So you get a little sneak peek at Alex's past.

Little preview at the end of this update...

I'm being nice right? J

Chapter Four: I Know, Daddy.

"Alex-puthar...whatever decision you make, whether it's to abort, adopt out or keep...I'm with you...but you have to make the decision soon..."

Alexandra sighed as she paced around her bedroom, her tired body struggling to keep up with her chaotic mind. "I know Daddy..." She whispered for the seventh time in that hour, passing her father an irritated glance. He was more shaken up by this news than she was, but then again she'd been suspicious of this fact for more than a week now. She spun on her heel and stared into her full length mirror, leaning forward as if she wished she'd fall right into her own reflection and cease to exist. She exhaled loudly when after the sound of two sure footsteps, long tapered fingers pressed into her tight shoulders, kneading at her tensed muscles. "What do you think I should do M-"

---
"Alexandra-Ji..." Geet looked at the other woman warily. She didn't know what had come over her, but after that slap she had spent the next two hours telling a complete stranger everything about her Hoshiapur life, Maan Singh Khurana, her worries about her pregnancy and how she liked to wear pink panties to bed...the last part she probably should have kept to herself she thought regretfully. Babaji...apne mehre hoton peh taala kyun nahi laga diya?! Gungi pedha kardethe! Lekin yeh din nah dikathe! She scowled at her own stupidity then took a step forward, realising Alexandra hadn't moved. She seemed to be stuck in a far off thought. Ever since Geet had finished talking, or well sobbing Alexandra had been standing by the balcony doors and staring out the glass panes. Geet went up behind and followed her line of vision, seeing nothing but the night sky and its moon she lightly tapped Alexandra's shoulder.

"Huh?" Alexandra blinked and turned to find Geet looking at her as if she had sprouted speckled pink and yellow horns. "What?" She snapped, a brief expression of pain flashed across her face before returning to its normal look of contempt for Geet. "Mujhe kya dekh rahi ho?! Go, it's too late for me to take you to the Khurana Mansion now isn't it! Bedroom ke liye invitation chahiye?! It's past midnight idiot! Go to sleep!" She glowered at her and snapped her fingers in the direction of the bedroom door.

Geet took a step towards the bedroom door, hesitated and turned back. "Aapko apni baat batha kar...mehra maan halqa hogaya...for that thank you..." She smiled warmly at the woman, despite the fact Alexandra was now rolling her eyes.

"Haan, janthi hoon. Apna maan toh tumne halqa kardiya...lekin itne baatien kar keh mehra sar meh dard hogaya! Ab jao!" Alexandra stomped away into the guest room, slamming the door behind her...leaving a bemused Geet in the living room and sinking to the ground. Oh my God Daddy... Alexandra rubbed her forehead attempting to absorb all the information Geet had blabbed away too her. Fortunately she'd gotten what she wanted, she'd found out the girls connection to Maan. Unfortunately, she hadn't realised that Maan actually might be in love with someone. So now, her plan to pay him back had to change. She also hadn't expected for that ******* salwaar-kameez wearing mattar-brain to stir up memories that she had buried years ago...six years ago.

---

"Get up. NOW!" Alexandra yanked the duvet off the girl, throwing a now washed, dried and ironed blue salwaar kameez on top of Geet's face. It was eleven in the morning and this nautanki was still asleep. Alexandra had already exercised her limbs to near death, brought them back to life via a very cold shower, and got dressed, combed her hair, made breakfast and this leech was still snoring away? Veer Singh's never had much patience for slackers.

"Kabhie kethi ho go to sleep kabhie kethi ho get up, kyun aisa karti ho Alexandra-Ji?" Geet grumbled, opening her eyes blearily to the sunshine that had crawled into the room. She pulled the blue fabric off her face only to realise it was her own dress. "Aap neh...yeh sab..." A look of gratitude went ignored by Alexandra who was busy typing away on the computer that was hooked in the left corner of the bedroom. "Thank you..." Babaji, kitna gussa karti hai...lekin jab seh milli hai...mehra khyaal raqh rahi hai...Itni bhi buri nahi hai...Haina?

"You better get ready within half hour or else I'll smash your ******* pathetic brain out with a hammer!" Alexandra rolled her eyes at the ceiling when Geet gasped at the use of her swear word.

"Hai! Aap itni gandi galiyaan! Kyun?!" Geet clasped her hands together, jumping up in the bed and looked pleadingly up at the ceiling. "Babaji! Inko maaf kardo, please Babaji!" She yowled when a book hit the back of her head and grabbed her clothes rushing to the bathroom.

"I told you yesterday nitwit! No Babaji! Just Daddy!" Alexandra started tidying her bed her mood getting blacker by the second whilst the printer whirred behind her. Just like a child Daddy, I pity her unborn! How will she look after it if she can't look after herself!? Yeh ladki mujhe pagal karke rahegi. Jab dekho apke Babaji keh samne haath jorthi rethi hai! God has given her two hands why doesn't she use them?! Idiot!

Geet heard Alexandra stand behind the bathroom door and stilled, one hand in the middle of shampooing her hair the other quickly turning the water off to listen carefully.

"Once you've finished showering, breakfast is on the table. Then we'll talk...I-I've decided I'm going to help you."

Geet smiled slowly, Aahir apne mehre liya madat bahej dhi na? Yeh sirf apki Churail hai, haina? Mehra matlab...sirf apki koi Pari hai... She quickly adjusted her train of thought, not wanting to upset Babaji. Unfortunately Geet didn't see the cunning look that Alexandra was wearing at that moment, one hand holding a pen and the other holding the document she'd been working on all morning. "Lekin, kyun?" Geet asked innocently.

"Kyun keh..." Alexandra bit her lip; searching her mind for an excuse...she couldn't find one. "Erm...woh..." She glared at the bathroom door, "What's it to you huh?! Do you want my help or not? Otherwise you can run around screaming for Maan Sir all your life, tujshe kuch bhi nahi hoga! Samjhi."

Geet turned the shower back on and continued washing her hair, at Alexandra's retort she copied her and rolled her own eyes. "Jhi, Samajh gayi...ek aur baat...aap itni achi hindi bhol lethi ho...Phir aap English meh kyun baat karti ho?"

Alexandra sat down on the bed and slapped her forehead. Why does this girl ask so many stupid dumb-ass questions? Pathetic gadhi! "Tum English samajh sakthi ho, bhol sakthi ho...toh phir thum hindi kyun bolthi ho?"

"Yeh loh, yeh bhi koi poochni vali baath hui?" Geet returned to the room, a large towel wrapped around her body. Alexandra shook her head in disgust and looked the other way whilst the other girl changed into her salwaar-kameez. "Kyun khi meh Hindustani hoon!"

"Then that's answered your question hasn't it mattar-brain?!" Alexandra snapped back, "I'm English!"

"Haan! Tabhi toh! Meh soch rahi thi, keh apka rang itna gora kyun hain!?" Geet pushed her dress down and grabbed the towel again for her hair. "Phir aap...Veer Singh kaise?"

"Tum itne sawaal kyun poochti ho?!" Alexandra gasped, exasperated now. "My father was a Veer Singh! I was born in England!"

"Aur aapki Maa...?" Geet asked instantly, pushing pins into her hair before braiding it tightly. When Alexandra didn't reply she looked back to see the woman glowering at the ground. Kuch...zyaada pooch liya kya Babaji? "Sorry Alexandra-ji..." She watched in dismay when Alexandra got up abruptly and left the room. "Kya Geet, khud phar kyun lati maar rahi hai thu?!" She grimaced and followed her out into the living room. She saw that Alexandra was busy in the kitchen, now glaring at a microwave so she decided to keep out of her way and sat in the living room.

Last night's memory rushed back to her quickly and she took in a deep breath. She hardly knew this woman and had told her everything about herself, all she could do is trust that Babaji wasn't putting her through another test in life but was helping her out.

She looked around the room and tilted her head, realising for the first time how bare it was. Only the niceties were available. Two sofa chairs, one sofa, coffee table, television and DVD player...not to mention a plain black rug. Everything was basic, cold...detached, making Geet uncomfortable. There wasn't even any personal photo's, not even of herself. It wasn't as if the woman was poor and couldn't afford to decorate and add personality to the room, she could see that from the fact everything was still expensive. She peered into the kitchen and realised that 'everything' within this open spaced apartment was as Alexandra was, a stranger onto herself... Geet shook her head, amazed at where her thoughts were going.

Alexandra plopped down the cheese toastie and cup of tea in front of Geet, motioning for her to eat. "What were you thinking?" She asked suspiciously.

"Apne..." Geet shuffled guiltily, "Mein soch rahi thi...woh..."

"Kya?!" Alexandra had no patience for Geets' mumbling, she had a lot to do today...such as meeting Maan.

"Apne yahan koi photo's yah...apka India meh koi hai..." Geet bit into the cheese toastie then made a face, but carried on eating not wanting to offend Alexandra more than she probably already had.

"Nahi." Alexandra turned away, "I have no family. Neither here nor England. Now eat the damned food and mind your own business. Jab dekho ulte seedhe sawaal karthi hai." She muttered angrily and grabbed the document from the kitchen counter and put it on the coffee table in front of Geet. "Sign this."

Geet nearly spat out the sip of tea she had just taken. "Lekin! Yeh toh resignation letter hai..." She peered at the document more closely, "Isme toh mehra naam lika hai!?" She looked at Alexandra wide eyed. "Kyun?"

"Do you trust me?"

"Haan!"

"Then sign it!"

"Naa!" Geet got up, and quickly shuffled away from the coffee table as if it had just sprouted spider legs. "Aap pagal hogai hai kya?!"

"Geeet!" Alexandra glared at her and pointed at the document. "Trust me and sign the damned letter!"

"No! Nahi! Na!" Geet jammed her fingers into her ears and made to run towards the bedroom and squealed when Alexandra wrapped an arm around her middle, forcing her to stand still.

"Stop it!" Alexandra tightened her grip on Geet. "Chup! Bilkul Chup! You think Maan Singh Khurana respects someone with no self-respect!?" These words got Geet listening, albeit sulkily.

"Nahi..."

"Tho?!" Alexandra shoved her back into the sofa, pointing at the toastie. "Eat and listen. Learn to multi-task. Idiot." She watched Geet take a bite before resuming, "I told you I wanted to help. This is the first step of my pl-er I mean the first step of you getting this Maan Singh Khurana to listen to you, but by the sounds of what you described him as erm, this man sounds like he only listens to those he respects. Haina?"

Geet nodded, wondering why she hadn't thought this herself. She knew Maan better than this woman, yet how come Alexandra was stating this fact as if she had known Maan for years? "Aap bahut samajdhar ho."

"Jaanti joon." Alexandra straightened unconsciously at the compliment, "You're going to resign because you have self-respect. I've seen it...when I called you a prostitute...you tried to hit me. When your brother hurt you, you put him in jail. You have a backbone! You need to learn to keep that bone straight twenty-four seven."

"Lekin...mujhe iss nukri ki bahut zaroorat hai..."

Alexandra sighed irritably, "Focus Geet. You'll go to the office today..." She stood up acting out her words, "You'll stalk into his office...You'll throw that resignation letter at his face...then that ring." She pointed at Geets' hand venomously.

Geet got up at those words, blinking at Alexandra as if the woman had just asked her to do a tandav on the moon whilst wearing a bikini. "L-lekin..woh...Daadima...?"

"Leave Khurana's Daadima to me. As for your job, as from now you're my Personal Assistant. Samjhi? You can live in this apartment; I was going to move out tonight anyways." Alexandra raised a firm hand when Geet opened her mouth to disagree, "Just do as I say and finish your goddamned toastie already!" She shook her head in disgust and went to her room. "We leave in ten minutes! First your office then to the Khurana Mansion to pick up your crap."

Geet sat down and bit into her toastie once again, looking up at the ceiling belligerently as she chewed hard. Babaji! Yeh apke churail...Nahi! Mera matlab apki pari mujhe marwa kar churegi!

---

Pre-cap!

Maan slammed both his hands on the desk in front of him, his eyes blazed with rage. "Uski itni himmat?" He hissed out, grabbing the paperweight in front of him he threw it towards his door with all his might just as it opened to show two long legs clad in red knee length boots. His blood-shot eyes moved up taking in the slightly ripped t-shirt and leather jacket before resting on two stunned blue eyes he'd not seen for six years. "Alex..." He breathed out.
