Screams were heard in the hospital. Shashi and his daughter, Payal, were waiting to hear what the doctor had to say. He couldn't bear to see his wife in this much pain. Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, bhabhi will be fine." The hand belonged to his best friend, Dilip Khanna.

The nurse comes out of the room and congratulates them.

Nurse: Congratulations! It's a girl!

S: Can we go see her?

Nurse: Of course.

Shashi, Payal, Dilip, Dilip's wife, Naina, and Dilip's son, Arjun, went in to meet Garima.

G: What should we name her?

S: Khushi. She has brought so much happiness into our lives.

G: Khushi it is. Welcome to this world, Khushi Gupta.

While everyone was having a turn to look at Khushi, Dilip had an idea.

D: Shashi, I think it's time that we change our years of friendship into a relationship.

S: Meaning?

D: 20 years from now, Khushi's 20^th birthday. On that day, she will get married to Arjun.

Shashi and Garima look at each other in shock.

S: I think that is a wonderful idea.

N: so in 20 years from now Khushi will be my bahu.

19 Years Later!!!!

Sun was peeking through the windows and she stired in bed. Khushi woke up and looked at the clock. 8:30. Wow, I'm up so early. Khushi thought to herself. She got dressed and headed downstairs. Today was her 19^th birthday. One more year. One more year of freedom, one more year until I am tied down with the responsibilities of marriage, Khushi thought.

Khushi walked into the kitchen, but there was no one there. She called out to her servant, Om Prakash.

K: OP, where is everyone?

OP: Garima m'am and Shashi sir went to the office. Would you like anything. Khushi m'am?

K: Go and get my normal breakfast. Now!

After breakfast, Khushi went back up to her room.

K: What can I do? I don't have any classes today. I can't believe Mom and Dad went to work, and that to without wishing me Happy Birthday. Di hasn't called me, ever since she got married to Akaash jeeju, she forgot about me. Aarohi? No. Arjun. Yes, I'll call Arjun.

Ar: Hello?

K: Arjun, it's Khushi.

Ar: Yeah Khushi. What happened? You're up at 9? You never wake up before 10.

K: yeah, well I couldn't sleep. Are you busy? I was thinking that maybe we could go for some shopping and have lunch out?

Ar: Babes, I'm sorry. You know Dad nah, work comes first. Why don't you call Aarohi?

K: I'll do that. Bye.

Ar: Bye.

K: Hello, Aarohi?

Aa: yeah, hey Khushi!!

K: Wanna go shopping?

Aa: Khushi, I am so sorry, but I have so much work from University.

K: It's completely fine. I understand. Bye.

Aa: I'm sorry. Bye.

K: Looks like I'll have to go shopping by myself.
