PART 3

At Delhi:

Maan was driving the car and staring at Geet through the mirror. Geet. She was blabbering or murmuring something to herself or may be to her "Babaji".

Maan: (thinks) Beautiful. She has become so beautiful in these eight years .What? What the hell am I thinking? I don't know what is there in this girl. Is she some sort of lunatic? By her external appearance she looks crazy and every time she comes here to meet Sanya she makes me go wilder and crazier.

God what is this girl made of? What did Sanya see in this girl as a friend? Self talking----prominent symptom of being a lunatic. No no Best example of a lunatic-- Miss Geet Handa. Haa ah!!! Please forgive me God for my wild thoughts. She surely drives everyone crazy. I wonder how she comes first in her class. God what I am thinking?

Geet: (self talk) He is still staring at me. Babaji do I look that funny or do I look like a joker? (Checks herself) No no he might have some eye problem. He was also staring at me like that eight years ago. I will surely ask him today. After all I am going to stay with him. And with his piercing gaze I may get burnt some day. He he heee. Babaji he is so dead today and he won't be able to leave without answering my questions. But I must say he looks dead handsome. Oops Geet remember he is going to be your best friend Sanya's husband. Respect him girl.

They all reach home.

Knock. Knock

A very simple dressed guy yet handsome and elegant wearing spectacles welcome them by opening the door.

Dev.

Dev: Geet!!!! Finally you have come. I missed your blabbering so much in these eight years. You have become so beautiful.

Dev hugs Geet.

Geet huskily whispers in Dev's ear: Dude at least you should have changed your cheesy filmy lines that you used eight years ago. Sameera might not remember but I know you too well. Ever flirty.

Dev's smile vanishes on hearing the name "Sameera". His eyes spit fire which was clearly noticed by Geet.

Geet felt guilty. Nevertheless Dev welcomed Sameera with a forced smile.

Dev: Welcome to Khurana Mansion, Sam...e.er...a.

Dev touches Daarji's feet.

Daarji: Bless you son. May you live long.

Dev: Welcome Daarji.

Dev: Guys freshen up fast. We have lot of work to do.

"Dev ' Dev where to put up this. Dev come soon. We have lot of work to do and you are busy talking "

Dev: (murmurs) Uff this girl will end up embarrassing me. (Tells everyone) Daarji, Guys meet my bench mate and Dad's best friend, Meera.

Meera: oh oops sorry. Dev that's Daarji right. Big D used to praise a lot about you Daarji 'err'..Sir.

Daarji: Meera beta. You can call me Daarji.( Meera touches his feet)

Dev: Meera that's Geet.

Geet: Hii Meera (forwards her hand to Meera which she shakes). So you are Dev's new'err' girl (she murmurs)'..I mean friend.

Meera: OK guys enough of chilling (every one had freshened up and gathered in the hall way).

They all helped each other for decorating the hall way.

Sameera just stands like that ogling at Maan.

Meera: Uff oh Sameera .No one will be going to invite you to join us to help with garlands yaar. Come on please help us.

Sameera was going to retort when'.

Maan: Yes Sameera. Please help us. Otherwise it will be heavy load on me and Sanya.

Sameera happily nods.

Geet: (thinks) If she helps Maan surely she will create a rift between Maan and Sanya. I must do something as Sanya is still unaware about Sameera's evil intentions.

Geet: You please go and help Sanya with the arrangement of chairs and drinks. Sanya, please look into these matters first I will manage with Maan.

Sameera grumbles.

Sameera: Geet. Now you will teach me what to do and what not. (Gritting her teeth) Tell me will yo'

Sanya: Oh come on Sameera. Don't be a spoil sport. Come please. You would enjoy a lot. Right Maan?

Maan: Yes yes .Of course Sanya. Geet please come here and help me with sticking these balloons.

Geet holds the balloons and gives one by one to Maan. After finishing with the balloons Geet self talks admiring Maan and Dev's idea while Maan amusingly stares at Geet. No one is noticing as others are present in other rooms and Daarji has gone out for some official work.

Geet while self talking moves her hands which strikes the stool upon which Maan is standing. Maan gets misbalanced and falls upon Geet.

Under sudden impulse Geet's hands move to Maan's neck while Maan's hands to Geet's waist and Maan atop Geet. They keep on staring intensely at each other's chocolate brown eyes. This scene was watched by Sameera who was shivering furiously. Maan and Geet remained entangled with each other in that position for a long time until'.

Geet heard a knock at the door. She as well as Maan snapped out of their reverie. Geet uncomfortably stood up while Maan took a little time to understand the situation and hence Geet struggled for a few minutes to get out of his tight grip. When both of them realized the situation they became heavily embarrassed of their actions and muttered "sorry" to each other.

Geet went to open the door. She found no one. Sameera was hiding herself behind the pillar watching everything from there.

Dev entered from the back door.

Sameera: (thinks) Thank God Dev came. Otherwise she would have stolen my Maan. God such a witch she is, Geet what were you up to?

Dev: Guys what were you doing? I rang the bell and knocked so many times but no one opened the door. So I came from the back door.

Meera: I was in Big D's room so could not hear.

Sanya: I was in kitchen so'.

Sameera: I was in bathroom.

Maan & Geet (at a time): I was not here. I mean I went to Sanya's room to have water.

Dev: Uff oh Maan Geet don't take it seriously yaar. Anyways here's Dad's cake. See I have also told to the baker to write "S.S.K".

Meera: Wow!! Big D's cake looks so delicious. Dev keep it over that middle table. So everything is ready guys. Let's get ready guys. It's already 5:45 guys. Guests will start arriving at 6:15. Big D will arrive at around 7:15. He will be totally baffled and surprised.

Everyone joins her and says: Yes.

They go to their respective rooms to get dressed up.

All gather up at the hall. Almost all guests have arrived at the party.

Daarji: Children, Is everything ready? You children have made this hall wonderful.

Dev: Dad has come. Bro put the lights off. Everyone hide. Quick. Get going .Gentlemen and Ladies please straighten yourself.

Darkness is every where.

Sunil S. Khurana: Aray Itna sannata kyun hai bhai? Bachon kahan ho tum log. Oh my God has anything happened to them. Maan? Dev? Sanya?

Lights were put on. Sunil jumped in surprise.

All in unison: Happy birthday to you''''

Maan & Dev: Happy Birthday Dad. (They give their gifts to him)

Sunil: Thank You beta.

Sameera & Sanya : Happy Birthday Uncle.

Meera: Happy Birthday Big D.

Sunil: Thank you Sanya beta. You too my Small F. That's Sameera I think.( Sam nods carelessly) You have not changed even a little bit.

Geet: Happy Birthday Big Ears.

Sunil: Aray you too Hitler. Thank you very very much. I am very happy you came HITLER.

Geet: I am too happy you liked our surprise BIG EARS.(whispers) Can't you stop saying me Hitler in front of everybody. It's very embarrassing.

Sunil: (whispers) Can't you stop calling me Big Ears. It's embarrassing too.

Both have a hearty laugh while the guests stare at their bond in amusement.

Sunil.S.Khurana cuts the cake. Everyone wishes him and gives him the gifts. He busies himself talking with his business buddies.

Sunil: Thank you for all the gifts. Though People would laugh at this statement of mine, but in my childhood I would crave for such surprise parties. Better so .Jo bachpan mein na mila who budhape mein hi sahi.

Daarji: Arey Billu hamara nahin in bachchon ka shukriya aada kar specially tere bete ka. Laakhon mein ek hai tera beta.

Sanya: (thinks) So toh hai.

Sameera: (thinks) I know my Maan is the best.

Geet: (thinks)Hmmm Maan I mean Khurana has a lot of talents and admirations upon his sleeves.

The party goes on.

All guests have returned to their respective houses as the party was over. Meera stayed back as Sanya and Mr. Sunil S Khurana requested her to do so .So as planned all of them changed into their night suits and gathered at Sanya's room. They all cheered for Maan and Dev's plan as it was a grand success as well as surprise.

Then there was complete silence as all reminisced their happy moments.

In order to lighten up the mood of their environment, Sanya spoke up.

Sanya: If you guys won't mind, Let's play Truth and Dare.

Geet, Sameera, Meera & Dev: Yes yes yes.

Maan: No no and no.

Sanya: Oh Maan don't be a spoil sport.

Maan: Ok. If you are insisting let's play it.

So the Truth and Dare game starts.

Geet turns/rotates the glass bottle.

Its mouth indicates Dev and bottom indicates Geet.

Geet: So Dev your turn Truth or Dare?

Dev: (thinks for a while) I, Dev Singh Khurana takes Dare.

Geet: Hmmm .So let's see. Take revenge from the one who had hurt you the most without making us know that who it is.

Dev: Silly girl. Is it some kind of joke huh?

Geet: No Dev .I am serious.

Dev: So for that all of you have to come to the hall.

Dev: (whispers to Maan) Bro is the cakes and other food items still there in the hall?

Maan: Yes. Dev don't tell me you are up to some notorious deed.

Dev: I really am. Just wait and watch Bro.

Maan: Ok .Fine. As you wish.

Dev: (thinks) My target of revenge is Miss Sameera Handa. She rejected me right. Now face my revenge.

Dev :( thinks) Sameera ki bachchi!!!!You think you are the smartest girl in the world. You have only seen my softer side; my devilish side is yet to be shown to you. You badly need a reality check and I am all set to show you. Well Devil Dev is BACK.

Dev looks at Sameera who was ogling at Maan. A devilish grin spreads through his face. This is the beginning thinks Dev. Dev moves towards the food serving table and..

Sameera: (thinks) How hot Maan lo'TADAAM There goes the chocolate cup cake on Sameera's face. And she gives the "The culprit is in big trouble "look. She throws the pastries towards the direction from which and due to which she became a black monkey. Instead of landing on Dev it lands on Sanya. Sanya giggles first and later becomes angry and throws the left out pastries on Sameera which lands on Geet.

The cake fight continues between the group while a cake piece from Dev lands on Maan and Maan sees that Geet had raised her hand.

So he mistakes the "culprit" to be Geet. He throws the cup cakes on Geet.

Geet and Maan start bickering.

Maan: You threw it first.

Geet: Nooo.You threw it first.

Maan: I threw it first right ( he almost screams waking up Mr. Sunil Singh Khurana who comes to the hall to see what the commotion is all about)He brings the coca cola bottle and pours it all on Geet.

Geet: Are you out of your mind?

Maan: Anyone will be when he/she gets your company.

Geet: Fine.

She strides towards the fridge bringing the cake piece she had kept hidden for only her Big Ears. She brings it and dumps it on Maan's face.

Maan & Geet: (at each other) I will not leave you. I will su'

Sunil: Stop this non-sense. Do you even realize its late mid night huh? Just go and wash yourselves. Look at yourselves. You look like the ancestors of human beings. Black Monkeys. Time line instead of going forward is going back right children.

Maan & Dev: Sorry Dad.

Sanya & Sameera: Sorry Uncle.

Meera: Sorry Big D. We will not repeat this.

Geet: Sorry Big Ears.

All: We will immediately change our suits and you won't hear a single noise.

Sunil: Good. Just go right now.

They again gather at Sanya's room after changing their dresses and washing themselves. They resume their game.

The bottle this time is rotated by Dev while Geet and Maan give each other looks of sheer hatred.

This time the mouth was on Sanya and bottom on Sameera.

Sameera: So Sanya. Truth or Dare.

Sanya: I , Sanya Kapoor takes Truth.

Sameera: So are you in love with someone?

Sanya gives an uncomfortable look while everyone gets surprised at Sameera's question and stares at her with disgust clearly written on their faces.

Dev: (mutters) Disgusting creature.

Sanya: '..er'..I 'love'.Excuse me I am feeling very sleepy. End this game please.

Sameera: but Sanya I...

She was cut off by Maan.

Maan: If she doesn't want why are you forcing her, Sameera? I feel everyone is feeling sleepy right.

All: Yesss. Everyone yawns and leaves for their own rooms leaving Maan and Sanya in that room.

Sanya was lost in her thoughts. She remembered her past memories.

####FLASHBACK#####

Sanya s mom: Sanya beta. Before leaving you forever I have something to tell you.

Sanya: Please mom don't say like this. You are not leaving me that's final. Please someone call the doctor soon.

Sanya s mom: Please beta listen to me first. It is about your life beta

Sanya: Please mom I don't want to hear anything.Doc... Doc come soon.

Sanya's mom: You are dealt due to your father to '..Khuranas. They are nice but your father mortgaged you.

Sanya: What the hell are you saying? No papa could never do this. Mom please don't sink. Please live for me...

Sanya snaps out and looks towards the rising sun which radiated dark red colour.

Meanwhile Maan had already sneaked out of the room seeing Sanya getting emotional.

Sanya: I am forced into this relation Maan .I don't love you Maan. I just like you as a friend and nothing else.

Sanya turns and finds no one and cries her heart out.

Maan in his room :( self-talk) I just want to make this relationship work though there is no love in it from both the sides. Though our parents' promise forced us into this relation, I still want to continue it since I can't break their promise and being Savitri Devi's grandson I am bound by her ideals. I can't break their promise .Though it was a decision out of emotional blackmail. I know that I may not get another girl like Sanya so i want this relationship to work. I know she loves me very much and I don't want to break her heart. After all Maan Singh Khurana never breaks his promises even if it was made when I was infant.

PRECAP:

Meera, Sanya and Dev are looking first to Geet then to Maan and then back to Geet. Sameera is smirking.

Maan: This presentation doesn't look good.

Geet: This colour doesn't look good .Its so oldies type.

Maan: For your kind information "Old is Gold".
