Chapter 7

Right before they were getting ready to go to the lab.

Intercom goes off... "Hello everyone,"

Pari and Geet glanced at each other and rolled eyes simultaneously.

Pari said, "Who is that idiot...doesn't he know any better to be in the class right now?"

Geet replies back, "Well, we'll find out - if he gives his introduction." And both of them laughed.

Teacher: "Sshhh"

On the intercom,

"How are you all doing? This is Sufiyan...and yeah I am the best friend of Maan Singh Khurana...Oh Yeah!"

Pari said with a surprised smile, "Hey! What is he doing?"

Geet raised her right eye brow and answered, "Bet trying to impress some other girl, after all you ran out of the prom yesterday"

Pari laughs, "Oh Common..." and rolls her eyes.

Sufiyan finally finished giving his introduction and everyone present started laughing.

Sufiyan continues, "Well well, now let's get to the point. My friend Maan here wants to give a very very important announcement so, everyone out there please listen up."

They heard Maan say Thank you to Sufiyan for finally handing the receiver to him.

Geet and Pari glanced again at each other as the voice over the intercom changes, "Hey, Look I don't have much to say - this message is particularly for a 'person' and if she is listening right now...she knows that I am talking to her."

Geet and Pari glanced once again, Pari held Geet's hand and giving her a calm smile she said, "Impressive, he is adamant to find his Cinderella," with a glint of sparkle in her eyes.

Geet caught her breath, and sarcastically rolled her eyes, to show her friend, that she least cared.

Maan continues, "Yesterday night I was dancing with this - this umm I don't know why, but I cannot seem to set my mind away from that dance. I just remember her and myself dancing. I have never seen dance some one with so much passion, and fire in their eyes. Yesterday I found the perfect dance partner I have always longed for. Anyways I just want to tell you that...just for one time...may be you can meet me and unmask your face...please, and yeah also you left something with me so, I guess I can return that too." There was a silence all over the place. Geet squeezed Pari's hand tightly as she looked around to see her classmates in silence and all the girls running their brains to see how they can go to Maan and act as if it was her yesterday night.

Pari shrieked, "Ouch!" Geet whispered, "Sorry."

Maan said breaking the silence, "I guess that's it...Thank you all for your time and have a great day everyone...Oh and, if you decide to meet me I will be waiting for you near the fountain in the main compound after school," and the intercom beeps signaling that it is turned off.

After few minutes of silence teacher cleared her throat, "So, let's go, I don't think we should delay anymore. We are already running late."

During lunch time in the cafeteria Pari made her way to their regular table and making herself comfortable she asked, "So, are you going?"

Geet scratched out a line on her notepad and after seeping some juice she said, "No! Are you crazy I can't. Every time I met him till now, I fell down," then she told Pari how at their first meeting she fell down with salad on top of her - than during there second meeting behind the auditorium and now on Saturday their third meeting at the prom, "that one was so embarrassing and I don't want to go and meet him and fall down again."

Pari put down her half burger and said, "Wow I don't know if I should be angry at you or not for not telling me about the first two meetings, or should be happy that yesterday was not the first time you crashed and talked with him."

Geet chewed a waffled fry and said, "Sorry, I didn't think that it was that important, you know I am not dumb-head like Tanya and Sanya that I would brag about crashing into a spoiled brat pop-star."

Pari licked the hot sauce and said, "Oh Common at least you will have to go to get your IPod back."

Geet looked confused from the notepad she was writing in, "What?"

Pari finished her burger and said, "Remember you dropped your IPod and he has it with him right now at this moment."

Geet shook her head as she scratched again on whatever she was writing, "I will think about the IPod later, but for sure I am not going to meet him again under any circumstances, anyways I have to do my chores right after school," and got back to writing as whatever she was thinking of finally struck her.

Pari played with the tissue and sighed, "Your chores can wait. This is way more important than chores and also than whatever you are doing at the moment. Any ways what are you writing, lunch is about to end and you haven't even finished your food yet."

Geet said continuing her work, "You can have the rest of the fries and the cookies too." She was not even finished with her offer and Pari started munching on the cookie. Geet smiled and continued, "and trust me this is important than that, I am writing new lyrics."

Pari pushed her plate away and said, "What? Let me see."

Geet closed the notepad as the bell rang, "Haven't wrote that much yet. You can read them once I am finished with it."

Pari closed her locker and turning to Geet she said, "I still think you should think over it again."

Geet, putting her books and getting some more out said, "Pari, my dear...that was my final decision," she closed her locker and continued, "and I am NOT meeting him ever means ever again," and turned around to crash right into someone, who was going from behind her.

She dropped her books along with herself, when Pari saw who it was that her dear friend crashed into, she let out a low whistle and said, "Yeah, never means never again."

Geet sighs and looks up to see Maan dropped in front of her. At the same time Maan saw her face too.

Geet said under her breathe, "Oh no!"

Her mind told her, "Just get your books and stay calm he doesn't know that you are the girl."

When she looked back at him she found him starring at her and she also starred into his eyes. She broke her gaze as she mentally shook her head and started gathering her books.

Maan greeted, "Nice meeting again," after a pause he continued, "don't you think we need to stop meeting like this."

Geet gathered her books and got up, Maan also get to his full height and continued, "I mean this is the third time we are meeting like this."

Geet said to herself, "Make that the fourth time..."

Maan looked at her confused, "Sorry, you said something."

Geet fumbled, "No...Actually yeah...I am really running late..." and saying so she goes away from there with Pari following her.

When at the safe distance, Pari asked disappointed, "What was that?"

Geet said matter ' of ' factly, "That was what you saw it was."

Pari was about to say something when Geet continued, "I don't want to talk about it right now."
