Part 1: Brindaban or Kurkukshetra

Maan: Dadima tomorrow is our football match. You are coming na?

Geet: no way dadima is coming with me to watch our cultural function. Hai na dadima?

Both looked at Dadima. Dadima looked at Maan then at Geet and then kept her right hand on her forehead and remain silent.

Savitri Devi aka Dadima's husband and Maan's grand father Mahender Khurana were best friends. They made these two twin houses to spend rest of their life together. Dadima's husband was a BDO, after his retirement they came to stay there. Dadima named this house as 'Krishna Bihar.' After Mahindar Kapoor's death Maan's dad moved his business to Delhi leaving one brunch office here in Kolkata. They sold their house to Dadima. Savitri Devi's husband died before that. Maan was in class XI then. He stayed back here with Dadima as he wanted to do his studies from here only and his parents agreed without protesting. After his MBA he went to Delhi.

Maan had a huge group of friends come followers to follow him from his school days. For them Maan's word was last word. Devjyoti sen(1^st Dev), Devbrata Sarkar(2^nd Dev), Mayank Sharma, Samrat Bhattachariya and Aditya rey and Maan Sing Khurana used to be the famous notorious six. From their school days Maan was their leader and now even in the age of 25 or 26 years, they used to obey Maan with out a question.

Maan went to Delhi before two years but others came to stay in Dadima's house as paying guests as they had their job or searching a job in Kolkata. They were from different districts, so they all needed a mess to stay and they chose Adi's Dadima mean Sabitri Devi's house and turned it into a 'mess' by every means.

One year ago Dadima thought to make some use of the other house. She give the ground floor to an ex service man and the 1^st floor for a girls' pg on rent.

But now she is regretting and repenting for that. There were some issues between girls and boys before Maan's arrival but the day he arrived there the small issues turned into burning issues. Every day there was a fight. One day guys had an objection that smoke and smell from girl's kitchen is killing them with suffocation and they are sure it will lead them to asthma. Other day girls are shouting that hot air from the ac of boys' room are burning them like straw, and they are sure it will lead them with various kind of skin problems.

Though it's a fight between boys and girls, it was actually a fight between Maan Sing Khurana and Geet Handa Chaterjee and dadima knew it very well. Like Maan Geet was the leader of the girls team. Others in her team use to follow her without questioning. Though she was not as bossy as Maan, girls choose her as their leader for her strong personality and never say die nature. She hated to surrender in any fight, be it with a shop keeper while bargaining on a bag or fighting over the use of water with the ex serviceman leaving in the ground floor.

But dadima used to love Geet. She was such a beautiful and charming girl, full of life. The problem is dadma loves Maan too, even more than her own grand child. So whenever this to start their fight it becomes very difficult for her to manage the situation as both of them want her to support them.

Maan and Geet started fighting one month ago at the very day Maan arrived here.

Maan: Hei listen miss whoever you are...

Geet: Geet, Geet Handa Chaterjee.

Maan: Geet Handa Chatterjee? what kinda name is that?

Geet: excuse me do you have any prob with my name?

Maan: no not with your name but with your ser name? Handa Chaterjee

Geet: look Mr. interfering neighbor

Maan: Maan Sing Khurana

Geet: Maan Sing Khurana huh... Ye sirf ap ka nam hai ya fir pure mohalle ka nam hai? Whatever, ap apna sing apke pass hi rakkhiye, humare mamle me usse ghusane ki kousis ki to unhe tod ke rakh dungi. Fir ghumte firna bina sing ki khurana banke.

Before Maan could give any answer the girl closed the balcony door with a thud. Maan was dumbstruck. Till date nobody dared to talk like this with him. He was fuming in anger. He was angry with him why he didn't answer her and let her go.

Maan: aur ekbaar mere samne aa jaye fir isse dikhata hu handa ko kaise thanda kiya jata hai.

Next day morning dadima got the 1^st clipping of their fight.

Dadima and Maan were sittin on the chair beside dining table and doing their breakfast.

Maan: Dadima who are the people living in our old house? yesterday I saw a girl Geet..

He was cut by Dadima, Oh Geet yah she is a nice girl. I rent the 1^st floor as a girl's pg.

Maan: nice girl! Who? That Geet? No way she is an arrogant rude manners less woman .

Dadima was shocked, nahi beta tumhe ki galat faimi hui hogi, wo to bilkul rude nahi hai. Bot pyari si bacchi hai.

Maan: pyari nahi nakchadi hai. Baddimag aur battamiz. Waise is she married? She has a weird ser name Handa Chatterjee.

Dadima was listening the adjectives Maan was using for her with an awe and was thinking what should she reply. She felt relieved whan the next question came.

Dadima: no no she is not married. Her father is Bengali and mother is a punjaban and she uses both of their ser names that's it.

Maan: oh so she is a hybrid. I thought she is marred and was worried about his poor husband.

" Sharam nahi aati apko? You are checking on my marital status? Aatehi pados ki ladkio ki info nikalna suru kar diya? chi"

Dadima and Maan turnd towards the gate and for their utter shock Geet was standing there keeping her hands on her waist.

Geet: Dadima aap ye kissi apne ghar me rakh liya' kitna besharam insaan hai

Maan couldn't stand any more. He stood up and shouted.

Maan: o hello madam I don't have any interest in you and your marital status. Wo to you have such a weird ser name that's why I was asking about it. Nahi to mujhe koi farak nahi padta tum married ho ya unmarried.

Geet: wo to mujhe pata hai. Tum jaise logo ko koi farak nahi padta ladki married ho ya unmarried bass ladki honi chahiye... Hei na?

Maan was shocked. He was searching for apt words.

Maan: Apne aap ko samjhte kya ho? Cleopatra? Huh

Geet completely ignored him and went to Dadima.

Geet: Merry Cristmas Dadima.

Dadima: merry cristmas beta.

Geet: ap aj rat aa rahe ho na? I will make cake especially for you.

Dadima: yes I will definitely come.

In the mean time all the guys came in dining hall and watching the fight like a Brazil Argentina football match or India Pakistan cricket match is going on keeping their mouth shut. But in the name of cake Samrat could not take it any more.

Samrat: Main bhi cake khane aa jaun?

Maan looked at him with anger and other guys with awe. 2^nd Dev whacked him.

Samrat: what? Why you guys are looking at me. Cake khan eke liye hum kahi bhi ja sakte hai remember.

At that moment Maan was feeling if he could he would have eaten Samrat's head and he is sure Samrat's head must taste better than any cake in this world.

Geet smirked at him and turned towards Samrat.

Geet: I will send it for you ok.

She was about to leave when she turned again.

Geet: Cleopatra was not beautiful at all. Its Shakespeare who portrayed her as a beautiful lady in his drama. I definitely look better than her. If you google you will get a picture of a lady with long long nose like a beak of parrot or like your long long nose Mr. Maan Sing Khurana.

She smiled and snapped her choti behind her back and get out from their house. Dadima was trying hard to control her laughter and look serious.

Maan shouted: dekha dadima kitni battamiz ladki hai. Apne aise kaise isko rehne ke liye ghar de di. I cant tolerate her any more.

Dev: yes we are not gonna tolerate it. Nobody can't insult Maan infront of us like this.

2^nd Dev: yes we will protest.

All guys gave their acceptance.

Maan stormed away to his room. Dadima got a glimpse of the up coming fights on that day. But what she didn't thought that gradually the fight will spread and it will be a never ending war between girls and boys lead by her favorite Maan and Geet and she herself will be dragged in their fight like this. Now she was thinking keeping her hand on her head what to answer them as both Maan and Geet is inviting her in their respective Republic day celebration and fighting over her standing in front of her.

She had named this house Krishna Bihar. Sri Krishna has adorned both Brindaban and Kurukshetra with his presence. Now we have to wait to know what is going to happen in Krishna Bihar. Is it going to turn in a love corner like Brindaban or it will turn to a Warfield of Kurukshetra.
