Had he heard everything? It looked like it.Oh God!!! He pushed me back to the wall and stood infront of me,blocking my escape route.

Maan:So,0?Really?

Geet:N..No,i didn't mean it.It was before...

She was stuttering and flustered.I smiled and stroked her hair.

Maan:(teasing)But You weren't 0!! Id say you were 10.

I looked at him,embarrassed.But happy.

Geet:But i don't think you were 0 Either.That was before when Meera rang,Before...

Maan:(smiling mischeviously)So what number was i?

Geet:I..Im not telling,Now let me go.

Maan:I wont.And if you don't tell,Then i'll undress you right here and...

Geet:No,You wont.Dont threaten me.If someone comes then...?What will happen to you huh? They wont like it will they?And im their darling niece.

Maan:Oh really?Well,im their darling Son in law.And im threatening you, am i?

There was a mischevious glint in his eyes.He pulled me closer,(not that there was that much space between us in the first place,we were in a cramped corner of a cramped hallway) and began sliding his hand up my arm slowly.I said to him,in what i thought was a very stern voice" Maan.Im telling y..-" but i couldn't finish my sentence as he stopped the words coming out of my mouth by covering it with his and kissing me ferociously.At first,I tried to stop him,What if someone saw us? But then,My resolve wavered and i found myself kissing him just as passionately.His hand slid under my top and he yanked me forward and began caressing my waist.Then,We heard a voice.

Meera:(Coughing)Ahem.Ahem.

We turned around.Her eyes were as big as golf balls and shining in delight.She smiled at me and looked pointedly at Maan's hand around my waist before leaving.

Maan:Well,That was...

Geet:Embarrasing.Thats what it was.Now let me go.And you need to tell them were leaving,not me.It was your plan and their not going to like it at all.

Maan:But...?

I ducked under his arm and walked away.I said over my shouder"9" and smiled.A few minutes later,Maan came down.I looked at him and smiled shyly.He smiled back cockily.

Uncle:Come,Maan.Sit down.

Maan:Yes,Sure.

Uncle:So,what are your plans now?

Maan:Errr...Actually,Were flying back tonight.At 7.

Auntie:Tonite? Geet,Is this true?

Geet:Yeah,But don't blame me.Its all his fault.

I got up and walked over to him.

Geet:Yes,It is.

Maan:You are such a liar.

Geet:(Points her finger at him)No,Im not.Youre tickets booked and you booked mine aswell.So,Your fault!!!

Auntie:(quietly)Oh god,someone stop them.

I was so angry at him,How dare he blame me!!! Such a double standard!!! Suddenly,i felt someone pushing me and i started falling towards Maan and he fell back on to the sofa,Taking me with him.We found ourselves lying on top of each other.As usual,my heartbeat increased with the proximity.I'd thought that would have stopped by now but...We lay there gazing at each other and my anger evaporated instantly.We broke away and burst out laughing.

Meera:There you go,There fine now!!! All they need is to be in each others arms,Or should i say in each others clothing!!!

Uncle:Meera!!!

Maan:Meera,Are you thinking of marriage? Should i fix it for you with my brother?

Meera:Huh!! No Way,Not yet!! And with your brother,Never!! Id never hear the end of it from Geet.

I stuck my tongue out at her.

Uncle:Beta,You can get off each other now.

Geet:Ohhh,Errr...

I got up awkwardly and sat next to him on the sofa.He reached for my hand.What was he doing? Infront of everyone? I struggled with him but he wouldn't let go.

Geet:(Quietly)Maan!!

Uncle:So,If you fly at 7,Shouldnt you be going?

Maan:Err..Yeah,We should.Come on Geet.

Geet:Ok

I looked around at everyone and a lump formed in my throat.I was going to miss them so much!! They'd supported me,looked after me at the time when i was at my worst,heartbroken.How would i say Bye to them now? Meera wasn't looking at me,I knew she was also upset.I hugged everyone and kept the tears in but when i got to Meera,The tears spilled over.She was crying aswell.

Geet:(laughs tearfully)Sorry,Im staining your shirt.

Meera:And im staining yours.

Geet:God,Whats happened to us,Look at us blubbering!!

Meera:(wiping Geets tears)Ttears don't look good on a newlyweds face.

Geet:Its not that new anymore,its a day old.

Meera:Youre still an idiot.

Geet:And youre still annoying but i love you.Look after yourself.

Meera:You too.Keep the balance between passion,love and understanding.Never confuse them and your marriage will work otherwise it wont last long.Theres a big difference in Passion and Love,Got it?...I read that in a book,You know.Make sure you visit or you'll find me at your door,Well Maans door but...you know what i mean.

Maan came forward and hugged me,comforting me.

Maan:Come whenever you want and make sure you ring every week.And it wont be my door,Itll be our door from now on.

Meera hugged him aswell,awkwardly.

Meera:Look after her or you'll have me to face.If you make her cry...,I'll take back everyone of those tears from you but doubled.

She laughed.

Maan:I will,Dont worry.I don't dare go against Meera Syed!!!

Meera:Too Right!!! Now go,Youre late.Bye,Geet.

Geet:Bye.

I walked out crying and Maan supporting me.It was a scene fit for an Indian film.Maybe i should forget Law and become an actress instead.We sat in the car and drove away.I looked out of the window,Hiding my tears.

Maan:Geet,Dont cry.Or you Know what Meera will do,Dont you?

Geet:Sorry,I...Just...

Maan:Dont worry.Its ok.Let it all out.

We arrived at the airport,checked in,went through customs,border control and then boarded the flight.We were sat next to an old lady,she looked kind.We squeezed past her and Maan sat in the window seat.I frowned.

Geet:Thats my seat!!!

Maan:No,That is.

Geet:But i want to sit there.Plss..?

I looked at her tearstained face and couldn't refuse.I got up and she sat down,Smiling.

Geet:Thank You!!! Youre the best,I love You!!!

Lady:Youre so sweet!! May your love grow and you have lots of children!! Are you married?

Maan:Yes.2 days ago.

Lady:Congrats.

Geet:But its a bit too early for children yet,Were still in college.

Maan:Geet,How many children do you want? I should know,Its important.

Geet:(shocked)Maaan!!!!

Maan:What?

Geet:Ssshhh,Not now.Were taking off.

When we were safely in the air,I kicked my shoes off and lay with my head on his lap.He stroked my hair and smiled.We stayed like that for a while,Just talking about general things.

Maan:Geet,Why don't you wear a mangalsutra or Sindoor?

Geet:(laughs)Did you put it on me on our wedding? No,So why would i wear it?

Maan:(determined)I'll do it tonight.Before we do other things.

He tickled me and i squirmed away,I was sooo ticklish.

Maan:And then will you wear it?

Geet:Sure,For you.You do so much for me,I can do this much for you atleast.

I began feeling his arms,just playing,drawing patterns on them.I felt a dent in his arm and looked.There were stratch marks surrounding that mark and the dent had been made by someone peeling his skin off.Who would do that? I got up immediately and looked closer at it.I had no idea what it had been made with.Human or Animal? What or Who had done that? I had to know!!
