Part 7:
Geet moves back away from the bed, fixing herself up. She was still wearing her red coat, and noticed that his apartment was quite freezing.
Geet: You have no heat kya?
Maan: sniffling, No I think I better call up the RA( resident assistant) and inform her. He started to get up and grab his cell phone. As he took his hands out from the blanket Geet noticed that he was wearing a black muscle shirt and closed her eyes.
Maan: Oops sorry. He said putting his blanket back up and laughing. Now come on don't act like you've never seen a guy like this before. He sneezed.
Geet: Well I think you should stop acting like Mr. Muscleman and wear some clothes so maybe you can stop sneezing!
Maan: Oh wow, itni si der mein you checked out my muscles too, nice, he winked.
And Mr. Muscleman..i like that name even better'and for your information I sleep like this and the heat is crazy at night time so yea'
Geet: Ok ok enough of the explanations. Can you please wear a shirt now?
Maan: Can u grab me something from my closet?
Geet: Yea sure. She went over to his closet and she was quite surprised at what she saw. It was extremely organized with everything in place. Then her eyes fell on a holiday gift bag. She peeked inside and saw something wrapped in black wrapping paper that had pink hearts. She wondered what it was and was about to touch the bag when Maan called from behind.
Maan: Did you find anything yet? I have plenty of shirts, or are you trying to pick out a favorite or something? Don't worry I'll look handsome in all. She turned back and he winked and smiled! Oh how she could just melt at that smile of his.
She picked out a light blue long-sleeved shirt for him and when he put it on, she noticed how it really brought out the color of his eyes. She kept staring at his eyes.
Maan: Are you ok? He said smirking.
Geet: Yea'she said dazed..yea..ummm so did you take any meds for the cold?
Maan: No my body is just aching and I just didn't feel like getting up you know.
Geet: OMG your body is aching, OMG maybe it is because you picked me up yesterday like that! Oh I feel sooo bad, this is all my fault first I took your scarf and made you get the cold and now your body hurts from picking me up! Great I am soo terrible.
Maan: Oh come on Geet, relax! It's nothing like that! The body ache is just due to the fever, don't blame yourself.
Geet: No no I feel really bad, I need to make it up to you. Wait let me get you some Ibuprofen but I think you didn't have anything to eat either right? Ok I am going to make you something, just wait.
Maan: Geet, he said holding her hand, this is really not necessary, I'll be fine, Vicky was supposed to get me something, I don't know where he is, you really don't need to'.
Geet put her hand on top of his.
Geet: Maan please let me.
Maan agreed and Geet went to the kitchen.
Maan: Geet if you are going on over to the kitchen, I think you should take off your coat. I mean your going to start feeling hot.
Geet: Uh yea, Geet actually wanted to keep the coat on, since she had just come out from her apartment in her night suit, she was wearing sweatpants that said NYU on the side but her top was a red tanktop. She thought she would just go and check up on him and come back quickly to her apartment. Now it would be too embarrassing to be in front of Maan is in such attire.
Geet: No umm, I am fine, it's cold.
Maan: Ok as you wish. Maan shrugs.
While Geet was busy making soup for Maan, it had started snowing like crazy outside. When Geet had left her apartment it was a little flurry, but now the snow was coming down hard, about 2-3 inches an hour.
Back at Geet's apartment:
Trish: Tomorrow we need to exchange our Secret Santa gifts!! I am soo excited I wonder what I am going to get!
She was sitting on the sofa, watching the football game arm in arm with Vicky.
Sharon: Tumhay gifts khi pari hai, did you look outside, it's a blizzard out there, Geet wapis kaisay aaegi?
Trish: Don't worry she'll manage. In her head she was trying to imagine all ways possible to bring Geet closer to Maan.
Vicky: Trish I had to get something for Maan, poor guy is sick , why did you call me here?
Trish: Oh don't worry about him, Geet will take care of him I am sure! You are worried more about a guy then your girlfriend!!! OMG Vicky I didn't know you were like that!!! Tum ladkon ko pasand karthay ho!!! Yeh kab hua? She said like a drama queen.
Vicky: Hey quit it!! He said, fine, I'll just text him saying I can't make it.
Back at Maan's apartment:
Maan got the text, Maan from his room.
Maan: Geet I am glad you came over! Vicky can't make it, so atleast I'll get some food now. Thanks.
Geet: No problem, just wait a few more minutes the soup is almost done.
Geet brought over the soup for Maan.
Maan was about to take the bowl in his hand but his hands were shaking from the cold.
Geet: Umm I don't think that's a good idea now! Wait let me just help you.
Geet pulled over a chair from his study table next to the bed. She took a spoonful of the soup and put it in front of Maan.
Geet: Here, she smiled.
Maan: He took a sip and said "Hahh" as the warm soup went down his throat.
Geet: How is it?
Maan: Mmm..perfect'just like you, he winked'
Geet: What? Geet was flustered and she shook the bowl in her hand and dropped some soup on her coat.
Maan: Oh no, oops sorry..
Geet looked down at her coat which was quite wet now, and now the hot soup was seeping through her sleeve to her hand.
Maan: Ahh I think u should really take off that coat now.
Geet: ohhh..she makes a face'yea..well..she realizes she has no choice and slowly starts taking off her coat turning away from Maan.
Maan sees her slim figure, which was revealed by the tight tank top, as before he had always seen her outside and in coats.
Maan's was left agape...
