Thanks darling for the nice comment. I will give chapter name and maybe a dialogue where name is a total black box. There are some turns and twists coming up and this is going to be a fairly sized FF. I haven't finished the story but writing the climax of next big track. I have 15 chapters in bank and trying to write as much as possible. Got a six month old daughter and my family will be returning back to India soon. Hence, don't know what will be my writing schedule after that. Don't want to break the routine of updating every alternate day.

Chapter 40 – Dinner at Veda's

Same Day 9:00 AM

Everybody was around dining table for breakfast. Geet had spent better part of the morning trying to calm down her erratic heartbeats. She felt shy and could not meet Maan's gaze over the breakfast. Maan enjoyed her discomfort thoroughly.

Geet's breath hitched when she felt Maan's breath on her shoulder. He was standing right behind her while she was sitting at the table. He bent down casually to pick an apple from the fruit bowl. He loved the pink shade as it crept on Geet's cheeks. Still bending down he spoke as his breath fawned her skin – "So Rahul, when am I supposed to take you all for my punishment"

Rahul was little confused. Geet, well just let's say poor girl was having tough time just to sit there. She was relieved as Maan straightened himself but that was also short lived. He comfortably plopped himself next to her and stroked her leg with his foot casually.

Geet almost chocked while Maan continued coolly – "Kya yaar…tum log treat kaise bhul sakte ho…I know it has been quite a while due to Adi-Pinky's wedding but remember you guys made me promise that I need to take all to Veda's as a punishment for hurting Geet that day…kya Geet tum bhi bhul gayi"

Geet looked up to see the naughty twinkle in his eyes. Maan – "Kyon Geet, yaad hain na tumhein…meri wajah se chot lagi thi aur tum girte girte bachi thi" Geet flushed remembering how Maan had caught her and she had kissed his chest. "Haan…Haan na…to thik hai chalte hain…but they have a huge waiting list so we will need to pre-book in advance", said Geet while removing her legs away. (Guys refer to chapter 24, if you don't remember)

Maan leaned sideways to come closer to her and looked directly in her eyes - "Madam aap Dr Maan Singh Khurana ke saath dinner pe ja rahi hain…leave all that to me…let's go this Friday…what say everybody"

Raj - "Yes…that will be cool…waise bhi bahut din ho gaye hain hum sab ko ek saath kahin bahar gaye hue"

Maan asked Mrs. Raashi (his new secretary) to book the table which was easily done once his name was revealed.

Friday evening 7:00 PM

Entire Khurana family entered the beautiful restaurant situated at Connaught Place in Delhi. Geet was looking pretty in a white chicken work knee length skirt and a pink t-shirt. She had a silk scarf around her neck adding style to a simple dress. Maan was wearing a baby pink polo t-shirt with blue jeans.

As they entered, they took in the ambience of the restaurant for which it was well known and had won many awards as well. Entire area was lighted only with candles kept in different candle holders, lamps and chandeliers. Light was reflected by using all shapes and sizes of mirrors cased in different elegant rich frames. Usage of candles and mirrors lent a very romantic and royal hue to the restaurant.

(Guys, Veda's is an actual restaurant which won best ambience award in 2004. Actually there is no electric lightning used and whole place is cleverly lighted by candles and mirrors.)

Raj – "It is really nice…we should have come here earlier"

Nisha – "Koi na ab to aagaye. She whispered to Raj – Next time only we two should come."

Rishab looked at them suspiciously. He knew his friends really well– "God, you two will never change. Just need a chance to romance…isn't it"

Juhi –"So why are you getting jealous. At least somebody still cares"

All are laughing at the gentle banter going around the table.

Maan gazed thru the candle flickers at the beauty sitting opposite to him. He so madly wanted to hold her and touch her. He sighed thinking that for now he has to be content with just watching her.

Geet looked up to see Maan pretty much relishing her with his eyes instead of the food. She blushed and thanked Babaji for the dim light. She quizzed him by slightly lifting her head and her eyebrows. "Aise kya dekh rahe ho?"

Maan puckered his lips gazing at her lips. Geet just smiled and looked down. It was getting very difficult for her to concentrate on the conversation going around the table.

With great difficulty, she finished her dinner. Geet ordered 3 chocolate molten lavas for dessert and all decided to share the same. As soon as she ordered and kept down the menu she noticed the mischievous twinkle in Maan's eyes. "Babaji, yeh mujhe aise kyon dekh rahe hai…ab kya karne waale hain"

She gave a look to Maan pleading him not to be naughty. Maan just shook his head "Aaj to desert kuch zayda hi mitha hone wala hai mishti"

Geet lifted the dessert spoon and took the bite. She rested the same on her plate. Before she could lift it again, Maan bent down and lifted the same spoon. Geet's eyes widened and she ensured that no one was looking at them. She gave an angry look to Maan who conveniently ignored it. He took a bite of the cake and started relishing it. Geet blushed as he licked the spoon clean, closing his eyes and making sound "hmmm…hmmm"

Annie – "Kya hua bhai"

Maan – "This cake is the nicest thing I have tasted…it is beautiful…I love it"

He kept down the spoon sneaking it back in Geet's plate and asked her to eat from the same spoon thru his eyes.

Geet really felt conscious. She noticed that he had licked the spoon so well that it was shining as if there was never a cake on it. She felt the heat rushing to her cheeks just thinking about the way he had put this spoon in his mouth.

Pari – "Arre Geet, tu to kha hi nahin rahi…taste kar na…bahut yummy hai"

Geet did not want to make the situation more awkward and lifted the same spoon to take a bite. She could taste Maan as soon as she put the cake in her mouth. She felt as if she has just kissed him and was loosing control on herself. Maan suddenly leaned forward "Kya hua Geet…acha hai na"

Geet chocked at his words again and started coughing. She was already red and everybody looked at her with concern. Maan swiftly got up and started stroking her back as if he was calming her. Geet felt shivers at his touch. She begged him for some respite from this public display of his affection and Maan relented with a smirk on his face.

Geet – "I am ok guys" and she dig in to the dessert this time without keeping her spoon down.

After the dinner, all walked to towards the car parking. Geet got a text- "So my dear Girl Friend, how was your dinner"

Geet texted back "You are really naughty boyfriend…I am really angry with you"

Geet again got a text –

"Isme meri kya galti hai jaan…saara kassor tumhara hai

Your eyes mesmerize me to look at you

Your silky skin tantalizes me to touch you

Your lips terrorizes me to kiss you"

Her trance was broken at the honk from car. Maan winked at her as she looked up.

Rahul – "Oh Madam kahan kho gayi hai…chalna nahin hai kya?"

Geet hurried inside the car.

Rahul – "kiska itna interesting text hai?"

Geet -"Kisi badmaash ka"

Rahul's face got pale "Kya…is somebody troubling you"

Geet suddenly realized what she said. "Arre nahin…mera matlab, Pinky ka text hai…she was just teasing me about something. By the way I can look after my interest...hmmm"

Rahul – "Off course you can…who can forget about that Dev and Abhay fiasco"

Maan's interest was suddenly piqued. "What…who are Dev and Abhay"

Rahul – "Oh her old fans…you don't know the story. You know this Dev, he had crush on Geet. One day he mixed…." Rahul proceeded to tell Maan the story (Guys, it is on chapter 14, so I am not repeating.

Geet noticed as Maan's knuckles went white with anger. He felt like punching Dev on his face as he heard the story. Even the thought of Geet taking care of the ba***** could not relieve him of the fury he was feeling inside him.

Later in the night

Ring…Ring

Maan wondered who called him so late. His faced tense seeing Geet's number.

"Kya hua Mishti…Neend nahin aa rahi hai jaan?"

Geet felt his racing heartbeat and guessed he was doing a workout.

"Hmmm…kya kar rahe ho itni raat ko...woh punching bag hai, Dev ka chaera nahin…bahut raat ho gayi hai…so jao na"

Maan looked around. Geet sensed his silence and shuffling.

"I don't need to be there to know ki aap kya kar rahe ho…bahut gussa hote ho aap…chado na…it happened a long time back"

"I can't bear the thought of somebody touching you"

"I didn't let him…ab seriously my over zealous, possessive, darling boyfriend…so jao aur mujhe bhi sone do"

Maan sighed and walked to his room. They talked for some more time till Geet was sure he was calm. Slowly, they both drifted to sleep with their phones on their hearts listening to other's heartbeats.
