Date: 1^st July
Time: 12:00 a.m.
Location: Rey's bedroom

Rey was sitting on his bed, a photo in his hand. The clock stroke 12 and a lone tear escaped his eye. "Happy Birthday Baatcutter" he whispered looking at the photo. It has been a year now that the both of them had broken up and he hadn't seen her again after that disastrous day.
After some time he got to know that it wasn't exactly her fault but his. But like we say what is done cannot be undone. He hates him for what he did. He had loved her then and loves her even now. And today, he was missing her a lot.
Rey: Kahaan ho baatcutter tum? Kahaan ho? I miss you so much. Please come back. A million words would not bring you back, I know because I tried. Neither would a million tears, I know because I cried! Please come back. I love you!
And with that he broke down and fell asleep crying a little later.

Flashback:
It was a very tiring day at the college and Kria's birthday. There was hell lot of work to do. Kria was the busiest one. She didn't have time to spend with Rey. Here Rey was thinking that Kria, HIS girlfriend is ignoring him. She was frustrated and didn't think about what she was saying or doing. She was doing something in the common room when Rey approached her and asked her in whispers,

Rey: Baatcutter!!
Kria: Rey, aap yahaan? Kya hai?
Rey: Arey baba, tum cheekh kyun rahi ho? Main toh bas..
Kria: Main toh bas kya Rey? Suniye, abhi mere paas time nahi hai. Baad mein..
Rey: Time nahi hai? Don't you love me?
Kria: Yeh kya love love laga rakha hai. No, I don't love you. Abhi aap jao. Mujhe bahut kaam karna hai.

Rey was taken aback but he didn't take it seriously because he understood that Kria didn't mean it. She said it because she was stressed. But he pretended to be angry.

Rey: Fine, I'm going.
Kria: Sorry Rey. Who main..
Rey: I know baatcutter. Acha, there's your birthday party tonight and you'll have to come with us to the club tonight.
Kria: Par Rey, maa. Um..
Rey: Mujhe kuch nahi pata. You're coming matlab you're coming.
Kria: Fine, par abhi aap jao.
Rey: Bahut bolti ho tum. Now you do your work. Main jaata hun. Bye.
Kria: Haan bye!

That night they all went to the club. Kria went to the club with Shivam. (P.s - Here Rey, Shivam and Kria are all good friends) Kria wore a thigh length black chiffon halter dress with tiny crystals all along the top of the dress. The dress was so tight! It fit her like a second skin. But the way the chiffon gathered together and the crystal sparkled made the dress look so feminine yet sexy too. They were greeted by their friends when they entered and Kria was praised and wished by all.
After some time they cut her birthday cake and she looked for Rey to give him the first piece but he was standing too far. So, she gave it to Shivam who was standing near her. Little did anyone know that Shivam loved Kria and was jealous of Rey. He was always trying to create problems between KriYaansh.
Shivam knew that Kria was sad due to some family problems and also about the little confrontation that KriYaansh had that morning. So he decided to play his card and asked her for a dance. First Kria refused, but finally agreed after a lot of pleading from him. Rey watched as Shivam and Kria walked to the dance floor.

Kria's eyes met Rey's stormy ones across the dance floor as she danced in Shivam's arms. She saw Rey sitting on the bar, his eyes on them. Kria looked away from his intensive gaze. He was burning with jealousy. He gulped down many vodka shots in anger and again looked back at them. She pulled out of Shivam's arms excusing herself in the middle of the song but he pulled her back. This shocked Kria. Shivam thought of this as the perfect time and twirled Kria so that her back was facing Rey. And then he bent down and placed a kiss on her cheeks. Only it looked to Rey like it was a kiss on the lips. He was taken aback. He didn't see more and immediately went away from there. There Kria immediately pulled back after that kiss and slapped him but Rey didn't see that.
She walked towards where she's seen Rey going and what she saw there blew her mind. Rey was dancing closely with that Taani chick, his crazy admirer and suddenly out of nowhere he bent down and kissed her. That shook her to the core. She couldn't believe her eyes. She needed to get out of here, she thought to herself as she forced herself to not run, but walk. At the door she said goodbye to Swayam, keeping the fake smile on her face. Finally getting outside she took big gulps of air. She finally felt like she could breathe again. The stupid music had turned her brain to mush. Made her emotional. Walking down the stairs she asked one of the house staff to call her a cab. That was her last night in Mumbai- her dream city.

Present:

Time: 10:00 a.m.
Location: St. Louis
Rey and the gang were sitting in the common room when they heard a chaos outside. Rey's heart can feel his Baatccutter somewhere near him. His heart said, "She is here." But his mind said, "Why would she be here? Just to have another heartbreak." Without wasting time they headed to the atrium and were shocked at what they saw. There standing in the middle of the empty space was Kria. But she was a new Kria now. She wore a mid-thigh length red chiffon strapless dress that hugged all her body. She had left her hair in curls down her back and her make-up emphasized her best features. They could hear a "wow" from half of the boys present there. One even had the courage of approaching her with a "You look hot!" and "Shut the f**k up" is what he got as the answer making half the people giggle. The whole gang went and took her in a hug. She hugged them all back.

Swayam: Where were you? We missed you. Btw, happy birthday Kiddo.
Kria: Thanks Sammy. Btw, I was on a vacation. But I am back now.
Taani: And that too with a bang.
Kria: Um, thanks. But I don't seem to recognize you.
Taani: Oh sorry. I'm Taani. Swayam's sister and Rey's girlfriend.
Kria: Ok! Anyways, I gotta go guys, see you later.
Vishakha: Ok.

And with that she left. She didn't even look up at Rey once. For her he didn't exist. That day had changed both of them. Rey is a Casanova now and Kria a full-of-attitude bitch. Both put on the best show to be fine but both of them are depressed and hurt. They might show hatred to each other but deep down both still love each other.

After Kria went Rey rushed to fire-escape. He slid down along the wall crying. He was cursing himself for all this. He was shattered, no crushed, no torn it thousand pieces from inside. He didn't believed that his fate could do this to him. Once he used to be the reason of her smile and now also he was the reason for what she is. But the difference is that she is not HIS BAATCUTTER, she is some arrogant and egoistic chick. It was him who made her so lifeless, so vulnerable. "I wish I could go back and change that day baatcutter! Then you would have been here with me."

On other hand Kria's condition was no good. She was driving crazily. She was driving but she didn't knew her destination. Wait was there any destination? Hell NO! Her destination was Rey who left her on this bloody birthday of her's. She was happy, smiling and dancing all around but was this the truth? No this is not the real Kria. Her condition was no less than Rey but worse than him. That incident taught her one thing which she used to hate long ago - DON'T TRUST ANYONE! NOTHING IS YOURS AND NO ONE IS YOURS! She was now a dead soul! She was no more the bubbly, chirpy Kria who used to spread smile on eveyone's face! She was a body without soul! Her soul left her the moment Rey left her!

Both Rey and Kria loved each other immensely. There is nothing in the world who can measure their love for each other but it seems like destiny does not want them to live their life. May be that's why they both are now dead! Ya they are dead! No not them but their hearts! That one moment had created havoc in their life! It was just a moment which changed their happy full of love life into a living hell!
