Next morning both sid and rahul wakes up early.Sid on his way drops Rahul to school, he then reaches the hospital and is waiting at the reception to be taken to his ward.Sid looks at his watch to look at the time and is satisfied to have arrived early.He then pulls unbuttons his jacket and takes a seat on the chair in the waiting area. On the other hand in the ward Ridhima and Tamana are talking to each other and thinking of what they should expect from the new boss. Everyone walks into the conference hall where few nurses are already seated.Rids and tam sit next to each other.
Rids and have tam have known each other ever since Rids had joined St Paul's over a month ago.They get along well.However, none of them know that they share a common past at some point.Tam lost her husband Aniket in an accident 3 yrs ago since then moved to shilma and has been living with her daughter there.
Tam: tumhe kya lagtha hai how will our new boss be ?
Rids : he will be an old bloke because apparently he is well educated and is counted as one of the best in his field, aur ha ithna bada post thoo sirf years of practise ke bade he miltha..
Tam: I reckon he will be a guy in his late 40s, grey hair , nerdy glasses and a very geeky
Nurse 1 : kash ki koyi young sa doctor hota
Tam: kyon ?
Nurse 1: atleast meri kahani thoo set ho jathi
Both tam and rids burst out laughing on that. Sid is now received by a senior doctor Max and then is guided on his way to the conference hall. He makes his way through the lift on to the corridors, just then Ridhima and tam are paged saying there is a new admission in the ward and they are requested to come of the duty to assist the case. They excuse themselves and leave through the door at the back of the hall and sid enters through the front door he sees the someone with pink dupatta leaving. Sid ignores it and concentrates on meeting the new members. Sid is soon taken to his cabin and left in to settle in.He places his bag on the nearest table, takes of the jacket and hangs it on a hanger and puts it away he then loosens his tie and takes it off completely, he then goes to the nearest window and enjoy the scenery, he drags his glasses up his pointed nose and then turns around to look at the clock, he stays near the window and looks around and sees the hording 'St Paul's hospital'.
S:sanjeevani chodne ke bade Kabhi nahi socha tha ki kabhi ek Indian hospital kame karuga, India is desh se yadeen judi huvi hai no matter how much I try to get over from those memories I still find it hard, akhir mai bhi thoo insane hoo, Rahul yaha hai thoo chah kar bhi is desh se natha nahi tode saktha ,I too have feelings isi liye 7 salo thak kabhi India mai long stay nahi kiya, but kabe thank zindagi se unhi doore bagtha rahunga,its time to face it I guess. So dr modi back to business, you have a call from life and yeh in saloo mai kisi bhi ladki ko apne pass ane nahi diya but iss bar agar koyi dang ki mili jo rahul ko bhi apnae thoo I promise I will give it a go.zindagi mai failures ane ka mathlab yeh nahi ki zindagi rukh jaye , infact we have to overcome these failures and move on warna mere aur Arman ke beech mai farak kya reh jayega lol ..But I have admit Ridhima somewhere deep down I still do miss u , this might sound morally wrong because u are someone else's wife today , but kya karu I have moved on from u but yet not moved on because I have never found anyone better than u.People say that good things end so that even better things can come along.LOL but I guess in my life I am worst hit in terms of that…kal jabe rahul asked me y I left you I told him the real reason but the pain that I endured inorder to do that is something I cannot articulate and pain is still down there somewhere.Sid now has watery eyes.He takes his glasses off and wipes his eyes.yeh mai bbhi na kaisi emotional bathe kar reha hu..
Sid turns around and looks at the table, he goes close to the table and undoes his cuff's and rolls his sleeves inorder to resume charge.He goes near the chair to grab the lab coat when his eyes catch attention of the mini calander that was placed on his table. He goes close and sees the date to be 24th November.He bends down and picks the calendar and runs his fingers over the date. 7YRS ago esse he kisi din I handed the divorce papers to ridhima.the first step jab maine use apne farz se assad kiya thaa.meri kahani bhi na one sided love story nay such thii .Someone knocks on the door,sid puts the calendar down and glances to the door 'come in'
Max: hi Sid I came to fetch u for ward rounds
Sid: sure , I am all ready
They walk down into the ward and assemble at the nurses station.He stands there along with max facing the wall.Sid is looking through the files, when tam and rids are coming down the corridor just behind him.They were in their blue hospital pyjamas and gown.The girls were facing sid's back and therefore did't pay any notice.However, max turns around just in time to see the ladies.
Tam and rids walk towards max as he waves at them, sid is still unaware of their approaching presence and has his eye on the file.The ladies reach where max is standing and are still facing sid's back.
Max: hi ladies , lemme introduce you to your new boss.
Just then Sid turns around, A tall lean man in a perfectly laundered linen shirt beneath his lab coat. .His features were sculped, his hair crisp and black as jet',his jaws were quite defined and looked very manly.. both ladies are shocked to see him.On the other hand both sid and tam are shocked to see teach other
Rids was even more shocked seeing how familiar that name was to Tam because not everyone knew him as Sid.
Tam: omg!! I can't believe its you
Sid: I can't believe my eyes either Tam its you and rihima
Tam is surprised she glances on rids and rids stares back @ sid who is looking into her eyes too….
Tam: tum log ek doosre ko janthe ho ?
Rids: haaa ( in a blank tone as if she didn't know what to introduce herself as in relation to sid )
Sid: vohhh…ummm hum log pehe sath kame kar chuke hai( looking away from rids )
Tam: reallyyy..omg!
Rids: aur tum kaise..( tails off)
Tam: we did our internship, well part of it together in sanjeevani hospital
Rids was shocked that Tam was also from sanjeevani although rids tam have been gd colleagues for the last months and what she always knew about tam was she was a single mother.She was further shocked on realizing how somewhere they shared common roots…
Max on the other is also surprised to see all these doctors knowing each other
Max: right I guess I don't have to introduce anyone now as u all know each other, still I will do my duty this is Dr Modi, our new chief consultant and head of department .
The ladies look with complete shock
Max: right so please excuse me and Dr modi, as we need to carry on with rounds
Tam: sure
Rids and tam stay still there watching them disappear from their glances at the end of the corrioder
Rids and tam look at each other.
Tam: sooo how was your experience working with Sid from past
Rids gets uncomfy :ummm….it was k..k
She quickly changes the topic
Rids: how do u know him
Tam: we did our internship together @ sanjeevani . U know in the beginning I use to hate him but then slowly ( tam realises where she was heading towards ) so zips up
Rids : slowly ?( curiously)
Tam: kuch nahi, but he has definitely changed. changed as in a very big change the guy who was forced to come to India to finish off his internship, the guy who never had any aim in his life is today one of the top notch in his field. That indeed is very dramatic change.
Rids: so u know him from his very early days ?
Tam: yep from those days…
At that point in time rids is paged and heads off to attend her case excusing herself from Tam..They don't see each other until break when she is in the staff room getting her things together to go on break. She grabs a file of her latest case, thinking she could have a flip through when she is having few bites of her lunch. Rids holds the file and steps outside the room, she opens the file and starts walking on the corridor. At the end of the corridor she accidently runs into a figure from the other end. She losses her balance and trolls. Suddenly a pair of strong arms slip around her waist and holds her half-way above the floor, the touch of those fingers were familiar. Those tense muscles pressed against her cheast and the smell of that after shave all bringing back those memories from the past.She looks up and slowly her eyes meet it was Sid, he quickly stabilises her back Sid looks awkwardly at Rids says 'sorry' he then glaces around not knowing what to say when his eyes catch glance of the file that was lying on the floor, he bends down to pick the file she had dropped and the papers that got scattered from the file. Rids is in a slight state of shock and is trying to regain her composure. She sees sid gathering stuff from the floor and quickly goes to aid him.As she bends their foreheads collide and rids fingers instantaneously goes around sid's forehead making sure if he was k. Sid and rids have a very brief eye lock but he then moves from her reach, while putting his hand back.He rises up and so does Rids
Rids raises her fingers to touch his forehead but stops herself realising
They both together to each other : tum teek ho na ?
They again feel the awkwardness of the situation and look away.
Sid clears his thoat : tum theek ho ?
Rids: yess, aur tum ?
Sid: haaa..voh! I have got to go meri ek meeting hai abhi , saying this he walks away from rids without looking back .However rids looks back at him until he disappears from her vision.
Sid walks straight into his cabin , he opens the boor, chucks the seth away on the table and sits on the sofa looking around…He rubs his forehead.
Sid: arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!1 I hate this I ddn't come all the way india to run away from such awkward situations, dude u r working with ridhima u will have to face this and I reckon she won't be feeling this awkward. So don't make a fool out of yourself by behaving like a 19year old teenager.
He looks to the ceeling ' ape bhina kaise kaise ajeeb situations maid al detho ho, maine apko kaha thana salo pehle ki muje use hamesha ke liye doore jana haI, Maine hamesha ke liye bola tha not ki 7years ke brak ke bade fie se mile, break-ke-bade yeh sabe real life mai nahi hota hai..'He closes his eyes and rests on the sofa..
After few minutes there is a knock at the door SID opens his eyes
Sid: come in
Tam walks through the door
Tam: I am on break so are u , so thought why not catch up
Sid: sure, have a seat
Tam sits on the couch opposite to sid…
Sid: tumhe kuch khana nahi hai
Tam: ofcourse but after a little while with u
Tam: so where were u all this time
Sid: bus around the world, padyi naukri and aur padayi
Tam: I can see signs of padayi , otherwise tumhare jaisa ithna young bandha kabhi yaha thak nahi pahunch saktha so early in carrer..
Sid: lol young, mai bhi budda ho reha hu 28 ho chukka hu..meri bath chodo tum kasi ho aur aniketh..
Tam's expression change and she looks low
Tam: he passed away in an accident 3 years ago
Sid: oo I am sorry
Tam: dw but meri ek beti hai so she is everything me
Sid: o! so how old is she ?
Tam: she is 5
Sid: aww !
Tam: soo tumhari shadi huyi?
Sid: haaa huyi thee bahut sale pehle and we sperated 9months after
Tam: I am sorry ,
Sid: lol dw hissab brabar hogaya hai bt dw tumhari tarah mera bhi ek beta hai
Tam: soo fir se shadhi nahi ki kabhi? Kabhi koyi ?
Sid : koyi essi mili nahi
Tam: come on sid, tum dhikne mai ache thoo ??
Sid: tha fir bhi koyi mili nahi, tum nahi janti pyar ke mamle mai I am hard hit lol

Tam: omg! I am sooo sorry..tum yaha khavoge ya ?
Sid: soch reha tha neeche cafeteria mai javu ?
Tam: that's great mai bhi usi taraf ja rehi hu, kya tum sath chaloge ?
Sid: sure
Tam and talk and make their way down to the canteen.
Sid and tam pick up sandwiches for themselves and look around for a place to sit suddenly when tam's eye catch Ridhima sitting in a corner and reading a file.
Tam: chalo ridhima ke sath bayathe hai
Before sid could reply tam starts walking towards rids and go and sit there. sid walks after her to stop her but she is there even before he could stop her.
Tam and sid go and stand in front of ridhima, she doesn't realise as she is quite absorbed in a case.
Tam shocks rids with a loud hi,
Rids( she sees sid and tam ): oo ! hi guies
Sid waves at her in a gesture of greetings.
Tam:: kya bath hai ridhima tum thoo bahut interested thii uss case mai..
Rids looks at sid their eyes meet
Rids: ha vooh ek important case hai…
Tam: essa konsa case hai bhayi zara hue bhi thoo bathavo
Rids opens her mouth to say when tam interprets..
Tam: oo madam pls don't mai thoo bus mazak kar rehi theee…bus ek break he miltha hai in sab se door thoo
Rids looks away
Tam: omg! Sid mai thoo tumhe aur rids ko bath kar ne he nahi dee, vaise tum log bhi ek doosre ko pehle se janthe soo..tell me about it
Sid and rids look at each other blankly
Sid: ummm…voh hum , she was a senior doctor at sanjeevani while I was doing my internship.
Rids looks up at sid knowing there was an awkwardness moreover she knew sid would never introduce her as anything especially after all that has happen before.
Tam: oo thoo tum logone sath thoo kame kiya thana ?
Sid: ha voh ek do bar rhidima ko I mean Dr ridhima ( rids and sid look at each other at that point ) ko assist kiya thaa
Tam: voooh!..aj bhi vahi respect , kya bath hai sid tum thoo voh purane sid he nahi rehe
Sid: insane ko badalna padtha hai waqt ke sath ..yehi nazakath hai zindagi ki,
Rids lifts an eye at sid and she realizes the sadness in the statement.
Tam: kya bath hai sid bahut bade ho gaye..jis sid ko mai janthi thii voh
Sid: voh tha purana sid
Tam: ya joo thaa bahut bey fikar. So what made u change ?
Sid: we have to change according to what life demands of us…
Tam: still sid essa kya life ne tumse demand kiya jot um ithne badal gaye ?
Sid: you we face problems in life but that doesn't mean our life is over we have to over come those problems, but inorder to overcome those problems we will have to bring certain changes with in ourselves or in other words we have to learn to adapt in life, adapt physically, mentally and emotionally. And the person who can adapt this way will be the fittest organism to survive. But there comes instances in life when we may even loose the reason to survive but gracious heavenly god will then someone into you life who will change your life forever and then on u live to please that person.
Rids listens carefully enjoying his thoughts.She has her eyes fixed on him as she is absorbing in every emotion that comes out with those words.
Tam: wovv! Sid tum thoo vakay badal gaye…
Tam's pager beeps
Tam: ah gotta go emergency hai ward mai
Sid: sure
Tam: cya guies
As soon as tam leaves sid's pager beeps,rids looks at sid questioningly
Sid: gotta leave too emergency hai.
Sid , tam and rids don't see each other for rest of their shift. Tam finishes her shift prior to sid's and ridmia's .Sid and rids finish their shift at 8.It was a long day for both of them.Sid closes the doors of his cabin and walk down the corridor towards the lift.He takes the lift to the ground floor.When he approaches the reception his eyes meets a familiar gaze, it was Ridhima.Co-incidently she looks up too.Sid quickly looks away and walks down to the reception with his eyes down. Sid walks to rids
Sid: ghar ja rehi ho?
Rids: ha..aur tum ?
Sid: ha mai bhi but socha ki ek drink leloo cafeteria .
rids: sure
sid : would you like to have some ?
rids: noo I am fine
sid: pee lo ithne salo bade pocha
rid: thikh hai
sid: ek minute I will be back
Sid comes back in few mintues
Sid:yeh lo that's ur cappuccino
Rids looks into sid's eyes
Rid: tumhe yad hai ?
Sid: kuch yade humesha keliye sath hoti hai
Sid looks away and takes a zip from his drink.
Sid: mai car park ki taraf ja reha hu …tum ?
Rids: mai bhi ussi taraf ja rehi hu
They both start walking together without looking at each other
Sid: sooo, long time…kaisi ho ?
Rids: achi huu aur tum ?
Sid :vaisa jaise pehle thaa ..umm..hows arman ?
Rids stops walking, sid realises and looks at sid
Rid : he is okay..
Then they start walking again
Sid: so yaha kab join kiya ?
Rids: kuch mahine pehle
Rids: so india ke bade kya kiya ?
Sid :well I had a scholarship form a university in Australia waha pada fir kame kiya then moved to London aur vir vaha pe kam kiya…
Rids:ahh…ummm.. shadhi ki
Sid stops stolling at that point, he turns in her direction and gazes into her eyes deeply as if those eyes were trying to say something…
There was a moment of silence, it was broken when the phone ran
Sid looks at the phone
Sid: rahul
Sid to rids : excuse me
Sid: ha rahul bolo
Rahul: dad where are u ?
Sid: dad ( rids : 'dad' sid ka beta bhi hai ) is on his way he will be home soon
Rahul: fine see you soon daddy
Sid: see u soon son
Sid looks at the phone and smiles at his son's sweetness, he slides the phone into his pocket and looks up to rids
Rids : tumhara beta bhi hai?
Sid: yh
rids: kabhi apni family se milvaoge ?
sid: sure
They start walking again but this time in scilence, although there was absolute silence there were still words being spoken in their minds
Rids: Sid bahut age nikal chukka hai, uska beta hai , a wife perhaps too.He seems to be happy and everything is fine.I am hapy for you rids..
Sid: I left you years ago for your happiness aur shayad aje that sacrifice has paid off because you seem to be happy, bus vahi chatha hu , all that I did in the past seem to be meaningful today although its still a fresh wound for me…
Soon they reach the car park.
Sid: right my car is parked here so I shall say good bye now
Rids: sure,I am glad to see you again and very proud indeed to see the professional status you have achieved..
Sid: thanku that's very kind of u
