Great update... she is ready for an all out war... well -- she should take her advice of not underestimating the enemy... she has her work cut out for her!
Will we continue getting two updates a day :-) ... a person can dream right ?

I loved the karanavar's decision..He knows that one week stay in the nalukettu and living among them, most of Arnav's views on life will change. It will surely be a life changing experience for him.

And am loving the malayalam dialogues. You have beautifully etched the nuances and quirks of the language. Kashi's dialogues remind me of Manju Warrier's character in 'Aarram Thampuran'. As one reader commented, i don't know if any justice can be done to the translations because, all languages have this nuances, quirks which is the essence or identity of the language and in the translations some of it is lost inadvertently. But am glad that i can enjoy the language.

You have also brought out the high literacy rate of kerala and the mindset of people here..Yes..educating a child (whether boy or girl) is very important to any parent. You also had dig at the dowry prevalent in the state. so true it is disgusting when we claim to be high in thoughts and knowledge.

PS: i have never ever read other readers comments..but this FF changed that.('cz never was inclined to and of time constraints) I was curious to know whether anyone other than me is excited about the malayam and kerala background.😉 Am glad that IF has its quota of malayalees. As it is the quote, "Chandranil chennalum oru malayalee kannum'. 😃

Your comment made me smile... the part in red is so true and my dad says it quite a bit ;) (in sarcastic affection, of course).
As for Manju Warrier in Araam Thamburan (as well as Ee Puzhayum Kadannu and Kanmadam), you know, that character in part inspired this Khushi :)

Good to see the mallus coming out here. And yes, please do read the other comments - they often contribute as much or if not more than my story-telling :)

God bless you for being a prolific writer and updater...loving this story immensely.
Am from the north and though i think i am losing the subtle nuances of the dialogues in Malayalam but i am enjoying the background and the atmosphere you have etched.
This really is a stand-off between tradition, old world culture and old-moneyed families who might be down on hard times, up against the, dare i say, focussed on making more and more moolah, new unapologetic capitalist culture taking over the country. My vote goes to Mr. Namboothiri and his daughters, and what they are trying to preserve in their own way while rejecting the nouveau-riche culture pervading all parts of the country.
The city slicker needs to learn a lesson or two and i guess the economics grad will also gain on the way. Simply love the girl and waiting to see what she gets up to.
Aah! Loved the comment on the English language and what it has come to mean in our country, leading to a loss of the mother tongue among the younger generation in many families.

" She had one week. She had one valuable week to convince the rich prick that this would be the worst investment that he has ever thought of making! "
Kashi is incorrigible ... am waiting impatiently to see their interaction !!! 😆
