"Papa, I know you didn't want me killed. You were the only one in our family who did something about it. You and mother, I know you both planned to have me escape, and daddy, you told me to run for my life! I love you. But your place is here with Darji and the family. Mine is not." I stated matter-of-factedly.
Mohinder and Rano clutched each other and tried to lessen their hurt.
"Then where is your place, beta?" Rano asked worriedly.
Maan stepped forward and once again, put my hand in his and held it up for everyone to see.
"Her place is with me." 😳 👏
MAHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
NEW UPDATE
Darji, Rano, Rupinder, Mohinder, uncle, Tito, Rajji, and everyone looked in awe at Maan and Geet as realization dawned upon them and they understood the significance and meaning of Maan's words.
It was one of those moments when nothing had to be said or heard. Just understood. Everyone stared at each other, waiting for someone to break the silence. But no one did. It was too sweet, too golden. Geet had found someone to share her joys, sadnesses, woes, happiness, good and bad, and health and wealth with. She looked at Maan, and in his eyes she saw the love of a true fiancee, a true lover. She saw true love. And he saw it too.
Brij stormed down the stairs of the Hoshiarpur Court, muttering swear words under his breath and talking about the day and age and how to save family respect 😆 Koi tumse seekhe, Brij!
He roamed the area like he was the owner without caring who walked in his way and acted like no one deserved to be the object of his gaze (frankly, no one wants you to look at them, Shani! 😆)
Brij bumped into Maan's perfectly chiseled and well-built body. Slowly but surely, Brij's red bloodshot eyes met Maan's accusing and angry eyes. He had met his match.
Geet instantly went behind Maan and clutched his arm in fear. He sensed her emotions and it brought anger to him that the girl he loved had to be afraid of someone, someone so cruel and disgusting and immoral. Maan Singh Khurana was furious.
"BRIJ!" Maan slapped Brij tightly across the cheek in front of the shoppers in the marketplace, the lawyers and attorneys of the court, the Handa family, and God and Geet. The world knew how much he loved Geet. He could do anything for her. When he saw Brij's eyes on Geet and his hands ready to strike her, he grabbed Brij's collar and pushed him back and leapt ahead like a disturbed lion.
Brij stumbled and hit Darji's knee, but he wasn't ready to give up. He balled up a fist and hit Maan in his gut. He sneered, acting like he'd just won a WW match.
Maan grunted and ignored the sharp pains calling out to him, and kicked Brij in the shin and gave him a double punch on his weakest spot.
Brij fell to the ground and looked at Maan and Geet from his low standpoint. "I won't let you get away so fast, girl! You ruined me, you ruined us. And as for you, Maan, watch out! I just got released on a bond, and I'm free until this bond expires, which isn't for awhile!"
Geet quivered and Maan burned.
"What family respect? What honor? The honor you earned by killing Channi, by trying to kill Geet? By oppressing the women in your family? By going to jail, by trying to assault your sister in public right now? What a great man, Brij! The world will remember you!" Maan retorted sarcastically, venom and bitterness evident in his tone and words.
Geet looked at Maan. "Suniye,"
Maan looked at Geet. "Kya hai?"
"I want to get the papers and go," Geet said, holding the tears back.
"Okay, we will. This place and these people aren't even worthy of you. And you call this home?" Maan said. He turned back to the Handas. "And listen! I am going to live to be a hundred, and no one can put a hand on my to-be wife while I'm alive! Understand?" he snarled.
"If you don't understand, I can make it clearer for you," Maan referred to his fists and looked at Brij. "But hopefully, you aren't that stupid and understand little things like this at least."
Maan looked at Geet with tender love. "Chale?"
"Let's go."
--In the next scene, expect some cute scenes. We need a break from all the seriousness!!--
