Scene 1: Doctor, NT, Dadi, Dev

Outside NT'Room

The doctor comes out after checking NT and breaks the news to the family….

The doctor looks scared, at the tone in which Dev has completed the sentence for her … Dadi ma… obviously NT ko bahut bada 'sadma' pahuncha hai iss hadse hai .. aap uske saath baithiye … main doctor sahiba ko bahar tak chod ke aata hoon…

Dadi nods and walks into NT's room….

Scene 2: Doctor, Dev

Outide the haveli

The doctor seems to be in a hurry to leave … when Dev says …

Dev: toh doctor … kitne paise miley aapko yeh sab karne ke liye ….

Doc: excuse me !

Dev: oh come on.. ab aap sach sach batayengi ya … soch lo … main NT ka pati hoon.. aur main yeh baat acche se jaanta hoon ke wo kabhi pregnant thi hi nahi …

Dev: toh blurt … sach kya hai …

Doc: unhone mujhe kal subah din pehle call kiya tha aur bola … ke main bas aake aap sab yeh yeh kahoon… unhone kaha tha … ke aap yeh baat handle nahi kar payenge ke wo pehle se hi Maa nahi bann sakti thi …

As the doctor leaves Dev is lost in thought ….

Dev: Naintara mere bare main soch rahi thi? Issne yeh sab iss liye kiya takey mujhe lagey key eh ek hadsa tha …. Maine khamakha uspe shak kia ….

Scene 3: NT, Dadi, Geet

NT's bedroom

NT: ( crying out to dadi … ) dadima … yeh humare saath kya hogaya … issey accha hota ke hum hi mar jaate …

Dadi: aisa nahi bolte beta …. Aapki umar hi kya hai …. Aur fir … yeh hua toh kya ? aap holiday pe jao … aapko jo karna hai wo aap karo … lekin aise nirash mat ho …

NT smiles ….. Geet comes in to check on NT, cos Maan is not at home …

Geet: ab aapki tabiyat kaisi hai ?

NT: hum theek hai Geet ….

Dadi: aap dono bacche baat karo … hum jaake rest karte hai ….

Geet: dadi main aapko aapke kamre tak chodke aati hoon…. ( obviously not wanting to stay back)

Dadi: arey nahi nahi … Devrani aur Jethani ke beech kitni saari batien hongi karne ke liye … aap log baitho … main chali jaungi …

Geet starts fidgeting with her dupatta … NT looks at her and senses her uneasiness and says …

NT: Geet… agar aap yahan humare saath thodi der baithengi toh hume accha lagega ….

Dadi smiles looking at them and leaves as NT says ….

NT: aapko hairani ho rahi hogi na ke humne aapko rukne ke liye kaha…

Geet doesn't respond .. she is still standing …

NT: Geet .. aap please yahan aake humare saath baith jaiye …

Geet: nahi … main yahan theek hoon… aur waise bhi mujhe jaana tha .. kitchen main …

NT: iss ghar main naukar haina … aap yahan pe baithiye … humara dard, humara dukh … agar koi samajh sakta hai toh sirf aap .. aur aap hi jaane ki baat kar rahi hai … iss ghar main hum inte logon ke beech rehne ke bawajood kitne akele hai …

Geet: dekhiye, aap yeh sab mujhe kyun bol rahi hai …

NT sheds some crocodile tears, wipes them off and says … " hume aapke saath aisa nahi karna chahiye tha Geet .. par yakeen maniye… hum apne pati pe pyar main itne pagal ho gaye they….

Geet: please kuch aur baat karte hai …

NT: nahi Geet … hume apna jee halka karna hai … hume apne kiye ki bahut badi saza mili hai …aap hume maaf kare ya na kare …uss upar waaley ne hume kabhi na maaf karne waali saza de di hai …

She starts crying again .. and Geet doesn't know what to say …

Geet: naintara ji … aap please rona band karo.. main dev ji ko bulake laati hoon ….

NT: huh Dev! Wo agar meri care karte to mera yeh haal kabhi na hota …

Geet: nahi naintara ji … mujhe pata hai … Dev ji aapse bahut pyar karte hai …

NT: aur Maan veerji aapse …

Geet nods …

NT: aur aap yahan unhe bina bataye aayi hai na?

Geet looks away …

NT: hum jaante hai … unhone ke aapko mana kiya hoga … lekin … wo mard hai na… ek aurat ka dukh ya dard kaise samjhenge …. Geet … hum aaj… aapse haath jodh ke maafi manga chahte hai … ke humne Dev ki gunah main unka saath dia .. aapko apna baccha giraneke liye kaha…. Uss waqt humara dimag kaam nahi kar raha tha … hum apne pati ke pyar main behek gaye they ……

Geet: dekhiye … yeh saari beetien baatien ab main bhool chuki hoon.. aur agar aap bhi yeh saari baatien bhool jaye toh accha hoga … issi main hum sab ki bhalayi hai .. haina?

NT: Nahi geet .. aise nahi .. pehle hum ek wada chahte hai …

Geet: kaisa wada?

NT: ghabrao mat … tumhe kuch aisa nahi maangoongi jo tum mujhe nahi de sakti …

Geet: kahiye …

NT: (wicked smile) hum aapko apna dost banana chahte hai … banengi aap humari dost?
geet: (hesitates)

NT: yeh humara secret rahega …. Please Geet … hume humari dosti nibhaane ka ek mauka toh do ….hum aapke liye kuch accha karna chahte hai …. Please Geet .. please .. friends ??

NT puts her hand forward and Geet after thinking for a while, joins hands with her … NT tries to lean forward to hug her, but then leans back as though her tummy is hurting….

Geet: dekhiye … ab aap aaram kaijiye … main baad main aati hoon....

As geet turns to leave NT says ….

NT: thanks Geet … hume aaj ek saheli mil gayi… aap bahut acchi hai ….

Scene 4: Geet, Maan

Kitchen/ Hall

Geet comes out …. She bumps into Dev … who apologises and walks away from there … but as she walks on .. and she is cutting vegetables in the kitchen… she is worried … she had agreed to become friends with NT but how would Maan react to it … should she tell him about this! He would for sure not approve of it .. but the condition in which NT is … perhaps Geet should wait .. cos things would go out of hand and she knew what Maan's temper was like …as she does this, she cuts her hand and a person comes rushing into the kitchen….

Maan: Geet! Sambhaal ke …

The finger cant stop bleeding… Maan puts the finger into his mouth, to stop the blood from oozing out.

Maan: kya zaroorat thi kitchen main aane ki … main ek din ke liye office kya chala gaya …tum ye sab karne lagi ho … tum kabhi meri koi baat maanti ho ….

They are now sitting in the hall as Maan is bandaging her wound grumbling to himself about how careless she has become .. Geet is looking at maan .. wondering if she should tell him about NT… after he is done with the bandaging, he takes her hand in his, kisses it and says ….

Maan: ab bilkul theek ho jayega ….

Geet smiles ..looks at him dreamily and then says ….

Geet: Maan sir … kya main aapse kuch keh sakti hoon ?

Maan: haan bolo….

Geet: agar main koi naye dost banau toh kya aapko aitraz hoga?

Maan: mujhe kyun problem hogi?

He starts making circles on her palm looking at it … while she talks …. And then he looks up and asks her …

Maan: kyun koi ladka hai kya?

Geet: meri yeh himmat … ke Maan Singh Khurana ke hote hue main kisi aur ladke se dosti karoon…

Maan: exactly…. Young ladke… especially tumhare age ke .. useless hote hai …

Geet: nahi Maan sir … ghabrayiye mat … main ladki ki hi baat kar rahi hoon…

Maan: fir toh theek hai ….ladki se mujhe kya problem hogi… karo karo … par … tum uske ghar nahi jaa sakti … tumhe milne … usey yahan aana hoga …

Geet: uski naubat nahi ayegi sir …

Maan: matlab….?

Geet: (hesitates) wo … Naintara …..!!

Maan: usne fir se kuch kia Geet ? tum mujhe batao… mujhe wo pehle se hi pasand nahi thi … bahut ajeeb si hai …

Geet gets scared ….

Geet: aapko aisa kyun lagta hai ?

Maan: Geet kuch log aise hote hai … jinhe dekhte hi … kuch accha nahi lagta … negative vibes you know …

Geet nods ….

Maan: toh tum apne dost ke bare main kuch bol rahi thi ….

Geet: ji kuch nahi …. Koi important baat nahi hai …. ( with a hesitant smile)

Scene 5: Geet, NT, Dev

Geet and NT are sitting and chatting away .. enjoying themselves .. as Dev comes and see's them there … he is happy to see the two of them mingling with one another … NT makes Geet wear some of her jewellery and Geet hesitates to try it on …

NT: aapko accha laga …

Geet: yeh bahut khoobsoorat hai …

NT: humse zyada … yeh aap pe jach raha hai … aap isey rakh lee liye …

Geet : nahi main isey nahi rakh sakti ….

NT: ghabrayiye nahi … iske badle main hum aapse zaroor kuch na kuch lenge … you see.. give and take …

Geet: kahiye… aapko kya chahiye ….

NT: aapka baccha Geet …
Geet is shocked …

NT: aapki toh Maan veerji se shaadi jo jayegi … aur aapke apne bacche honge …uske baad … aap fir se bacche paida kar sakte hai … please mujhe yeh baccha dedo …. Please .. humare dosti ke khatir ….

And in the very next scene, Geet is seen with a full blown tummy …. Handing over her baby to NT … NT holds the baby cuddles him… comes out … and deliberately drops the baby down from the first floor .. and has a wicked smile on her face and says …

NT: oops geet! I am sorry! Galti ho gayi ….

And Geet is crying uncontrollably …..

"Mera baccha" he says and sits up in cold sweat ….. as NT turns the light on … Dev turns around to look at NT lying next to him …

NT: kya hua Dev ….

Dev: mera baccha he says ….

NT: humara baccha ? ( aap toh jaante hai na… she makes a sad pitiable face ….humare bacche ko kya hua ….)

Dev regains his composure and says … " oh yes … I am so sorry baby … main tumhe pareshaan nahi karna chahta tha…

NT: don't worry Dev .. ye lee jiye … pani peejiye …. Lagta hai aapne koi bura sapna toh nahi dekha ….

Dev: haan… shayad sapna hi tha ….

He turns to sleep … but … before that .. he asks NT …

Dev: Naintara … aapne Geet se dosti kyun ki?

NT: yeh kaisa ajeeb sawaal hai … ab wo humari jethani banne waali hai … issi liye hum saari purani baatein bhool kar apna rishta fir se shuru karna chahte hai ….

Dev: aur humara kya NT ?

NT: yeh sab main humare rishte ke khatir hi toh kar rahi hoon…

Dev turns off the light and both of them try to sleep … but a thought is haunting Dev's mind now ….

"that baby was his .. and he couldn't see the baby meeting that fate in the dream… when the baby would be born for real… how would he be able to stay away from it .. especially now when he knew for sure… he could never become a father again …"

Dev: (in his mind) yeh tu kya soch raha hai …. Uss bacche ko sirf jaan tumne dia hai …uske aagey uss bacche pe tumhara koi haq nahi hai …

NT: ( in her mind) dost toh bas shuruwad hai Geet …!! Aapse dosti karne main bahut mazaa ayega ….

NT: gnite Dev ….

Dev: Gnite NT …

Precap: Dev is bathing in the loo… NT and Geet are in the hall… NT says … Geet zara mere kamre se please wo humare tablets la dengi …humara pet abhi bhi dard kar raha hai …. Geet walks towards the room as Dev is just getting out of the shower… Maan and Geet are walking towards one another and dev room is in between… Geet enters the room and Dev is in his towel only .. Maan see's this and is furious …
