There was darkness everywhere.
Geet couldn't see where she was.
She tried to move, but she couldn't.
Her legs were tied.
Her hands were tied.
Then suddenly, there was light everywhere. The light was sharp, so Geet had to close her eyes to prevent from going blind.
She slowly opened her eyes and saw the face she didn't even expect to see.
Dev.
With a pistol in his hands.
Geet: "AAAH!" she screamed and woke up. She looked frantically around herself and quickly switched the light on.
She was here.
In her bedroom.
Geet suddenly wondered something.
Even if Dev tried to kill her, she couldn't die because she was an immortal.
She smiled and smacked her forehead with the heel of her hand.
It was only a bad dream.
She closed her eyes and breathed a soft sigh of relief. She then turned to look at the clock. It was only 2:00am.
Great.
She reached out for the jug of water on the bedside table without looking and then picked it up. It was empty.
Geet: "I must have forgotten" she said and then climbed out of bed.
Her teeth chattered.
It wasn't even cold in this room.
She wrapped a blanket around herself and then picked up the jug. She exited her bedroom and stepped inside her kitchen.
It was right at that moment she realized she skipped dinner. Her stomach was growling now.
So she put the jug in the sink and then reached out for a bowl. She set it on the kitchen worktop and then skimmed through the draws to find some Instant Noodles to have. She switched on the kettle to heat up some water and once the kettle was done, she put the hot water in the bowl of Instant Noodles.
As she was making the noodles, she looked around herself conciously. She wanted to be out of this kitchen. She was starting to feel a bit uneasy.
She quickly grabbed a spoon and held the bowl of noodles and turned around. The bowl nearly slipped out of her hands as she saw Maan casually leaning against the table with his arms across his chest. He whistled some tune and then looked into Geet's eyes.
Maan stared at Geet intensely.
Maan: "Everything OK?" he asked and narrowed his eyes, just like he did when he knew something was wrong.
Geet took a sharp breath and then let it out.
Geet: "You scared me" she asked and then sat down on the table.
Maan bent over and whispered in her ear.
Maan: "Aren't you already scared?"
Geet: "No" she lied even though she knew she would be caught sooner or later anyway.
Maan: "Liar" he whispered again and kissed her neck.
Geet shuddered.
Geet: "Bad dream" she said. Well at least this wasn't a lie.
Maan: "And?" he said softly and massaged her shoulders.
Geet: "And... And" she stuttered and laid back on her chair. Maan's hands worked like magic. She felt the pain and tense that was travelling up and down her back slowly fade away.
Maan: "And..." he said, waiting for her to continue.
Geet: "I just... Feel lonely thats all" she lied again.
Maan stopped massaging her shoulders and reached into his pocket, only to find the two sticky notes which Geet had ripped up earlier. He held it out in front of her.
Geet gasped.
Maan: "What's this?" he said in a low voice
Geet: "I ripped that --" she said and suddenly realized. He had powers.
Geet sighed.
Geet: "I got them when I came home from your house. I don't know who is sending them. I think it's probably a prank" she said
Maan: "A prank? Someone sneaking into your flat and sticking threatening notes everywhere? you call that a prank?" he yelled and slammed the notes on the table. He looked angrily, straight ahead.
Geet gulped.
Maan bent over to her ear again.
Maan: "Stay away from Dev" he whispered and gave a light kiss on her neck. He then vanished in thin air.
Geet could still smell his perfume and precense around the room. She smiled. Maan was there to protect her.
Feeling safe again, she gobbled up her Instant Noodles and fell into a deep sleep on the table.
