Part 13

Chand was in the hall waiting for Hasina when they arrived. " We've some good news."

" About Khuranas. " said Hasina.

" Yes." Chand couldn't help a small smile as she guessed correctly, as always.

But his smile disappeared soon when he saw Sidharth. No matter what Hasina said, it would take a long time for him to trust him. Even if he had helped to save his life. He saw a grave Abhay coming behind.

Hasina waited for Chand to continue, but he was silent. After few minutes, Hasina and Sidharth realised the reason for his silence. Hasina's heart sank while Sidharth was upset. But he didn't show any reaction, instead he left for his room.

' I've to help him. He can't do it alone.' thought Hasina.

Chand started to talk about the information Dhanish had brought, as if there was no interruption at all. Hasina listened to him but her heart was aching for her son.

Abhay had mixed feelings - Sidharth was enemy but brother too. No matter how much he hated him, the truth remained the same. He felt satisfied at Chand's anger towards Sidharth but he also felt bad at him getting ignored.

Sidharth tried to calm himself by walking around the room. He couldn't blame Chand for his anger but he felt the same pain he had years back when he was living with them. ' Did they ever kick out Abhay for going against them ? Then why only me ? ' No matter how much he tried, he couldn't control his annoyance. His thoughts turned towards Abhay, which made him remember Maithili and their final meeting, which led him to think about her look-alike Piya who brought their downfall and he ended in thoughts about Panchi.

It took her one whole year to get over Sidharth, but the pain was still there. After Dhanish, she had promised herself never to love again. But Sidharth changed her mind.

She knew right from their first meeting that he was a womanizer. He reminded her of Dhanish, and she had thought how different they were. Sidharth never hid the fact that he was seeing a number of women simultaneously, whereas Dhanish cheated behind her back. As time went by, she compared them more: how they behaved with her, how they made her smile, and many other things.

Eventhough Sidharth was a womanizer, he never hit on her. He treated her as a friend, more than just a secretary. That gained him her respect. She started liking his company and it increased when he became her fake fiance voluntarily to save her from Dhanish. He even went to the extent of threatening to kill him if he troubled her again. And when she heard him telling Piya that he was in love with Panchi, she couldn't control her heart and fell in love again right then. If only she had known it was only a plan to get close to Piya.

When she came to know that he was a vampire, she was first shocked but then surprised that he never attacked her all those times when they were alone. Why? Was all his good act a plan? Did he really like her company? Did his acting start when he professed his love for her? Or did his plan start from the point where he came to know that Abhay and Piya were her friends? Or was their first meeting itself part of his plan? What was she really to him?

She had a lot of questions and now that he was back, she wasn't going to let him go without answering them. But the question was where to find him. That reminded her that she missed something crucial from the last night's event. But she couldn't figure out what.

Piya pulled her out of her thoughts by shaking her. " Panchi, what are you thinking about? I've been calling you for a long time."

" Oh sorry, I must 've fell asleep again while leaning back."

" Hurry up, else we'll be late. I'm going to wake up Misha and get her ready. Don't want Papa to know how drunk she is."

" Right. I'll be ready soon."

" See you downstairs." Piya left for the big event of waking up Misha.

Misha was having a nightmare. She was running through the jungle, away from someone or something that had attacked her but she couldn't run more fast because of her drunken state. She was running as fast as she could when her leg hit something and she fell down. She couldn't see what was approaching her but she could feel that her time was running out. She was struggling to lift her head and get up but something was pulling her down.

It was then that Piya reached Misha's door. She got tensed seeing Misha writhing in pain. She rushed to her side, hoping to wake her up.

Misha felt the creature approaching her, touching her, shaking her. Suddenly she felt some power in herself and sprang up, pushing away the creature as hard as she can. But when she sat up and opened her eyes, she found herself in her room. She couldn't decide if it was all a dream or not.

Piya screamed at the unexpected push and landed back at the door. Panchi came running hearing her scream. She found Piya sitting at the door, on the floor, looking shocked at Misha who was equally shocked and panting on her bed, on the other end of the room.

" What's going on? Piya, why are you on the floor ? "

" She... pushed... me."

" What ?! How can she push you this far ? You both are on two ends of the room !! "

" She pushed me, she pushed me." argued Piya, still in shock.

" Ok ok. Let me help you get up." Panchi helped her up, checking if she was all right. Then she proceeded to Misha, who was still panting. " Are you alright dear ? Misha, look at me." She slapped her cheeks lightly, turning her face towards her. " Misha ? "

" Huh ? "

" Are you alright bacchi ? "

" Ya... ya... ya. I just had a nightmare."

" Nightmare ?! You almost killed me !! "

Misha blinked at the accusation.

" Don't be so dramatic, Piya. She is already confused. Don't worry too much, Misha. You pushed her thinking she was part of your nightmare. But it was so hard that she fell as far as the door."

" I did that ?! How is it possible ? " Misha got upset.

" It's ok. You were scared. Now get ready, we are getting late for college."

" Ok... Give me few minutes."

" Me too."

" Ok, come soon. I'll wait downstairs."
