Chapter Seven

'Help'

Maan clasped Geet's hand tighter and held her behind himself.

'Rahul, I really recommend you get lost from here' Maan roared.

'Maan, don't come between us, you don't know anything.'

'And I don't want to know anything, just leave Geet alone. She obviously doesn't want you around her.' Maan replied, trying to stay calm.

Rahul moved forward in the attempt to take Geet's arm, but was unsuccessful as Maan stepped in front.

'Rahul, I wouldn't if I was you' Maan warned.

'Well I want my Geet back' Rahul said.

'I'm not you Geet anymore' Geet whispered timidly from behind Maan.

Maan, hearing Geet's gentle voice, melted and pulled her hand and started to walk away.

'Geet, I'm not going anywhere, don't you worry!' Rahul warned.

Walking to the nearest seating place, Maan helped Geet sit down and sat opposite her, all the time holding her hand, with Geet still shaken.

'Geet... I don't know if I should ask this... but how do you know Rahul?' Maan asked hesitantly.

'Woh... Rah... Ermm'

'Geet, stop, it doesn't matter, just calm down.' Maan said.

Gently letting go of her hand, he was surprised when she held on, and kept looking around.

'Woh nahin ayegaa'

Geet looked at Maan, feeling very safe at that moment in time. She was just staring at him oblivious to her surroundings.

'Geet..' Maan whispered.

Embarrassed, Geet looked away, but still didn't leave his hand.

'Geet, here I'll give you my number, just give me a ring if you need anything, and I mean anything..' Maan said.

Geet nodded gently, and handed her phone to Maan, where he entered his number and pressed save, but what he saw next surprised him slightly.

'Previously saved'

Wondering how his number had already been in Geet's phone, he looked for his number, and found it under the name which made him smile.

'Anjaana..'

'Geet, I don't need to save my number' Maan said smiling and returning the phone.

'Woh... kyon?' She asked.

'You will find out...' Maan simply stated.

Not wanting to ask any more questions, Geet finally let go of Maans hand and got up.

'Thanks once again, Erm I should be going now' Geet said.

Smiling she slowly walked away, with continuous turn around to look at Maan.

'Don't, worry, you can ring me for help anytime' Maan said behind her.

'Magar... how?' she asked.

Maan smiled, and then simply winked, and walked away.

'What did that mean?' Geet questioned herself.

Maan went to his room, to pick up his final luggage, and then checked his phone, when something caught his mind. Going into his contacts, he texted his Anjaani.

'I'll be here, anytime for help' Geet read aloud. Confused at why Anjaana was saying something like that, it suddenly clicked inside her.

'Maan, thanks' Maan read aloud and smiled, glad Geet had caught on.

Smiling he took his hand luggage and departed the hotel for his home, with a content smile on his face that on this visit he had achieved something.

'Hello, Dev, I'll be home tonight' Maan said.

'Bro, thats fine... I have to tell you something though..' Dev said worried.

'Kya? Daadi maa teek hain?' Maan asked worried.

'Haan Bro, Daadi maa is fine, woh...'

'Dev...' Maan said, which Dev knew was the cue to spill the beans.

'Bro, Daadi maa has called a girl's family tonight to our house, when you return, as a potential daughter-in-law' Dev said quietly.

'WHAT?'

'Bro I wanted to say something earlier, but Daadi maa had me swear upon her life I wouldn't say till today.' Dev said guiltily.

'Dev, its fine, don't worry, I'll do something..' Maan said anger still building inside him.

'But Bro, why, there is no one in your life, your twenty six.. Isn't it time to get married?' Dev asked his Bro. 'I wouldn't mind having a bhabie in the house.'

'Dev, Shut it, you will get a bhabie when I want so.' Maan roared shutting the phone.

Resting his head back on the seat of the car, Maan wondered of what to do.

'Maan, Looks like you can't save yourself this time... Ladki toh dekhne parregee, uff Daadi Maa'
