

"What...?"

"These ornaments..."

" I asked Dadi to give them back to me...my mother-in-law wanted me to have these obviously...if I can collect ornaments for the marriage of my children..you mother would have the same wish to pass this inheritance to her daughter-in-law...whatever the reason may be..but I cannot over look her feelings..you were 14 when she died, she might have thought about your marriage after some years...I know she is watching us..wherever she is..she is watching us..we must fulfill her unsaid wish..."..

Arnav couldn't take it anymore...he hugged her tightly..he thought about his mother..."You left me..I couldn't stop you...but I will not let her go anywhere... for me..for you..."..he said to his mother.."I know..I disappointed you..but trust me..I will never hurt her again.."

Subhadra was seeing them from the door..she came forward...kissed their foreheads...said …"God bless you...you will get all your happiness..."
