Guesthouse, Irugarh

Misha looked at Sambhav's straight face and eyes , looking at the ground and not her. Then, she looked at Abhay who was looking at the two of them with his arms crossed against his chest and his foot tapping on the ground. Piya and Tracker were watching the scene with crossed fingers as though they were at the climax of a supernatural thriller. The guesthouse owner who was laying out food for everyone was muttering to himself that just how could such grown ups behave like small bawling kids.

Sambhav ( repeats patiently )- It's a truce, Misha. I am not going to say another cross word to you, ever again. I shall behave myself.

Abhay raises an eyebrow at Misha as if asking about her next move.

Misha ( takes a deep breath )- Same here…..( slowly lifts her slim delicate hand and shakes Sam's hand )…. Truce. I will not come after your life either.

Sambhav ( tilts his head and adds cockily )- And that includes not interfering between mine and Tanushree's matters.

Misha looks stung at this and presses Sambhav's hand harder and Sambhav raises an eyebrow at her. Abhay notices the change in colour in Misha's face while Piya is sure that Misha is going to punch Sambhav's nose any given moment.

Misha ( gritted teeth )- Yo dude. Am not coming between you and your precious T. In your language , I shall behave myself.

Sambhav ( big smile )- Wow! Suddenly , I like you.

Misha ( smiles )- Suddenly , I am trying to like you.

Abhay ( sighs )- Okay, okay. This is getting sweeter than what is real. The truce is enough for the rest of us to live in peace….

Tracker ( raises her hand in confusion )- But… but my question is still unanswered. Is Sambhav dating T?

Sambhav ( rolls his eyes )- No , Ruhi. I am not dating T. Chill.

Tracker ( sulks )- Stupid Sam and Moron Misha. T T T T T T….all the fights over T and he is not even dating T!

Piya laughs and gives Tracker a quick hug , pulling her cheek.

Piya ( playfully )- Awwwww….my little Tracker. It takes guts to date the Queen of Mount College. Sambhav is too scared of her , right Sam?

Sam (forced to laugh) - Hell, yeah. She gives me the jitters.

Misha (fluttering her eyelashes at him) - Paris Hilton jitters?

Sambhav (flutters his eyelashes back at her) - No. Katrina Kaif jitters. She's hotter.

Misha gets furious and takes her hand away from him with a jerk.

Abhay ( smirks )- Oh , and I thought the hands of you two had gotten glued in a never ending handshake… ( laughs )…. Okay , before you both rip each-other again , this is our last night here in Irugarh. Tomorrow, it is back to Dehradun and back to the grind. So, we are going to live it up!...And since …( puts his arms around Sambhav and Misha)… you both have made it up, I guess it calls for a truce dance.

Misha – Truce dance?

Sambhav (narrows his eyebrows) - I have not heard of a TRUCE DANCE in the last 500 years.

Abhay ( grins )- Well, you hear it now, Sam! MUSIC?

Piya plays the music on the music system in Abhay's car. She looks at Sam and Misha . Abhay looks at Sam and Misha. Even the guest house owner and Tracker look at Sam and Misha.

Sambhav, flustered, throws up his hands and just pulls Misha closer and puts her hand on his shoulder. He slides his arm around her waist and Misha's breath comes to her mouth again. That animalistic heat that Sambhav's body generates makes Misha go blank for a few seconds as she blinks her doe eyes at him. Sambhav gets her heartbeats and a smile curves his mouth up.

Sambhav ( softly )- You are still after me, Mish?

Misha ( snarls at him through a big smile )- Not me. Its my body. Natural reaction to a sexual arousal by an overheated beast and am sure its got to do something with your hocus pocus powers… my FRIEND!

Sambhav ( twirling her around )- Hocus pocus powers?Eww. Why are you such a supernatural illiterate, Misha? Werewolves don't have hocus pocus powers , for heaven's sake.

Misha ( coming back into his arms )- How would I know that? I don't need any supernatural literacy. We are doing this for Abhay.

Sambhav ( dipping her )- I am doing it for T. I can either handle her or else I can get into hair pulling matches with you… ( dramatically rolls his eyes)… and what do I choose?...( lifts her up with a jerk and his hot breath crosses her lips making her gasp)….I choose T. Less aggressive , easy to manuvere and she listens to me!

Misha ( jiving with him)- Haha, sure. Animals listen to animals.

Sambhav ( rolls his eyes and pushes her body in his arms )- When was the last time you updated your vocabulary? You need to find new synonyms for the word 'animal'.

On the other hand, Abhay is dancing with a gleeful Tracker while a smiling Piya sits on a wooden bench and gorges on French Fries and coffee. Her shining eyes on Abhay as he swings , twirls and moves Tracker in his arms as per his sense of rhythm. When the music had begun, Abhay had taken Piya's hand to take her to dance but then, he had noticed Tracker's sunken face as she was all alone and seemed to miss Angad. Abhay and Piya had looked at each-other and Abhay, a sweet friendly smile on his face had left Piya's hand and taken her to dance . Piya was all smiles as she saw Tracker's face light up. Now, Piya watched him smile, dance and laugh with Tracker. It was crazy but seeing Abhay have a normal evening where he was not fighting vampires , werewolves or being a bodyguard to everyone made Piya feel a strange thrill inside her. He was happy – not tormented, not scared, not pessimistic anymore. He was finally the Abhay that Piya had always hoped to see behind the dark knight. Future ? What was there to worry about the future? They both didn't know where they were headed but what they did know was that wherever the future took them, they were going to be there TOGETHER.

Abhay looked at Piya as he dipped Tracker and she looked back at him , making a face that said she thought he was good at twirling girls around. This eye flirty talk continued for a while until a tired Tracker , taking her stilettos in her hand , walked back to the bench , holding Abhay's arm.

Tracker ( crashing down)- Piya, your boyfriend is a pilot! … ( gulps down water )…I just had a round trip of the whole world. Abhay , you are a freakin' superman!

Abhay ( grins )- Look at the positive side. Now , you are so tired that you wouldn't want to dance until the next weekend.

Tracker ( snatches Piya's coffee )- Make that next month!

Piya ( points to Sam and Misha )- And what do they both eat that they don't get tired?

Abhay ( looks at them smiling and dancing but he can read their arguments )- Still eating each-other's brains but in a civilized manner….( looks back at Piya )… and I think you are done sitting here. Get up and come with me.

Piya ( acts snooty )- I don't feel like dancing.

Abhay just rolls his eyes and makes her stand up with a jerk, pulling her close. Piya's breath stops in her throat as the balsam and cinnamon in Abhay's air hits her senses.

Abhay ( equally snooty )- Don't even try that, Pie. You can never beat me at acting pricey!

Tracker ( nods )- He is right on that one! I still can't believe this thick headed snoot is bouncing and hopping around with us in a hot mauve shirt….consider yourself lucky, Piya. You are one amongst the 1200 girls in Mount College who wanted to nail him.

Piya laughs and a loving smile comes over Abhay's face as he moves a stray flying strand of hair away from Piya's face and puts it behind her ear.

Abhay ( pensively )- She wasn't one amongst them. She is THE ONE.

Piya ( putting her arms around Abhay )- Yes, I am the one….( looks up at his face with her beautiful glittering browns )… will I always be the one?

Abhay ( kisses her forehead )- Till the end of time and beyond if there is any.

Tracker keeps blinking her eyes at the two of them with a stupid schoolgirl grin on her face.

Tracker ( innocently )- You both are not dating each-other.

Piya ( taken aback )- Of course we are . Why?

Tracker ( shakes her head )- This looks like those fairytales that start with a once upon a time and end with a happily ever after . Such people don't date each-other. They have always been together from the time time started.

Abhay ( smiles )- Yes….( looks at Piya )… we have always known each-other.

Piya – From the start of time.

Abhay (lovingly) - In that case , trust me and come along with me .

Piya (nods) - Right away.

Abhay takes Piya's hand and goes towards the woods.

Tracker (curiously )- Where are you taking her, Abhay?

Abhay ( clasping Piya's hand )- To the end of the world.

Abhay and Piya walk away together into the woods , arms around each-other's waists , whispering into each-other's ears. Maybe that is exactly how a happily ever after looks.

Sambhav and Misha notice that Abhay-Piya have gone into the woods and they come to Tracker.

Sambhav ( tapping Ruhi's shoulder )- Tracker , where did they go?

Tracker ( with a faraway look in her eyes )- To the end of the world.

Misha ( puzzled )- I am sure Abhay mouthed that line! Piya only thinks about flowers and butterflies.

Sambhav ( smiles at her )- You seem to know Abhay very well. How sweet.

Misha ( smiles back at him)- You seem to know T very well. Supersweet…see , I am not even being sarcastic.

Sambhav ( pulls her cheek )- This sweetness is going to kill me and T….( suddenly something strikes him)… T! …( looks at his wrist watch )… it is 10pm. She had said she will come back to the guesthouse by 9pm.

Tracker ( confused )- I wonder where she is and what is she doing all alone in this scary place. The woods are really deep in here.

Misha ( carelessly )- Don't worry, Tracker. T is gonna be fine . She is not as vulnerable as …( looks at Sam )… as you think. Anybody touches her, she can bite their necks off.

Samvhav doesn't react because he is now genuinely worrying about T as he is trying her phone but cannot get through to her.

Sambhav ( anxiously )- No network! I guess I should look for her myself.

Tracker ( puzzled )- But how will you know where she is?

Sambhav – I will. Misha , you stay here with Tracker , okay? I will just go and see where she is .

Misha nods and Sambhav disappears into the woods. Misha feels a pang of something inside her as she watches Sambhav go. It was strange how a beast like him acted like an alarm system when it came to that blood-sucking bimbette's safety. WHY? T was a vampire now and why the hell would a vampire need any kind of protection, eh?

Guest Cottage , Maarwa.

She looked at her wrist watch as she threw open the rickety wooden gate of the guesthouse. Everything was pin drop silent. It seemed Kabir, Angad and Natasha had gone off to sleep. She slapped her forehead and shook her head. Natasha! Why would Natasha be sleeping ? Must be out there in the woods somewhere , either brainwashing T or Danish or else drinking blood of some innocent villager. Anushka just shrugged her shoulders and walked up the pathway leading to the cottage. She was in a thoughtful and pensive mood. She was doing something she had never imagined she will do. Leaving her body to a Keeper and going to the underworld. To get rid of a curse she had kept secret and not cared about in years and years. But she was going to do it now. To save Abhay from Maithli and Bolshvas . To redeem herself of the evil deed that she was going to do on Abhay and Piya in less than 2 hours from now. There was a lot running in Anushka's head and she definitely didn't seem in a good mood right now. As she walked up the 5 stone steps , she suddenly saw a vampire face swing into her face with a growl , the familiar chocolate brown curls carrying the smell of blood. Anushka drew back and catching the vampire by her neck , threw her on the ground and put her heeled foot on her neck. It was Natasha and she coughed , coming back to her original dusky sexy face with bee sting lips. She growled and pushed Anushka back and sprang back to her feet , her cat eyes glaring at Anushka.

Anushka ( bored )- Go to sleep, Natasha. I am the least bit interested in playing kung-fu panda with you at this hour. And what's with the vampire attack on me, babe? You want an army of ghosts to swoop down on you?

Natasha ( dusting off her clothes )- I know you are guarded by a fleet of demons , Anush! I wouldn't have bitten you . I was just being… ( winks and smirks )… just my evil self. So, sweetie .Where were you since evening , hmmm? Nobody had a clue to where you were and your Kabir was pretty worked up.

Anushka ( glares at her )- I was at the arctic ocean, sunbathing on icebergs. Anything else? You don't bother about Kabir , get it? ….( smiles at her )… and don't try reading my mind. You are a vampire , Natz, You cannot read my thoughts.

Natasha ( smirks )- I know that! That is why I am keeping an eye on you so that you don't do anything stupid to spoil the deal ! You know what you have to do tomorrow, don't you?

Anushka has an urge to burn Natasha there and then, but she controls the urge and gritting her teeth , nods at her.

Anushka ( walking into the guesthouse )- Stop being a watchdog , Natz. Tomorrow, as promised, Abhay's memory will be manipulated and he will be given all false memories of him and Maithli while Piya's love ….( pauses )… Piya's chapter will be forgotten. Maithli has to be there at the Bloodstone Dungeon. I hope you told her.

Natasha ( proudly )- Yep. 9am sharp. She will be there and so will be Abhay, right?

Anushka – Yeah. Goodnight. Go wander in jungles , vampy or go to sleep. Just leave me alone , okay?

Natasha rolls her eyes, whistles and goes up the staircase, her shoes making sounds on the wooden planks. Anushka, still troubled and numbed by all that is happening around her, is going to happen tomorrow and in near future , sits down on the couch in the small hall area , covering her face with her hands murmuring to herself.

Anushka ( tiredly )- I am sorry, Abhay. I am so sorry, my brother. You have no idea what I am going to do to you in a few hours time… to you and to Piya. Forgive my sin.

Just then, the lamp next to her is switched on and she looks up with a start. It's Kabir. He is looking down at her with a worried and grim face, the fire-brown of his eyes looking stressed. Dressed in a black tank and pajamas , he seemed straight out of bed. Anushka immediately normalized herself.

Anushka ( smiles )- Kabir? You really scared me for a while.

Kabir ( crossing his arms across his chest )- Did i? I should be saying that about you, Anush. You keep on appearing and disappearing at your own will like some kind of a witch on a broomstick and its not funny anymore. Where the hell have you been? I was getting worried sick.

Anushka ( gets up and faces him )-Witches don't travel on broomsticks, dude!.... (Kabir gives her a what-the… look )… I mean why are you bringing witches in between? I was around the village and I was hiking. There is no network in the woods , so I am sorry if you couldn't get through to me.

Kabir is taken aback by her callous attitude and swings her back to face him as she tries to leave.

Kabir ( angrily )- And you think its cool for a young beautiful woman like you to be measuring the topography and weather graph of this place? All alone? Without informing anyone?

Anushka ( shakes off his hand )- Stop mothering me, Kabir. Did anything happen to me? No. Do I look anything like a damsel in distress? No. Then?

Kabir ( aggressively )- No, but do you faint in middle of a forest and behave like an absolute nutcase looking around for some Maithli ? YES.

Anushka ( gets touchy )- Shut up, Kabir! I don't want to talk about any of it! And why are we fighting on my night out? You are my friend! Stay in your limits…. ( waves a warning finger at him)… and nobody , I repeat, nobody gets away with behaving with Anushka like that!

Kabir ( narrows his eyes at her )- Are you trying to threaten me?

Anushka ( worked up)- Go to sleep , Kabir. Goodnight.

Kabir has never seen this side of Anushka and it both scares him and excites him. He grabs Anushka by her arms and she is totally taken aback at this. She has rarely seen Kabir get this aggressive , maybe except for the time when he had lifted her up in his arms to put her in the car when she was acting all stubborn on their way to Maarwa.

Anushka ( irritated )- WHAT!

Kabir ( pulling her close )- Where are your manners , Anush? This is how you wish a good looking guy a decent goodnight…

With this , he turns her face up and presses his lips to hers. A shocked Anushka resists at first but then, taken in by the passion he unleashes in her and her own latent feelings for him, she kisses him back. Only to come to her senses with a lightening speed. She pushes Kabir away and before he can say or react at all, she slaps him hard across his face, her whole hand getting printed on his cheek.

Anushka ( emotionally ruffled but her head in its place )- Don't do that ever again , Kabir! I swear I will burn you at a stake!

She turns on her heels and runs up the staircase not looking back even once. Kabir is shocked at himself and collapses on the couch , his entire right skull and cheek bone throbbing with the impact of the slap that Anushka had just delivered on his cheek. Hardly did Kabir know that this was the last of Anushka he was seeing . The next time he sets his eyes on her beautiful face , it will be the Keeper Zeenia looking at him. Tomorrow was a big day and somewhere Abhay-Piya were just living their dream , totally unaware that in a few hours' time, Maithli was going to take Piya's place.
