Chapter 47

It had been two days since the barbecue party and Nargis had noticed a listless Nupur. She was outwardly bubbly but when she thought that no one was looking, that's when she was in a pensive mood. Nargis knew her too well to not know what was happening to her. She seemed to be irked by Arjun's behavior. Arjun had been a bit reticent after the dance, like he did not want to have anything to do with Nupur. He pretended to be more interested in turning the chicken, checking up if there was enough drinks, ice and other excuses to stay away from the group altogether.

Vicky had told her as much. He had said, "Isse kya ho gaya? Abhi to lag raha tha he won't let her go, now he can't seem to want to be near her." He had tried to get him around couple of times but knew it will have Arjun dig in his heels deeper and not join so he had let it be.

Maan had been oblivious to his friend's mood that evening but the next he had felt something off when he had called Arjun to thank for the party and asking him to come over. This guy who had come for the wedding had come up with an excuse to stay away? That had gotten Maan thinking what had he missed? He had asked as much to Vicky and been informed that Arjun seemed to have the hots for Nupur. Maan then realized what had happened and he then planned his own form of retribution to his friend for not confiding in him. He called him up and asked him to go shopping for things that Maan really did need to have a heart to heart.

Aditya was on top of the world. He now knew why Leo had screamed "I am king of the world" in Titanic. He was feeling the same since last two days. He had dreamed of Faz being with him and he had been given that opportunity on a plate. Moreover, Faz seemed to be as interested in him as he was. She had given him more bold looks after that first dance and had sat next to him when everyone was sitting around the barbecue eating and he had felt a current pass through him whenever their hands had accidentally touched. Faz had looked at him with shyness and desire mingled in one whenever that had happened. He of course knew that may be nothing will come of this relation.

He will have to put a lid on his emotions lest they create a situation where two families are unhappy. But that was the rational side of him. What does one tell this nave heart? Stop beating a little harder whenever she comes in his mind? To stop increasing the flow of blood in every nerve ends that heightens with sensitivity whenever she touches him? To stop making him feel warm all over when he felt her breath on his cheeks? He was remembering the kiss she had given him on the cheek as he had dropped her home that evening. In the car, before she had gotten out, she had leaned towards him, given him a peck and had rushed out of the car, slamming the door in haste and ran into her house without looking back.

Faz was still deriding her for having been so impulsive. "How could you do it?" she asked herself. Even two days after the barbecue, she was yet to get a grip on herself over what she had done. First she had made him dance then she had sat next to him and ensured their hands, bodies touched "accidentally" and then the last one had been the cherry on the cake of her brazenness, she had actually gone and given him a peck? What was happening to her? She fumed at herself. She knew how her family will react if they ever come to know how she had behaved. She promised herself, she was going to stay away from Aditya.

Nupur had her own angst. Why did he stay away? Did I do something wrong? She was plagued with questions in her head and could not fight the feeling that there was more to it than meets the eye. She had felt something when she had been in his arms. He had seemed to like it. Well she had liked it. But he had withdrawn. It did not add up. She tried to shake herself off from his thoughts but was unable to. After two days of introspection, she decided she was going to confront him. No that would be like admitting to feeling something. Oh God! She thought. Help me!

Abs was busy with all the activities of wedding preparation. She was extremely busy and was looking forward to the party Faz had kept for them tonight. She got some gifts ready to be given to the girls and special one for Faz for doing this for her. She had gone to some friends' bridal showers and knew what transpired and was not looking forward to her being ribbed. She felt extremely awkward and shy about traipsing in front the girls in lingerie and was trying to come up with some excuse to not do it. If may be Nargis and Nupur were not there, Faz may not know the actual customs she wondered and hoped that was the case.

Faz had called everyone to remind about the bridal shower. She had had called Nargis to know about the customs that they followed in US and Canada on Vickys insistence. Unknown to Nargis, Vicky had been listening to the conversation and had given a high five to Faz when Nargis had told about the lingerie custom and that she had bought a couple for Abs already so Faz need not worry about it. Faz also informed that she had bought her some as well. They laughed at what Abs will do when she will have to follow this. Faz put the phone down after confirming the time of everyone's arrival and told Vicky, "Ab aayega mazaa Bhai Jaan. Plan yahan tak to successful ho gaya. Now the ball's in your court. Dekho koi garbad na ho."

Vicky winks and says, "Vicky aur garbad, sawaal hi paida nahi hota, tum dekhi jaao ab ye janaab kya karta hai. Yaar, sachchi, school ki shararatein yaad aa gayeein."

Tum badi sweet ho, bohut time ho gaya tha last update ke baad. It was worth the time though. What are these two up to? Can't be anything good. Look forward to the next update.

Faz bhi abdi chuppi Rustum nikhli....waise lo lagti hain jaise usse jiyaada shareef koi ho hi nahi sakta.....lenkin Vicky ke saath mil jaati hain, ek alag si FAZ hi ban jaati hain...a carefree...chul bulli young girl!!
