Niru set his clothes on the bed and went outside the room. When she reached the hall, she heard a loud noise in the bedroom and then heard prem crying loudly. She rushed back to the room to see what happened.
Shilpa reached the room before Niru since she was in the next room. Prem had tried to open chandu's suitcase in excitement and after several attempts in vain, the suitcase had finally flung open and fallen over prem. Poor boy couldn't take the weight of the suitcase and started crying loudly.
When Niru reached the room, she was shocked and embarrassed. Shocked to see little prem fallen under the open suitcase, and embarrassed because he was holding a white transparent strapped silk gown that has just fallen out from the suitcase, and it was definitely not a long one. Listening to the wailing, chandu came outside the bathroom, wrapped in a towel and stood there trying to comprehend what was going on.
Shilpa just smiled, while she helped prem to get up and pacified him and made him stop crying.
"yeh kiske liye hai?" he asked his dad innocently between his sobs, as he held out the nighty, as though with an intention to display how transparent and revealing it could be, if worn.
"beta yeh aapki mama ke liye hoga na, kyunki tum aur papa ladkiyon ke kapde nahi pehenthe aur main sirf saree pehenthi hoon... toh yeh toh unke liye hi hoga na... kyun chandu?" shilpa replied naughtily, while chandu and Niru both flushed and looked at the floor, embarrassed. Meanwhile prem started laughing uncontrollably, confusing all the three.
"kya papa, aap bhi? Yeh dress mama ke liye chota nahi hoga? Aapko toh shopping karna bhi nahi aata.." he said as he kept the dress on the bed, picked up the toys that chandu had brought for him and left the room, giggling at the joke he just cracked. Shilpa too walked out of the room and shut the room door, after she naughtily winked at Niru.
"ummm, ...woh..." chandu tried justifying, thinking that she would take it all in a wrong sense.
"main saree bhi laaya hoon..." he said as he quickly handed over the saree to Niru.
It was a pretty red netted saree, with delicate stone and pearl work on it. She loved the saree and he could tell that she loved it, looking at her expressions.
"accha laga?"
"hmmm bahut... thank you" she spoke with a spark in her eyes. Just then she realized that he was standing there only wrapped in a towel, with water dripping from his hair, all over his body. She had never seen him shirtless earlier and today, she thought she would faint. She glanced at his perfectly shaped abs and much more, and this was not unnoticed by chandu. When she noticed that chandu had caught her staring at him, she turned the other direction,.
"main yeh sara samaan cupboard mein rakhti hoon." she was nervous, embarassed, shy and blushing... She was about to go, when he held her hand and pulled her towards him. He pulled her with such a force that she literally fell against his chest. He tucked her hair behind her ear and brushed his fingers on her cheek as she,unknowingly, placed her hands on his hard chest. He traced her chin and lifted it up so that she was looking into his eyes.
"maasi ne tumhe sab bata diya na?" he asked. She was silent. "bolo na"
"haan bata diya, jo kuch bhi tumhe batana chahiye tha, woh unhone bataya." She faked anger, least expecting him to take it seriously...
"main batana chahta tha lekin mauka hi nahi mila... trust me Niru, main..."
"shhh, main mazak kar rahi thi..." she placed her finger on his lips. "jo beeth gaya so beeth gaya, mujhe uske bare mein koi baat nahi karni. Please, uss baat ko guzre hue kal mein hi rehne do. Aur Mujhe humare aanewale kal ke bare mein bhi baat nahi karna hai, kyunki jaisa bhi ho, mujhe itna pata hai, ke mere anewale kal mein tum mere saath hoge, prem mere saath hoga... mujhe aur kuch nahi chahiye..." saying this she hugged him tightly. He hugged her back. And both of them shut their eyes and let the feeling of togetherness sink in them.
He nuzzled in her neck and Niru just loved the ticklish moment. It changed into a passionate one, when chandu, out of the blue, nibbled on her collar bone after he slid her dupatta down, causing Niru to dig her nails into his back. Chandu increased his grip on her waist. He broke the hug and placed a sloppy kiss on her cheeks and his lips lingered on her skin for a while. His lips found their way to hers, and he grabbed the opportunity to kiss her. He nibbled her lower lip hungrily and she responded in the same manner. They broke the kiss and chandu asked her in a breathless tone.
"kya hum...? can we continue? please??" asking her whether they could consummate and take their marriage to the next level. Niru kept her eyes shut, but nodded her head in confirmation since she was as breathless as he was.
Chandu hugged her back tightly. Without breaking the hug, they moved close to their bed. He made her lay on the bed and was about to lay next to her and make love, when there was a knock on the door.
They opened their eyes. Chandu was irritated that someone had come to spoil their perfect moment. He got up and stormed into the bathroom, while Niru chuckled at his behaviour, adjusted her clothes and went to open the door. It was shilpa.
"disturb karne ke liye sorry, lekin prem zidd kar raha tha ke usey kahin bahar jaana hai. Tum kaho toh main leke jaaun?"
"aap akele kyun? Main bhi chalti hoon saath mein" niru said, while she was still adjusting her hair.
"thik hai, lekin chandu se toh pooch..."
"unse kya poochna? Woh bhi saath chalenge"
"accha thik hai, lekin kapde badalke neeche aa jaana, poore geele ho gaye..." shilpa smirked and went from there.
Niru looked at herself in the mirror. Her clothes was almost wet. It then struck her that it was due to chandu, since he had not dried himself. She blushed as she recollected what was just happening in the room, a few minutes back. She took out a blue salwar and kept her matching bangles ready. Meanwhile, chandu came outside the bathroom, looking all fresh and handsome, in a pair of washed out jeans and a white Tshirt.
"prem keh raha tha ke ussey bahar jaana hai, toh maine maasi se keh diya ke hum bhi unke saath challenge. Thik hai na?"
"hmmm" he replied as he brushed his hair.
"thik hai, main abhi tayyar ho ke aati hoon"
"hmmm" he replied and he sat on the bed watching tv, at which she frowned.
"kya hmmm? Bahar jaayiye na? Mujhe change karna hai."
"toh maine kahan mana kiya? Karlo change. Main tumhe nahi dekhunga, main tv dekhunga. sacchhi... " He smiled at her with an innocent look.
"Chandu jayiye na..." she whined. Chandu got up and went really close to her with a naughty smile, while she nervously looked at him.
"waise tum par har rang achha lagta hai, lekin red zyada accha lagta hai..." he whispered in her ears.
"mama..." screamed prem, as he flung open the door. Chandu stepped back from Niru, while she looked at prem.
"kya hua prem? Kuch chahiye tha?"
"haan mama. Aap kitna time lete ho ready hone main. Jaldi karo.. papa aap chalo na neeche"
Chandu looked at prem and said smilingly "tu ja, main abhi aaya"
"nahi... abhi abhi abhi chalo..." he held chandu's hand and tried dragging him outside the room. Chandu walked out of the room after he mouthed "i love you" to Niru. She smiled as she closed the door and then got ready to go.
Chandu was waiting in the car, while shilpa and prem sat behind, all waiting for Niru. Soon she came and sat next to chandu. She was wearing a RED churidaar.
Chandu just smiled at her and they went to a nearby ice cream parlour. After prem was happy enough with the ice creams, they left to go to the park.
They had just reached there, when a man came and hugged chandu and chandu greeted him with smiles. The man's wife and daughter stood next to him.
"Niru yeh mera dost, anurag hai, aur yeh unki wife, taani aur yeh unki pyari se beti, heer, jo prem ki classmate hai " and looking at Niru he said "yeh meri wife, nirupama"
They greeted each other and spoke for a while.
"yaar chandu, tujhe kal ka function toh yaad hai na..."
Chandu bit his tongue, he had forgotten about anurag's house warming function.
"mujhe pata tha, bhabhi aap kal inke sath ghar aana. Thik 7pm pahunch jaana" anurag told her.
"jee hum koshish karenge"
"arey koshish nahi Niru, kaho ke tum zaroor aaogi" spoke taani. Niru smiled and nodded.
"lekin yeh toh bade logon ki party hain na, hum kya karenge wahan pe, main toh bore ho jaaunga" prem said with a puppy face...
"arrey tum dono kaho toh main isey apne ghar le jaaun? Waise bhi bahut din ho gaye, main apne ghar nahi gayi hoon" shilpa said to chandu and niru.
"hmm thik hai maasi, kal iss prem ko aap hi sambhaalna" chandu told her.
So it was decided. Chandu and Niru would attend the function while prem would go with shilpa to her house. The women spoke as to what they would be wearing the next day, the two men men were talking about some general topics like recession, politics etc and the kids were busy playing. They spoke for a while and then went back to their respective homes, while they bid a "see you tomorrow" to each other. They drove home, while prem was chattering non-stop!!!
At home, Chandu had just returned to the room when he saw Niru drying her hair after her bath. She looked beautiful. She was standing near the window, while the moonlight on the face and the light breeze in her hair, just seemed to enhance her beauty. Chandu noticed that she was lost in thoughts, while a smile played on her lips.
Chandu came near her and hugged her from behind while he rested his chin on her shoulder. they stayed that way for a while, and Niru finally spoke up.
"chandu?"
"hmmm..."
"main kal function mein kya pehnoon?"
Chandu was startled. He dint know what exactly to reply.
"woh, jo red saree laya tha, delhi se, wohi pehno..." he said not sure of her take on it; but surprisingly, she loved the idea.
"thik hai, toh main usey abhi iron karwake lati hoon"
She was about to leave when chandu held her wrist and pulled her back.
"ironing toh kal bhi kar sakti ho. Abhi jo zaruri hai, woh karte hain" he said as he wrapped his arms round her waist, all in naughty smiles...
"aur woh kuansa zaruri kaam hai?" Niru asked with a soft voice, not sure whether to look up at him.
He lifted her chin and looked into her eyes "theory mein samjhaaun ya practical mein??"
Niru blushed at this. "jo aapka mann kare" she spoke in a whisper tone
Chandu smiled and was just about to kiss her cheeks when prem banged on the door.
"mama, darwaza kholo."
Chandu, irritated and annoyed, walked to the door and opened it.
"kya hua prem, tum abhi tak soye nahi? Kya hamesha mama mama karta rehta hai?"
"sone ke liye toh aaya hoon. Main mama ke paas hi sota hoon, from day one..." he casually spoke as he passed by chandu, missing his glare.
He jumped on the bed. "mama aao na" he gestured her to come and sleep next to him. Niru walked upto the bed and lied down, while prem hugged her and kissed her a goodnight kiss on her cheeks. She too kissed him on the forehead, after she ruffled his hair..
"aur mera goodnight kiss?" chandu said with a puppy face.
"aap chote bacche ho kya, jo mama aapko goodnight kiss de?" prem chuckled and hugged niru.
Niru just awed at his cuteness. She hugged prem tightly.
"chandu, jab sone aaoge toh light off karna please." She giggled while chandu glared at the them. He was surprised that he felt jealous of his little kid coz he was hugging his wife. He just smiled at them and turned off the lights. Prem slept in between them.
Chandu lied down facing prem's back, while Niru faced prem... chandu and Niru looked at each other... even in the dark, they could see each other's eyes and read the feelings written evidently there.
Niru ruffled chandu's hair and mouthed him "i love you". He blew a kiss in the air and hugged both, prem and Niru and the three of them cuddled and were soon lost in their own dream lands...
