so lets rock with the Handa's and the Khurana's

Part 1

It was year 1980 July the students were gathering at the JNU gate i.e., gate no. 3 on the IIT Delhi campus, the new students or the fresher's have just assembled and were guided to the hostels in the guidance of the warden, the rooms given to them were on twin sharing basis, Mohinder Handa was praying that he should get a Punjabi as his room mate and as he proceeded with a heavy heart he asked a boy standing next to him "how are they allotting the rooms? State wise?" the boy stared at him "no, alphabetically" his heart dipped low and he waited "Mohinder Handa, Textile Engineering" the announcer said and Mohinder went to stand near the warden "Mohneesh Khurana, Mechanical engineering" the other name announced, Mohinder thought this boy sure is a Punjabi and waited for him to come and yes he was.

So began the friend of Handa and Khurana, Handa was from a small town HSPur and Khurana was from Delhi it self, but he opted for hostel. In the coming 4 years their friend ship blossomed they were named as 'Jai Veeru ki Jodi' Mohinder many times use to say "I am Jai and you are Veeru" and when Mohneesh objected he would say "friend it is not because I am more intelligent but it is because I will die first" this would make Khurana angry "don't ever say such things we will always live together, remember it"

After their studies completed Mohinder begged a job in Surat as a textile consultant and Mohneesh got a government job in Gandhi nagar, that year itself Mohinder got married to Rano and by the time Mohneesh married Rajji, Handa had a son, Brij, whom he gave in adoption to his sister Sukhvinder Chawla who had no kids.

After a year in 1986 Mohneesh had a son whom he named as Manav and they called him Maan at home, when Rano gave birth to a girl Geetanjali after 2 years, Rajji asked Rano to promise her that Geetanjali will be their Bahu i.e. future wife of Manav. The friends agreed, what else would be better then a friendship turning to relationship.

Handa's sister never paid them any visits and also did not allow them to come to meet Brij, as she was always afraid that some day Rano would take her son back, Rano being a woman of golden heart understood her insecurities and kept clear of her. As the time passed Mohinder got transferred to Ahmedabad and so did Mohneesh again bringing them together. Mohneesh always had passion for computers and the technology was still rising so on Mohinder's suggestion and help he went to Bangalore leaving his family at Ahmedabad, soon he established a small firm KH communications, K for Khurana and H for Handa.

Manav and Geetanjali developed a very firm friendship with each other and both were aware of the future alliance many times Manav would tease her "Geet, just wait till we get married then it will be you who will listen to me" she would always reciprocate "Maan Babu, till then you already will have become JKG" "what is this JKG?" "Simple joru ka gulam" "what wait" and he would mercilessly pull her pig tails. One day too fed of her pigtails being pulled she begged Rajji to take her for a boy cut and from the age of 7 she wore a boy cut style which Manav hated the most.

As the kids always addressed each other with their pet names Maan and Geet their original names were lost in their memories. They would study together and when Manav was giving his 10^th exam Geet would listen to all his questions and help him with the study material, they were like two bodies one soul.

After his 10^th board result Manav was send to Kota for IIT preparations and Geet behaved like a strong fianc, it was then that they were asked to exchange the rings which they gladly did. Once Manav left for Kota Rajji too joined Mohneesh at Bangalore, and the couple visited Ahmedabad on special occasions and festivals.

Every thing was going well until that fateful day 26^th Jan 2001
