Geet went inside and looked out of the window and saw Maan's car leave. She shook her head. She didn't know what to feel about her boss. He acted as if he didn't care a bit but he made sure that she was safe…..always.

Even when they had hardly known each other, he had always come to her rescue. He had saved Gurwinder too on her request from her brother Brij and then saved her too from him. He never acknowledged that fact and didn't let her thank him either. On the other hand he had gotten mad at her for not reporting her brother to the police. She had done that later but he would never know. Geet closed her mind to those memories. They were too painful for her and all they did was weaken her.

"I won't think about this….Brij is in jail and I have a new life here….Geet concentrate on find that Dev and bringing him to justice and then raise your child" she cajoled herself, willing herself to forget about the complex man who always was there for her rescue.

Geet goes inside her room and freshens herself and goes to sleep.

Maan paces his room, moving his hand through his hair. He was restless since the time he had heard that Brij was out on bail. He was sure that in a few days he would find out Geet's whereabouts and finish the work he had set out for in the first place and that was to kill Geet.

"Damn" Maan punched the wall in frustration. How was he going to keep her safe?

Keep her safe? Since when was he worried about her? Maan stopped pacing and his thoughts took a new turn. He had started the investigation for the simple purpose that he had wanted all the answers pertaining to Geet but now he was worried about her safety.

"She is not a kid……she can take care of herself" Maan said to himself.

"She is hardly 18…..she is fighting to the best of her ability but she doesn't even know she is in danger…..What are you thinking Maan" his mind screamed back.

"How am I supposed to look after her….better so why am I supposed to look after her….I should just warn her" he argued back.

"You better be kidding….if you are so detached….then you shouldn't have saved her in the first place" his mind argued back.

"Darn It" Maan growled. He paced like a caged lion that was confused and angry at the same time. This girl was trouble….this had been his first instinct….he should have listened to it. He should have taken care of his land deal and left her there……but no….she had to land at his office in Delhi and work as his secretary.

"Agggh" a frustrated Maan goes into the gym and takes his frustration and indecision out at first on Dev's punching bad and then starts practicing the martial arts which always calmed him down. After an hour of non- stop practice, his body gave in and he stumbled to his knees tired. He got back to his room, took a shower and lay on his bed, giving into the tiredness of his body and drifted off to sleep, trying to forget about Geet and her problems.

Sasha had been having bad luck in finding out anything on Geet. She had gone to Hoshiyarpur in the hopes of finding out dirt on Geet but people in her village were tightlipped. The first person she had tried to ask was her very own father but he had shrugged his shoulders and told her that all he knew was that Maan Khurana had bought land from her and after that she had disappeared and no one talked about her and it was in her best interest to that she didn't talk about Geet either.

"Papji…please….I need to know some information about her background….for MK" she played her trump card but her father's eyes narrowed.

"Sasha…..how many times have I told you that you don't have to worry about chotte sahibji and his problems?" he admonished her and Sasha rolled her eyes.

"How many times have I told you that you can call him Maan" she argued back.

"Sasha….please….we are his employees……his family has been good to us …but let's not take that for granted" he warned his daughter, who he knew had plans to be in Maan's life.

"You want to remain their employee….but Papaji….when Dadima was looking for a bride for him…you didn't even suggest my name" she replied bitterly, as she knew that her father knew full well that she was in love with Maan.

"Beta…..suggest your name? Are you serious…..have you forgotten the difference in their stature and ours?" he asked perplexed. He had tried hard to explain to his beloved daughter that she was not suitable for their family but she refused to listen and still harbored the dream of one day having the Khurana name.

"Please papaji……forget it….you will always remain a simpleton….but I don't want to be like you….I will pave my own way" she had snapped and then concluded the argument.

She had tried to hit a few villagers for some information but had received nothing. Bored and frustrated, Sasha had spent the time having to work for the project she wasn't even interested in till the day she ran into Channi's mother.

Sasha was coming back home after her yet another unsuccessful attempt at talking to the villagers when a woman ran into her. Sasha gently caught her by her shoulders and asked her if she was ok.

"Ok….I have forgotten the meaning of the word" Sasha saw immense pain in the eyes of the elderly women.

"What happened auntyji?" Sasha inquired politely and struck gold.

The women started sobbing uncontrollably and told her how the respected Handa khaandan was responsible for the death of her daughter Channi…..her only fault….falling in love.

"They didn't even forgive their own daughter ….Geet" Channi's mother continued, oblivious of the ecstatic expression which settled on Sasha's face.

"Geet?" she questioned softly, unable to believe that what she had been looking for was being handed to her after all.

"Yeah Geet…….Brij…..her brother tried to kill her….like my Channi…..you know why?" she asked Sasha and Sasha nodded a no.

"Why?" the woman stopped her story and started laughing hysterically.

"Why?" Sasha tried to egg her on but she kept laughing.

"Brij is looking for her….she put him in jail…….I wish she would have killed him….he killed my Channi" she started wailing. Sasha tried her level best to get more information from the woman who had told her some interesting stuff about Geet but it seemed like her luck has evaporated. She tried to calm the hysterically crying woman but failed to do so. Tired, she walked away, thinking about the information she had gathered about Geet.

Her own family was trying to kill her? Why would they do so? She had seen them about town and had even seen their haveli……Geet belonged to a well to do family…..she must have done something to bring shame to the family name, that they were hell bent upon killing her.

Sasha walked to her house with a million unanswered questions in her mind. Sasha thought about ways to present Geet's past in front of MK the whole night but didn't come up with anything which he would believe.

"Aggghhhh….what a waste of the trip…..papji refuses to help and all the information I received….was from a crazy old lady……how will I get rid of Geet" she paced her room when suddenly and idea struck her. A huge smile appeared on sasha's face and her eyes gleamed with victory. She had found a way to get rid of Geet forever……and she was going to use it….no one was going to stand in Sasha's way of being Mrs. Maan Khurana.
