Chapter 4 1980 AD
It was a clear night. Maha Ari looked at the sky ,hoping to see the moon. He was now frail and weak. His age had crossed 90. MA looked around at the room, probably the last time. He had spent nearly 20yrs in this room bedridden. it was an elegantly furnished room. As he lay on his huge bed, he knew it was his last hour. he wished for the umpteenth time to see it all get over. His mind went over the things that had happened since the 'new' civilization had been uncovered.
He closed his eyes. All the memories flashed in front of his eyes...
there was curiosity everywhere regarding the new civilization. India's freedom struggle continued. The most shocking news was the sudden death of Vikramaditya Rathore and Harshvardhan Rajvansh. Their families had to be taken care of. MA would never forget that day. He was sure that the death of the brave duo had occured because their magic had failed to safeguard them. the negative energy which was subdued and kept hidden for centuries had been unleashed all of a sudden. Its effect had not only affected them but the complete India. the partition that followed the independence was proof that it was getting powerful every minute. MA was sure that all those who were in wait for this to happen were now on the quest to find it. he was glad that the artifacts were safe.
Tears started flowing from his eyes as he remembered everything. he felt he had failed in his duties. it was true that he had been entrusted the monumental task and responsibility at much of an early age. Now he had to pass it on to someone really responsible. There were many candidates to take up his post of maha ari of the karmaks. but he wanted his exceptionally intelligent and sharp grandson Vishnugupta to take the post when the time would come.
Someone knocked the door and a boy of about 8 entered the room. he came near the bed and took maha ari's hand in his hand and said," daddu aapne mujhe bulaya?" to which MA smiled and said,"ha vishnugupta hume aapse atyant avashyak baat karni hai, aap baithiye." Vishnugupta sat beside this grandpa on his bed.
MA: Aap to apke daddu ki har baat maante hai na? to hame vachan dijiye.
Vishnu:(innocently) kaisa vachan daddu? kya mujhse koi galti hui hai?
MA: nahi nahi. apse koi galti nahi hui hai. aap hume vachan dijiye ki jo hum aapko kahenge woh aap kisi ko bhi nahi batayenge aur hamare jane ke baad uska palan karenge.
Vishnu: ha mein vachan deta hun daddu. ab bataiye na...
MA: waha ek kitaab hai. wo yaha laiye.
Vishnu brings the book which actually is Maha ari's diary.
MA: Aapko puratan kahaniya pasand hai na? yeh hamari likhi ek kahani hai . hum chahte hai ki hamare jaane ke baad ,aaj se 10saalon ke baad aap ise padhe.
Vishnu: parantu abhi kyon nahi?...
MA: Kyonki aap ko abhi bada hona hai. aap abh vachan bandh hai. aap hamari agya ka paalan karenge na?
vishnu nodded. MA smiled and asked to go and told him not say a word of this to anyone. he was confidant of his decision and his grandson that he would handle everything far better than him.
