Weeks passed. Angad and Kripa had been spending nearly all of their time together. They had become very good friends. Angad was surprised at the fact that he completely forgot he was a doctor and Kripa was his patient. Kripa had become a confidante of sorts. Angad knew he could share anything with her without the fear of being judged. He had never shared such a close relationship with anybody. Since his mother's death when he was a child, Angad's relationship with his father had been very awkward and cold, almost to the point that he considered Dilip to be his head doctor more than his dad. His only companion had been Dadi, but she lived in India and visited occasionally. Now he had Kripa. Somehow, despite having so many problems herself, Kripa made Angad feel complete. She put him at peace. Her thoughts always clouded his mind, regardless of what time of day it was or what he was doing.
Kripa on the other hand, had started to feel less numb. She was actually starting to trust Angad. This scared her very much. The last time she had trusted someone, the consquences had been disastrous. She did not want to trust anyone—heck she didn't even want to live anymore. But this man, this "doctor", had evoked a change in her. She liked spending time with him. In Angad she found a true friend. One she could depend on, one she could trust. But she didn't let her guard down, she didn't tell him completely of her past. It was too painful to think about. Sharing it with another human being was out of question.
One day, Angad got a call from India saying that Dadi was visiting him for sometime. Angad was estatic. He wasn't sure why, but he wanted Dadi to meet Kripa. He felt like besides his friendship, Dadi's affection was the only thing that he could offer her, and he knew she was desperately in need and search of motherly love. Kripa's parents had been dead since she was a kid, and she had been brought up by her uncle and his wife. They only looked after her because the court compensated them for it. That house was a living hell for Kripa. She had told Angad about all the times her aunt had beat her. About all the times they would taunt her for being a bad omen on their family. This made Angad's blood boil. How can someone even imagine hurting an angel like Kripa?
Finally, it was Dadi's arrival date. Angad had taken special permission from the hospital to take Kripa out for a couple of weeks, and with reluctance, the doctors had agreed. Kripa was one of the best-behaved patients, after all. Kripa was to stay at Angad's house with Dadi. He thought this would be very beneficial for Kripa.
So, they both went to the airport to receive dadi, but the flight was delayed for a couple of hours.
"ab kya karein?" asked Angad. "The flight wont come for another 4 hrs."
"we could go to someplace quiet and just walk around?" Kripa said thoughtfully. "it's been a long time since I've breath fresh air"
Angad nodded and smiled. He liked the fact that Kripa was opening up and taking initiative. They went to a quiet park. They talked for hrs. about things, about life, about relationships, about people. Angad was totally taken by Kripa's understanding of human nature. She seemed to have this sixth sense, and seemed very intone with the things around her. Never in his psychiatric career had he ran across such a profound thinker. Her thoughts totally mesmerized Angad. As Kripa continued telling him storied about her childhood (before her parents' death), Angad came to the realization that he was falling for Kripa.
