but the SR fan in me is still there who believes tht Sid can truly be happy with Riddhima and I hate myself for that
Oh Zarqu I totally agree!!
In fact sometimes I think Sid can ONLY be happy with Ridhimma cos he loved her so much!!
And I hate her and myself for that!
Thats the worst part of it all I guess..

Hey guys ...hope no one gets offended with my post. Just putting forth my opinion. ...liked reading all your posts but I differ with you guys on one point here...hope you dont mind me saying this.

It is true that when Sid fell in love with Riddhima he changed...he changed as a person, he became more mature and more sensitive towards others and their feelings, he started taking life seriously.
Even In the beginning, he had hated Riddhima and had not even given her a second glance. But when he saw her pain, her agony, when he saw how troubled she was, that is when his perception towards her and towards life in general changed.
He realized that there is more seriousness to life that he doesnt know about...
That is when he realized that even though he hated Riddhima lot, she was still a person who had feelings, she was still a person who was going through pain...
His opinion of her changed when he saw love in her eyes for Armaan... he realized that as cold and heartless as she seemed, she could love a person that much too.
He saw how she gradually accepted her fact and tried to move on in life.
And after all that, he fell in love with her.

His first love was Tammana who had never reciprocated his feelings...but who he truly fell in love with was Riddhima. Now lets reverse the situation...

Imagine this scenario... if it had been some else in Riddhima's place...for example lets assume AR had been together and had not got separated due to that terrorist attack, and then imagine Sid come to Sanjeevani, meeting Riddhima and falling in love with her.(as had happened with Tamanna initially) Obviously it would be one sided as she would never reciprocate it (as Tammana had initially)...and then imagine him meeting Tamanna in a different avatar...not like the innocent happy girl that she really was, but as a bitter person who had gone through a lot of pain and betrayal in her life(like Riddhima had), imagine them hating each other and all (like SR had)...and then somehow Sid gets to see how much pain Tamanna has bottled up inside her...and that changes him and his thinking.(like it happened with Riddhima)
And imagine the whole SR story repeating with Sid and Tamanna - from hatred to tolerance to friends to love...and the marriage too.

If we see imagine such a scenario with Tamanna or say other girl, I can still Sid changing ...yes Riddhima was a catalyst for him to change but even if it would have been someone else in her place, he would have still changed...why?

Because he always had it in him...yes he was a carefree brat but somewhere inside him the mature Sid existed too. He just needed to be brought out ...and in the show Riddhima brought him out but I firmly believe that anybody else could have also done that...even if Riddhima hadnt come along in his life, someone else or some life altering event would have changed him into that wonderful man that he had matured into.
That was something Riddhima never had in her...the ability to change and become responsible and a big heart to put others feelings and happiness before her own.

Sid changed because he had that sensitivity in him...and no I dont believe that Riddhima completes him.
It is Sid who completes Riddhima because the peace that she felt with Sid never existed in her relationship with Armaan.
Sid can happily live alone all his life knowing his loves ones are happy but Riddhima cant...

It is true that what SR shared was simply too deep and intense to be overlooked...that is exactly why I will always hate Riddhima for terming it as "farz". She said it so easily to Armaan that day in the locker room not even aware that Sid's world was being ripped apart into pieces at hearing those words.I so wanted to bang her head on the lockers when I watched the scene.
So really in my eyes a woman like that doesnt deserve a man like Sid.

I am really sorry guys if I offended anyone..I didnt mean to. I am not speaking as a SidShi fan or anything...I was a SR fan too once...I am just seeing things neutrally from Sid's perspective.😊

On a completely different note, Sid really makes me want to cry my eyes out sometimes. I hate KW for doing such a fine and brilliant job with this fictional character and making him so real.

Wonderful perspective Sidra!! N yes I agree with you too that anyone, any life altering incident in Sid's life would have brought about the change in him.. Its just all our misfortunes, especially Sid's, that in the original storyline, it was Riddhima..
And the one and only reason why any of us are tolerating Riddhima is because Sid loved her and thats the only good thing about her.. Again, I agree that Riddhima does not complete Sid and Sid could very well live his life as you said, knowing that his loved ones are happy.. Even in the FF, he's engaged to Neha because his parents want him to.. and also, because of his protective instincts towards Neha..
Will be back to complete the comment.. Got to rush now...
I'm back.. So as I was saying, I agree that it is not Riddhima who completes Sid but Sid who completes Riddhima but the only reason most of us SR fans still look towards an SR ending is simply because Sid's love was too painfully beautiful and perfect an emotion to go unrequited.. Its the die hard optimists and romantics in us that refuse to believe that something so divine could go unrecognized.. What the CVs did to the story line was abominable.. What SR writers try to do is rectify a mistake that shouldn't have happened in the first place.. As SR writers, we chose not to believe what happened and weave a fantasy of our own.. As much as we hate Riddhima, we love the SR lovestory and magic and unfortunately, Riddhima is an integral part of it..
N the blame for all the pain that we feel should actually go to Karan Wahi coz its he who played the character of Siddhant Modi to such heart touching perfection that even months after the show going off air, we are still trying to make amends to the injustice metted out to his character..

Neets wat an awesome update. My heart bleeds red when I see Sid in so much pain like this. How can this woman hurt such a man with the most beautiful heart possible. I get to the point where I want to slap her so hard that she wont b able to say Armaan for a lifetime !!!!!!!!!!!😡 I wont go on about her farz cos most ppl here noe what I think about her farz and what she can do with it. She has managed to destroy everything that marriage and love stood for. I dont even want to be in the same room as her and I definitely dont want anyone to think that all married woman behave in such a manner that she did. She disgusts me as a married woman myself.
I do however agree with Sidsk. 👏👏 Absolutely awesome reply. there is not one thing that I wud change. It is most definitely Sid that completes Ridz . DEFINITELY NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.
God I hope no man ever has the misfortune to hav such a woman in his life. 👎🏼

PART 5
Recap : Sid is on his way back to Mumbai and is recollecting how the court had ordered Riddhima and him to live together for 4 more months and what happened during those 4 months.
Every Wednesday evening, they would attend counseling sessions and every Sunday afternoon they had therapy sessions. Sid went for each of them with a closed mindset. Nothing and none could make their marriage work. All this was just to convince the jury. So he listened to the counselors and therapists dispassionately as they droned on and on about the importance of marriage, how to make it work, how important understanding and space were just as were love, trust and intimacy. Occasionally, they had had group therapy sessions where they met with other troubled couples who had all the trouble in the world between them and they were made to listen to their problems and speak about their own problems ' during which time Sid and Riddhima had always remain silent. No matter how hard their therapist tried, they had not spoken of their problems beyond what they had been taught by their lawyers. They had individual sessions too where they had individually seen psychiatrists and therapists. Sid had approached these sessions with the same closed mentality and had revealed to them just the same as what he had said in court. They had been given stuff to do together too, trust building exercises and things of that sort, which he'd completed as mere tasks without actually involving himself in it. It had been really difficult for him, torturous but Sid had no hope left in him for things to work out so he had not made the slightest effort. But he did realize that try as he might, he could not kill his feelings for Riddhima - He still loved her from every corner of his shattered heart and he still cared for her, he longed to have her look at him and smile or fight or do anything at all, he longed to hold her in his arms and that she was, is and would always remain the only woman he truly, madly, deeply loved - and that realization made it all the more painful for him to go through what he had been through. Inadvertently, he would always find himself looking at her, thinking of her or missing her. It had taken everything he had in him, every single ounce of strength, not to burst out, react and let out all the frustration and pain that had built up in him. Somehow he had managed to get through the four months and they had filed for divorce again. He still remembered that night clearly.

Sid had been out finishing his farewell dinner with his friends from work when he'd seen Armaan and Riddhima walk into the same restaurant. He had been sitting further away from them so they hadn't seen him. His eyes, however, had been drawn to Riddhima and he noticed how beautiful she looked. Not wanting to torture himself, he had suggested to his friends that it was time they left. Just as they were about to leave after paying the bill, the restaurant had erupted into applause and intrigued by what had caused the applause, they made their way through the crowd and Sid had seen Armaan down on his knee, ring in hand, proposing Riddhima for marriage. Riddhima's eyes were moist with tears and knowing that it would be more than he could take to actually see Riddhima accepting Armaan's proposal, he had left the restaurant with friends. The very next day, by the morning flight, Sid had returned to the US. His lawyers had informed him that he would not be required to be present at the second round of trials because he had already been there once and this time round, the trial would be a mere formality. As it is, it would take some time for the court to get to their case but once it did, it was just a matter of one hearing and divorce would be granted. However, life had other plans for him and that was why he was on this plane that would take him back to the one place on earth he never wanted to go again ' Mumbai.

As Sid stepped out of the cab, he felt his heart pound heavily. A lump formed in his throat and he swallowed to get it to go away. Ever so slowly, trying to delay it as much as possible, he turned. Sanjeevani. He'd never wanted to set foot here ever again. This was the place that had given him the most beautiful, most painful memories of his life, that had given him the one and only love of his love and snatched it away too. Letting out a deep breath and steeling himself against what he was about to face, Sid grabbed his luggage, paid the cab driver and walked towards the building.

He hadn't checked into his hotel, he hadn't changed. He had come here straight from the airport as soon as he landed because he knew, after listening to that voicemail, he could not rest until he came here and saw for himself.

Every step he took seemed like a mile to him. He passed the familiar corridor, the locker room but now, looking at the locker room, he did not have any happy memories. All he remembered was Riddhima telling Armaan that Armaan was her love and Sid was her duty. He made his way past the reception desk not really looking at anything around him. A couple of familiar faces stopped to look at him but he acknowledged no one. After what seemed like miles, he finally reached where he had to. He took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

Voice : Come in..

Sid grabbed the handle, pushed the door and stepped in.

Sid : May I come in Sir?

The person sitting at the desk raised his head and immediately the eyes widened in recognition and just as quickly, they filled with tears.

Shashank : Siddhant..

Sid had always held Dr. Shashank in high esteem. But today, he looked a tired, defeated man and it pained Sid to see him like that.

Sid : Sir..

Shashank came around his desk and hugged Sid.

Shashank : Kaise ho Siddhant?

Sid : Main theek hoon Da.. (He caught himself before he said Dad) Sir.. Aur.. aap?

Shashank (crying now) : Kuch theek nahi hai Siddhant. Tumhe.. Kya.. Kya.. tum..?

Sid nodded. They both fell silent.

Sid : Sir wo..

Unsure of how to frame the question, Sid left it mid sentence but Shashank understood and he patted Sid's shoulder.

Shashank : Chalo mere saath.

Sid grabbed his bags and started to follow Dr. Shashank.

Shashank : You can leave your bags here.

Sid left his bags next to the door and followed Dr. Shashank out of the cabin. Dr. Shashank led him back to the reception area. Sid's gaze immediately rested on something. At the end of the hallway, perched on a table was a blown up photograph ' a photograph of a person who would, for some unknown reason, always be special to him in spite of everything that had happened between them. It pained him greatly and Sid fought his tears as his eyes roamed over the photograph. He swallowed around the lump in his throat and let out a breath he did not know he had been holding. It did not help. He closed his eyes and a tear trickled down his eyes. Dr. Shashank gently placed his hand on Sid's shoulder and even though he had his eyes closed, he could feel the shiver in Dr. Shashank's hands and knew that he was trying to stifle his sobs too.

Sid opened his eyes and walked over to the photo. He gently touched the garland that adorned the photo. Those eyes would never twinkle with mischief again, that face would never break into a smile again. Death had a painful finality to it.

Sid turned away from the photograph but the image did not leave his eyes. He did not think it would hurt him so much, that it would pain him so much but it did. Dr. Shashank gently placed a hand on his shoulder and as Sid turned to face him, he saw grief, defeat and pain welling up in the form of tears in those eyes. Those eyes had, over the years, seen death in every single form possible. They were doctors. They dealt with death on a day-to-day basis. Yet, death was something you could never get used to and especially, when it was someone so close to you, you'd known so well, who'd been a part of your life. Sid looked at Dr. Shashank and without uttering a single word, Dr. Shashank understood the question in his eyes. With a final backward glance at the smiling face in the photograph, Sid and Shashank made their way towards the ICU wing of the hospital.

As they approached the ICU, Sid felt his footsteps falter. He did know if he was ready for this. After what he had just seen and been through, he did not know if he had it in him. He dragged his feet the last few steps and stopped in front of the door that Dr. Shashank indicated. Through the glass window, he mustered all his courage to peek in. A limp, almost lifeless form lay on the bed connected to a dozen wires. Sid tore his eyes away from the form. He simply had nothing left in him for anyone. His eyes immediately fell on JP and Jiggy. He remembered the times when JP would come running to him and jump onto him to welcome him back with his characteristically loud "Sid bhaiyya" that would ring in everyone's ears for long moments after. But today, there was no smiling, no hugging, no jumping and no "Sid bhaiyya." After long moments, JP finally came forward and wordlessly hugged Sid and cried. Jiggy tried hard to not show his tears but they managed to escape anyhow.

Hours later, Sid lay in bed in his hotel room. Going back to his house was too painful and he did not need that pain to add what he was going through right now. His mind went back to the events of the day.

Dr. Shashank had taken him back to his cabin and had asked him to sit down. The stresses, the pain of the past few days were clearly etched on his face.

Shashank : It was a major accident.

Sid tried to zone out Dr. Shashank's voice. He did not want to hear anything. He wasn't here for this. Actually, he did not even know why he came here. He only knew he had to.

Shashank : They were both there. Only one of them made it through.
