Part 6

Unexpectedly the day went quite smoothly. Arnav didn't get in her way,

she settled all her belongings in her room along with the stars, Salman

Khan posters and the wind chime. At night they went to meet the landlady

for dinner. She was a pleasant lady. She had a son who was working as a

marketing agent. Her husband had retired and currently they were trying

to get their son Karthik to tie the knot.

Arnav had taken an instant dislike to Karthik, not because he was bad or

anything infact quite the opposite, he was quite pleasant and Khushi had

taken a liking to him which did not sit well with him. And to top it he was

wearing a sleeveless shirt showing off all those muscles like Mr. Show off

Khan does. Yes he is a show off, God knows what Khushi sees in him!!

(No offence to Salman fans over here, Arnav is just being insanely

jealous!)

Finally dinner got over and he literally dragged her out of the house.

"What the hell is wrong with you, behaving like a cannibal. Even back

there, even though you don't know how to smile couldn't you just make an

effort to be pleasant, why do you have to be so rude all the time?"

"Oh yes pleasant and charming like you were right, showering that idiot

with your charms!"

"Excuse me!" Khushi asked incredulous! The nerve of this guy! He is

just unbelievable and he calls me unbelievable!!

"Even now you don't trust me. Wow this is the height! Why do you think

that I pounce on every first person I see? I sure as hell didn't do that

with you. Seriously learn to trust people or you might be stuck alone

forever!"

Saying so she walked off to the house!

Damn he messed up again! He came here to bring her back not to give her

more reasons to stay away! Damn! His anger always comes in the way!

But it was not his fault completely, why was she sitting there "flirting"

with that idiot! She triggered that reaction in the first place.

(He is exaggerating about the flirting part she was just chatting general

stuff. And he has a huge ego so he won't accept his fault even to himself!)

When Arnav reached the guest house he saw Khushi bent over something.

"What are you doing?"

"Making a partition"

"Huh?"

"Iam dividing the house. You don't come to my side and I don't cross in

yours. Right side is mine left if yours. Similarly even the kitchen is

divided. You cook your own meals or go outside for dinner I don't care

but don't expect me to do that for you. You don't interfere in my matters I

don't interfere in yours!"

"I don't think this is required"

"It is, I want some peace and every time we talk we turn the place into a

battlefield. So lets just stay out of each others way. Peaceful for both of

us! Goodnight!"

Nah some stupid lines cannot keep him away from her. Sorry sweetheart

but I will have to break these rules! After all rules are meant to be

broken!

He couldn't sleep that night, it was too hot, there was no AC, there were

too many mosquitoes and there was no Khushi. Yes even though they had

never slept together expect for the few days at Buaji's house and their

last day at RM, he had somehow got addicted to it. He wanted to see her

now!

He slowly crept into her room, she fast asleep clutching onto the pillow

like a kid. The bed was small (it was a single bed) and Khushi was

sprawled all over it. He slowly moved her to one side and got in the other

side. It was too small for both of them to fit comfortably but hey if he gets

to sleep with her then its ok! He kept an early morning alarm, he knew

Khushi wouldn't wake up with the slight buzzing of his alarm, she was a

deep sleeper! He scooped her up in his arms in such a way that her back

and his chest were glued together. He placed tiny kisses on her back. Soon he

fell asleep!

Arnav felt something cold splash on his face. He woke up with a start.

"What the..." he trailed off!

He saw Khushi standing there with a glass of water in her hand looking

enraged.

"What are you doing here?"

Dang! He must have missed the alarm!

"Uh...I don't know!"

He knew that was lame but he couldn't come up with anything else at that

time.

"Don't pretend! How did you reach over here, surely you couldn't have

sleep-walked all the way from your room to my room."

"Sleep-walking...yes yes that's what I was doing!" exclaimed Arnav!

"Then how come I never saw you sleep walking when we were at

RM?"she asked suspiciously.

"Uh...it happens very rarely...like when Iam missing someone at that

time. I used to go sleep-walking to Di's room when I was a kid!"

Hopefully that was convincing!

She was confused! Did things like that happen...maybe! She has to do

something about it then, she can't have him sleep-walking to her room like

this. Today morning when she woke up to say she was shell-shocked was

an understatement! She was on top of him, completely glued to him and he

had tightened his hold around her refusing to let go. She had managed to

wriggle out of his grasp and went straight to have a cold shower! She is

supposed to learn to live on her own not get used to him! Why the hell is

he making it so difficult for her? By the time she came out of shower she

had worked herself into a fine rage!

"Well then Iam going to lock your room from outside at night so that you

don't go sleep-walking anymore! We can't have you touring around like a

"bhatakti aatma" at night!!"

Fish!! Do something do something before you get stuck Arnav!

"No no I told you right happens very rarely. It won't happen again.

There is no need for that."

"phir bhi just to be sure I'll do that. Don't worry I'll wake up early and

unlock it for you." Saying so she walked out to make breakfast.

Damn! He'll have to wriggle out of this situation as soon as possible. He

can't have her locking him inside his room!

There was barely anything in the house! Looks like they will have to go

without breakfast today!

But thankfully Karthik arrived with a tray of food for both of them.

Arnav heard some laughing sounds from the living room. Freshening up

he hurried over just to see Karthik leaving and Khushi waving back at

him with a smile. Arrghh...why can't he leave them alone!

"why was he here?"

"Breakfast" she pointed to the tray.

"You could have made it yourself!" he scowled

"Sure Iam a magician who can conjure food out of thin air!"

"Oh"

She quickly had her breakfast then proceeded to move out.

"Where are you going?"

"This house rent won't be paid with my smile or your attitude. Iam going

to find a job." Saying so she exited the house having a few destinations in

mind. Karthik had been kind enough to suggest a few good places where

she would get a suitable job of her liking.

After an entire day of running around different places she finally got

roped in as a receptionist for matrimonial house. Not exactly the job she

wanted but hey for now this will do!

The only irritating about today, Arnav had tagged along behind her the

entire time, not leaving her alone even for a sec except for when she had to

go in to give interviews. She had tried to get rid of him by distracting him,

trying to run away but somehow he always caught up with her. When

asked he just shrugged saying it's a free country, he can do what he feels

like and she can't stop it. Aarrrgghhh this is just too much!!
