Dear Readers,

Thank you for your wonderful comments on the previous part. I am sure some of the readers must be over the moon as the story takes a turn in Mayank's favour and both Mayank and Nupur seem to be approaching a happy life together. Being a tragedy queen and all, I must say its a heck of an opportunity for me to witness such a happy bunch of readers 😊 So thank you again...please accept it as the MaYur anniversary gift for you all.

Now moving forward, I am sure most of you realise that Intikhaab is approaching an end. I have been very occupied in my thoughts to justify the ending. With so many facts and revelations and sudden twists ahead, I thought it will be a good idea to end the story in phases.

So we will have 3 parts from this point on, relatively short ones as there is not much to say but whatever needs to be said it needs time for readers to absorb and for me to relay. All the 3 parts will come back to back in the coming week or so. Therefore, you can either comment on each part or hold them until the last segment but please do press the LIKE button just to mark that you have read the part so that I can upload the next part.

Last of all, I am not sure if my ending will be accepted by you all but as usual my objective remains the same which is to portray yet another shade of love...love that is a unique emotion and sometimes breaks all the rules of the universe.

Nupur is stunned by what she has just read….she is staring at the card and probably read it millions of times just to be sure. As the whole thing sinks in…she begins to make sense of everything. She recalls how Shilpa insisted her to do the shopping with her and how she was buying everything according to Nupur's choice. She recalls how everything that was selected in the shops, Shilpa would try it on Nupur first to be sure if it suits and fits her. She recalls Aparna and Shilpa doing the jewellery choices together….so they all knew! And Diya! Did she know as well? Is she part of this whole plan? Why didn't they tell her? Then again, if they would have told her she would have rejected this wedding on the first place. But why now? why reveal the news just a week before the ceremony? What makes them think that she will agree now…what is happening?? she asks herself. She has never been so confused…so many things happening at the same time..she just doesnt' know how to react! Should she be happy that Mayank did not betray her trust?…the fact that it was all just circumstantial!! Or should she feel guilty for hurting Mayank so much who was innocent all along or feel ashamed that she has caused so much damage to her heart and soul because of a misunderstanding. And now, she is completely lost with what has been happening with the wedding arrangements…she was part of a plan in which she fully participated not knowing that it was her own wedding that she was doing all the planning and shopping for. The more she thinks about everything, more she gets confused and lost. There's got to be an answer to all this…she says to herself when Aparna knocks on the door. Seeing her mother standing near the door, suddenly Nupur feels a sense of security and comfort. She runs to her mother's arms and holds her tight hoping that her mother will fix everything in her life and she need not be afraid of anything anymore! Aparna, on the other hand, can fully understand what her daughter may be going through as she holds her child in her arms trying to comfort her without saying a single word.

N: maa….humain kuch samajh nahi aaraha. yeh sab…yeh sab kya hai aur kaise..kab se?
A: (as she sits Nupur down and kisses her forehead) beta…hum jaante hai iss waqt tere zehen me kya kya khayal aarahe honge. sau sawal uth rahe honge aur humain nahi pata k hum unn saare sawalon k jawab de sakenge ya nahi. per ab waqt aagaya hai k tujhe sab kuch sach sach pata chal jaaye. isse pehle k bohat dair hojaaye aur kuch aur log taqleef me aajaye.
N: matlab?
A: (as she walks towards the shopping bags and starts shuffling the sarees) na jaane kitne dino se maine aur tere baba ne iss din ke khwaab dekhe. aur aaj woh khwaab sach hone jaa raha hai per jin haalaton me yeh sab kuch hua ya horaha hai woh shayed humnain apne khwabon khayalon me bhi nahi socha tha. phir bhi koi shikayet nahi kyunki hamari bacchi ki shaadi uss ghar pe horahi hai jahan usse woh saare khushiyan aur pyar milenge jo hum dono ne tere liye duaon me maangi. Mayank tujhe bohat khush rakkhega Nupur..
N: (gives a curious stare to Aparna)
A: (smiles at her) yehi soch rahi hogi na k mujhe yeh sab kaise pata? humain to uss waqt se pata hai jab Shilpa yahan aayi. aate hi ussne Mayank k liye tera rishta maanga mujhse aur tere baba se. hum to hairaan hi hogaye kyunki Mayank ki shaadi Raheja bhai ki beti se honewali thee, humain card bhi mile. kuch samajh nahi aaraha tha. phir Shilpa ne bataya Mayank aur tere baare me k kaise tum dono ne ek doosre ki dosti ko pyar me badla aur shaadi ka faisla bhi kiya. halankein yeh sab sunnke humain kaafi ajeeb lagah kyunki itna sab kuch hogaya aur tunay apne maa ko yeh sab batane ki zaroorat nahi samjhi? tujhe Mayank pasand tha..shaadi karna chahte the tum dono ne to phir bataya kyun nahi?
N: nahi maa…aisi baat nahi hai. sab kuch itna achanak hogaya!! humnain to unhe abhi tak dekha bhi nahi. bas isse pehle kuch soch paate yeh sab hogaya. hum bas aapko batane hi waale the k woh shaadi ka card..aur phir..(she starts hyperventilating)
A: thik hai beta..hum samajh sakte hai. Mayank ne Shilpa ko sab kuch bata diya tha k Simran aur Mayank ki shaadi ka sunn ke tujhe kuch ghalat fehmi hogayi…uss waqt mujhe aur tere baba ko samajh aaya teri beemari ka wajah aur saath me yeh ahsaas bhi k tu bhi Mayank ko kitna chahti hai. iss liye humnain Mayank k liye tere rishte k liye koi aitraaz nahi kiya. aur sach kahe to Shilpa aur Sharma bhai ki shuru se yehi khwahish thee k tum dono ki shaadi ho…bas waqt k saath na jaane woh yaadein aur woh vaade kahan kho gaye..(she sighs). per tum dono ne hum buzurghon ko apne woh bhulay hue vaadein yaad dila diya.
N: per maa yeh shaadi…yeh sab? humain bataya kyun nahi aap logon ne?
A: yeh bhi Shilpa ki kehne per nahi bataya. ussne kaha k Mayank ne usse request kiya k tujhe iss shaadi k baare me abhi kuch na bataya jaaye. Simran ki baat ko lekar tu kaafi naraaz thee aur ussne bas yehi kaha k woh tujhe mana lega, samjha lega tujhe aur phir sahi waqt pe shaadi k liye tujhe raazi bhi kar lega. per tab tak shaadi ki tayyari chalti rehni chahiye. pata nahi kyun Shilpa ko Mayank per bhorosa tha k woh sahi waqt pe tujhe mana lega aur shaadi k liye tayyar kar lega. Shilpa ki aitmaad ko dekh kar humain bhi yaqeen hogaya aur phir humnain wohi kiya jo Shilpa ne kaha aur jissme anjaane me tunay bhi hamara saath diya. Mayank ki kehne per shaadi ki yeh saari khareedari teri pasand k mutalliq hui. yeh saaree, yeh gehne yeh sab tere liye hi khareedi gayi. kitna chahta hai woh baccha tujhe..aur tu hai k….apne naraazgi ko door kar beta. tujhe ek ghalat fehmi dikh raha hai per usska pyaar aur usska intezar nahi dikh raha. woh yaqeen woh bharosa jisske sahare woh tujhe apnaanay ki dawaa kar raha hai woh nahi dikh raha tujhe kya? beta..shaadi k kuch hi din reh gaye hai…tujhse yeh sab baatein aur chupana humain sahi nahi laga. ab faisla tere haathon me hai. teri zindagi hai beta, koi zabardasti nahi hoga tere saath. agar tu Mayank ko nahi samajh paayi, usske pyaar ko mehsoos na kar paayi..usse maaf nahi kar paayi to usske saath zindagi bitana tere liye sahi nahi hoga. bas apni maa ki ek baat yaad rakhna beta…zindagi me haalat kabhi kabhi aise mahaul bana leta hai k humain lagta hai k iss mushkil ka koi hal nahi ya phir zindagi khatam ho chuki. yeh sab zindagi ka hissa hai aur har koi inn halaton se kam ya zyada guzarta zaroor hai…per har kisike kismet me itna chaahne wala nahi hota jo usse unn haalaton se bahar nikalne k liye usski madat kare…usska haath thaame…usska sahara banay.
N: humain kuch samajh nahi aaraha maa k kya karein ya na karein! na jaane yeh sab hamare saath hi kyun horaha hai!!
A: tu araam kar abhi. kal subhe soch samajh ker faisla karna. Shilpa aur Sharma bhaisaab bhi aanewale hai. mujhe yaqeen hai meri beti hamesha ki tarha apne dil ki sunegi aur dil se faisla legi

And she leaves Nupur alone. Everything is becoming much clearer now. Mayank never intended to marry Simran. As she touches her shopping she realises its all for her. Cunning but Mayank adopted a way to marry Nupur with all his faith that he will manage to convince her. This is how much he believes in her, in "them" actually. She feels guilty…
"hum kaise chukh gaye? kyun nahi unn per bharosa kar paaye? kyun nahi unhe mauka diya sab kuch batane ki? humain lagah hum hi hai jo unhe saalon se mohabbat karte aaye hai. per waqt aane per hum unnki tarha apna wafa nahi nibha paaye. mohabbat to har koi kar leta hai per usse shiddath se nibhana…unn ankahee vaadon ka wafa karna shayed har kisise nahi hota….unnse maafi bhi to maange to kaise! hum to bas ab yehi kar sakte hai k apni poori zindagi unnki chahat k naam kar de….taake uss ek lamha ko dhoondh paaye jinn me hum apni mohabbat ko unke qadmon pe rakh sake "

Nupur falls asleep…deeply lost in her thoughts and waits for the morning when she will give her consent to the wedding and speak to Mayank as well. She finds it so difficult to believe that all her dreams that she thought was shattered into pieces were actually being safely held by Mayank who didn't even let a single scratch on their dreams and hopes. Mayank's passion, his patience, his unconditional love and his faith have actually salvaged their relationship. A smile spreads on Nupur's face as she sinks into a deep sleep hoping for a new life to begin with the new dawn. But she is awaken before dawn by Aparna..that too with a worried tone

A: Nupur!!! beta..uth!! Nupurr….
N: kya hua maa? subha hogayi kya? (as she realises its not morning yet)
A: beta..Shilpa ka phone aaya tha. woh log aaj subhe ki flight se London wapas jaarahe hai
N: kya?? kyun? kya hua maa?
A: (hesitates slightly) woh beta Mayank…
N: Mayank? kya hua unhe? maa boliye…
A: usska accident hogaya hai. kal raat ko…drive karte hue….usse bohat chaut lagi hai. hospital me hai aur doctors keh rahe hai k shayed koi umeed na ho..

Nupur doesn't seem to hear anything anymore! She breaks down on her knees..there were no tears this time as if she doesn't know how to react anymore...
