Hey y'all! Before you all start bashing me with sticks for being so ate I AM REALLY SORRY! I've had a crazy week and this is the only time I could relax and write a chapter. So without further ado here is chapter five.

CHAPTER FIVE

Kria stood outside the haveli in which her Mom had spent her childhood and knocked on the door. Before she was reluctant to come here because she would have to be away from her Mom but now she welcomed it as it gave her time to think and to be surrounded by people who didn't really care what she did as long as it didn't hurt them.
Kria sighed heavily and put up her hand to knock on the door but before she could do that it was opened by a handsome guy wearing his tracksuit getting ready for his morning jog.
'K!' he cried as he gave he gave her a really tight hug that nearly took her breath away.
'I can't breathe….' Kria managed to choke out as he released her.
'Sorry', he said sheepishly as he picked her bags up and gestured for her to go in, 'When did you come?' he asked her as he set the bags on the floor.
'I just came now and was about to knock before you opened the door, Jay! Obviously!' Kria said exasperatedly.
'Oh, yeah sorry!' Jay said again while he ruffled his wet hair.
'Okay! Stop saying sorry I was only joking! Where's Gina?' Kria asked and as soon as she asked Jay she heard her before she saw her.
'Someone say my name?' said Gina in all her glory. Gina was probably one of the most beautiful girls Kria had known., she was always after Kria trying to get her to wear branded labels and the newest fashion but Kria only wore what she was comfortable in and didn't go further than that so when she looked at Gina this time she was completely shocked.
'Gina! What happened to you?' Kria exclaimed loudly as she saw Gina because this time Gina was dressed entirely in traditional Indian clothes with dupatta and all.
'You don't like it? Pity, because you're going to have to wear it too!' Gina said gleefully.
'What?!' Kria exclaimed.
'Yep, dupatta and all because Nani said that if someone comes with a rishta we will look like freaks', Gina explained, 'It's not like we will have somebody come to our house all of sudden without being invited as a potential rishta, right?' Gina commented sighing.
Jay laughed gleefully, 'I get to wear whatever I want'.
'Yeah, yeah, real funny. Ha ha ha', Gina said sarcastically while she came to hug Kria, 'Did you do something to your hair? It looks different', Gina commented.
'I'm letting it grow out', Kria said.
'Finally! But alas, I can't dress do your hair on these clothes. Hey wait! This will be my challenge! To find out a new way to make us look beautiful even in these clothes', Gina said excitedly while she inspected her clothes.
'Kria beta! You came!' Nani entered with her hands held out while Kria ran into them and felt like she had finally come home.
'How are you Nani?' Kria asked as she got out of the embrace.
'I'm fine beta. How is Smriti?'
'Mom…Mom's fine Nani!' Kria said.
She led Kria to her room which was actually Smriti's former childhood room. Kria looked around the room that was so familiar but still so unwelcoming. As Kria hesitated to enter the room her Nani put a comforting hand on her shoulder and closed her eyes as if to say everything will be okay. Kria nodded and went into the room, while the servant brought in Kria's bags. Her Nani immediately started to help her unpack but when she saw what clothes Kria had brought with her she left them in the bag an closed the zip.
Kria looked at her quizzically, 'Why are you closing it?'
'You are NOT wearing those clothes anymore! Beta, you're grown up now you should wear Indian clothes. What if a rishta comes for you? What will they think?' Nani asked her.
Too tired to argue Kria said, 'But Nani I didn't bring any Indian clothes with me'.
'What is your Nani for then? I already have all your clothes in the cupboard. I'll get something out while you go and freshen up', Nani told Kria.

Kria came down the stairs wearing the Indian clothes and she kept twitching in it, while Gina and Jay looked at her and started to laugh.
'Kria, you came? Come let's eat', Nani said as she bustled around laying the table.
As Kria helped her one by one the rest of the family members came in and Kria greeted her aunt and uncle. They all sat down to have dinner and Kria finally felt like she was at home with a table full of people but the only one missing was her Mom. Kria shook her head and continued to eat determined not to let her worries ruin this moment.

Later, Jay, Gina and Kria were sitting in the empty main hall on the large swing sharing stories about how jay and Gina are deciding to move to Mumbai as well and Kria told them about her stay at Mumbai deleting the parts about Rey and not dancing. Suddenly the lights went out. Kria huddled closer to the other two and her fear of the dark intensified.
'I'll go get some candles and matches'; Gina said as she got up and went to look for the candles and matches. They heard a crash and a loud curse as Jay quickly got up to see what had happened. Kria didn't realise Jay was gone and she was all alone as she sat on the swinging seat.
'Kria bitiya! There are some diyas in the big showcase; the matches are there as well. Can you light some diyas?' Nani called from the top of the stairs and Kria knowing she would come down herself quickly answered her.
'Nani, I'll get them you stay up there. I'm fine!'
After Kria heard her Nani retreat the enormity of what she had just said came crashing down upon her. Kria gulped and looked around her, she could make out some shapes in the dark but otherwise the darkness seemed endless. Kria knew if she sat still any longer she wouldn't find the courage to get up so she quickly got up and made her way towards the showcase.
'Ow! Freakin'-', Kria exclaimed as she bumped into yet another object, finally Kria felt the big glass door of the showcase and opened it to feel around for the matches and diyas. When she finally got them in her hand she made her way slowly back to the empty room lighting and placing the diyas all the way. Kriya finally got to the swinging seat with one last diya in her hand but instead of sitting she stood there staring at the flickering flame.
'I wish Rey was here...' Kria thought to herself longingly.
'Hey! We're back! Oh! You already lighted the place! Nice!' Jay said as he sat back in the seat and started to rock.
Kria didn't respond and Jay didn't delve further, his cousin's thoughts were far away today and he didn't want to disturb her. Gina came in with a large stereo and put in onto the floor.
'I want to see Kria dance!' she said in defence against Jay's questioning glance, 'Come on! Kria dance, what song do you want?'
Kria just replied by saying the first line of the song, 'Silsila ye chahat ka…', and Gina quickly complied.
Holding the diya in her hand Kria starts to dance to the song Ab aaja re mere piya in Indian style.

In between the song, a knock came at the door and one of the servants went to open it and he came back in with a whole group of people and they stood there staring at Kria's dance, Gina ad Jay were so involved in the dance they didn't notice anybody had come.

Kria finished the dance and was facing her cousins who stood up and clapped loudly for her and finally noticed the group of people behind Kria and their claps died down as they looked at each other confusedly.
'K…I think there is someone here to see you. Rather a lot of someone's…' Jay said as he gestured behind her.
Kria looked at Gina, who shrugged, and turned around with the diya in her hand and nearly dropped it. All the lights came back on and Kria quickly ran towards the group who were soaking wet and covered in filth.
'You guys?!' Kria exclaimed as she saw her whole D3 gang grinning back at her and then she started to laugh when she saw the condition of them. Sopping wet and dripping mud onto the floor the group looked ready to kill, when they saw her laughing. Kria quickly covered up her laugh with her hand and composed herself.
'So…uh…what are you guys doing here?' Kria asked them as Gina and Jay came to stand behind her and stare at the group with utter shock.
'Kria, you know these guys?' Jay asked her.
'Yeah! This is the group I was telling you about, my St. Louis gang!' Kria replied as Jay and Gina took in the appearance of the group, 'God! I totally forgot to introduce you! Guys, these are my cousins Jay and Gina!'
The group nodded awkwardly to the two and Simmi whispered to Sharon and Rinni, 'Gosh! Itna cute guy and look at us…we look horrendous!' the other two nodded.
Kria quickly noticing he awkwardness said, 'Guys, how about you guys get cleaned up? Then we'll talk', and led them up the stairs with Gina and Jay following close behind.
'Boys, you can go in this room and girls you can use my room, its right next to it. You guys can put the dirty clothes in a pile and I'll get them washed', Kria said but the gang didn't wait for a reply as they all ran inside to go into the bathroom first.

After a while, Kria came into her room and saw all the girls fresh and clean. Neha and Vishakha ran up to Kria and hugged her hard as she hugged them back equally hard.
'Not even one call can you give to Neha?' Neha asked Kria as she sniffled wiping her tears.
'I'm sorry Neha, actually I owe an apology to all of you…wait let's go onto the terrace', Kria said leading the girls to the back of the room and she opened the sliding door to the large terrace. Kria in all the commotion had forgotten that Rey would be there too so in an attempt to see him she quickly ran and knocked on the boys' sliding door as well. Nilesh opened it looking, probably the cleanest he ever had in his whole life and said, 'Hey! There you all are! We thought you had your meeting without us', Nilesh turned his head and called the rest of the guys to come onto the terrace.
Kria sat on the garden swing of the terrace anxiously waiting for Rey to come out and after all the boys had come out and sat in their positions she craned her head to look beyond the sliding door of the boys' room.
'Are you looking for Rey?' Sharon asked as Kria quickly wiped her head back and shook her head.
'He didn't come', Swayam said and Kria's face suddenly fell while the rest of the group looked at her closely and secretly smiled to each other.
Jay came in with a tray full of coffees with Gina following behind with an equally similar tray.
'We thought you guys probably needed something warm', Jay said as he started handing out the coffees while flashing his dimpled smile at the girls. Gina rolled her eyes at him and bumped him back onto a chair where he sat and grinned at her. Gina stuck her tongue out at him and took a seat next to Kria on the garden swing.
'So, Kria, you going to introduce us properly?' Gina said as she nudged Kria lightly out of her reverie.
'Uh, yeah!' Kria introduced the gang members one by one all the time telling Gina about their attitudes and behaviours as well while the gang members all waved hello to Gina and Jay. Kria got to Taani and stopped short, while she looked at the others for help.
'This is my cousin slash sister Taani. Kria doesn't know her because she left before she got to meet her', Swayam added quickly while Kria flashed him a smile of gratitude.
'Wow! Nice group, is that all of you?' Jay asked.
'There's one more!' came a voice from the doors of the terrace as everyone turned to look that way and Kria stood up.

I owe an apology to you guys and a big explanation…it's just that I've got exams going on but I am trying my best to update whenever I get time…like now when I am supposed to be studying for biology! Heehaw!
