Dia was hysterical, she and her fiance had gone out for a week to spend some quality time together on goa beaches , they had to cut their trip short to three days because dia suddenly remembered it was her sister gunjan's birthday..
Gunjan had been the one to make things right between her and benji. Had it not been for her , both of them would have never been able to acknowledge their feelings for each other. It was she who showed them a way to make their disapproving parents agree to this marriage alliance and they bth acted as perfect forgetful gits and forgot the birthday of the girl they owed so much !!!! they actually left her alone .. all alone in a vast city like Mumbai , that to on her birthday!!!
Both of them would never forget their stupidity!!!
But they were back now.. dia had been so happy when her plane had landed at Mumbai airport .. she was going to surprise her cousin sister !!! and they were going to take loads of gifts for her... benji was already planning loudly about what they would and would not do for her birthday ...
Dia opened her purse to retrieve her cell phone .. she was going to call gunji and wish her a happybirthday .. she would make her belive that they were still in goa and then she and benji would surprise her by landing at her doorstep unannounced ..
That was the plan ... the original plan...
But when dia glanced at her cell, everything changed..
A sudden strange fear overpowered her!!...

Dia and benji didn't move or spoke for next few minutes.. ranvijay's messages had wrecked real havoc on them .. gunjan was hurt. She was fine but hurt and they could do something to erase her loneliness?? What was he talking about??
Dia looked at benji uncertainly.. her own heart thumping real hard ..
B= call him.. we need to know what happened last night..
Dia didn't need telling twice . she opened her cell and pressed the call button over rv's number..

Scene 2>
Dia was literally shaking as she told benji all about what rv had told her.. she told him everything about gunjan's accident , about samrat, about what nupur reavealed about gunjan's past to rv.. she told him everything..
Both of them then went silent.. the information they had just learned had left them speechless. Both of them looked around themselves blankly.. the cafeteria they were sitting in right now was just outside the airport building.. it was spacious and yet dia felt as if the walls were closing in, making her suffocate with less air..
B= are u fine??
D= yes.. no.. i don't know..
B= its okay baby its ok..
D= she never told us anything benji never.. she kept on hearing all our problems, solving them, but never once did she mention.. didn't she trust us enough to help her??
B= no no dia that's not it.. gunjan is shy u know!! And she is a dumb dork, she must have thought why to worry us about these stupid things!! But now we know .. we know now dia and we got a chance to repay her kindness to us..
D= ranvijay asked me to call nupur asa i was fine..he said nupur will tell me what to do next ...
B= okay then what r we waiting for??? Lets get going.. call her.. and in the meanwhile i'll try finding out where that dumb uday is!!

(shergill house)>
Nupur just looked on as mayank hugged sam to pacify him, it was a heart rendering sight.. sam looked too much broken because of that accident.. mayank was here comforting his brother , he was doing his duty perfectly ..
What about her?? She knew gunjan was hurt and she was standing here doing nothing,... she should go call her sister , find out where she was , go to her ,hug her ,make sure she was completely fine..
Nupur took her cell out, she couldn't wait any longer. Damm the surprise party, the day was too painful and weird to celeberate anything. She was going to call her sister .. that was what she was going to do..
But just when She was about to press call button over gunjan's number when her cell buzzed...
It was DIA who was calling ...
A sudden relief washed through her...
She picked up her cell and attented the call there and then ..forgetting she was standing in front of two highly emotional, crying gits!!
N= OH GOD DIA WHERE WERE YOU DUMB??? DO U HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THE HELL BROKE LOOSE LAST NIGHT???
Samrat and mayank jumped,and stared at nupur stunned.. she was answering her cell phone and totally totally appeared shaking with relief.
Both of them got up from the bed and surrounded her, nupur noticed this and suddenly realised what she had done ...
N= oh oh dia .. oh i'll call later.. no no that cant happen now no.. no dia.. i know i promised but see things changed , we cant do what we planned.. yes s yes i am fine , they both are fine too but we cant .. oh god dia stop being hysterical, everything is fine.. i'll call later .. just just wait for my call and don't panic...
Switching off her cell and cursing herself for the stupidity of attending the call in front of the twins , she turned and faced them.. they were looking at her , worried and confused..
M= what what happened??
N= what.. no nothing happened.. it was my cousin.. she was just getting a bit hysterical about me.. its nothing to worry about..
M= but u said last night was hell and it changed loads of things , loads of plans . what changed??
N= nothing mayank nothing i told she was just being hysteri...
S(cutting nupur in midsentence)=last night when i recived ur call. U were saying something about needing mayank's help in something.. what was it??
N=wh..what no that.. yes that , ya i needed his help in picking me up from airport remember??
M= oh!! Its okay nupur don't worry.. ur sister is back now so do u want me to take u to her?? Or..
S= no no wait mayank she is hiding something, whatever help she required it wasn't getting picked up from airport.damm mayank she is leing .. its soo clear in her eyes...
Nupur looked at them desperately as the two brothers rounded on her, determined to know what plans had changed ..what help she really needed...
N= i huh i...
M(folding his arms in front of his chest)=u have no other option.. come out with truth or u wont move an inch from here.. what real help did u needed??
N= umm guys it was nothing else then inviting u bth to the surprise birthday party of my sister .which was supposed to happen today !!! she is an avid fan of u bth specially of samrat!!thats it ...nothing so serious!!!
Mayank and samrat blinked.. everything grew silent for few seconds and then both of them burst out laughing ...this was the bizrest thing .. a party amidst all this??? Seriously and nupur thought they would be angry .. why .. why would they be???it was a welcomechange from all this ...a day spend for someone else.. a girl who they didn't even know.. a girl whose birthday was today .. they will make it special for her.. it will feel good..
S(between his laughs)= nupur u are such a dumb.. why wont we come to the party??? Don't u think it would be a welcome change for us bth???
M= seriously nupur it should be we who should be thanking u in return..
And then sam and mayank continued laughing.. nupur stood their besides their bed facing them.. too stunned to belive her luck!! The party was still on???

Scene 4>>
S= okay now tell me about ur sister..
Samrat said while sitting across the dinning table with mayank and nupur.. they were hungry and nupur had wipped them a quick meal comprising of noodles. Both the brothers were completely hopeless at cooking..
N(while munching a chocolate bar she had found in the fridge)=what do u want to know..??
S=anything .. tell some stories about her..
Nupur smiled.. samrat wanted to know stories about his lady love???
Well why not give him the pleasure??
N=u know she is real shy. Never says the things she is thinking, afraid of the world totally.. when i was small i used to be so afraid for her . but she is doing fine. And i belive in her , she may be a little quiet but she is too wise and intelligent for the whole world.. she mostly finds her way through tricky stuff and when she doesn't i am there for her..
U know i am one of the only 2 persons alive , to whom she keeps on talking . in front of others she is quiet , there she mostly listens..
Samrat listened , his heart hammering fast , nupur's sister reminded him of her so much ... so much , it was as if nupur was describing gunjan only..
S=who is the the other one?? The otherone to whom she talks freely..

Samrat froze and mayank choked on the bits of noodles he was chewing...
M=wh..what??
N= ya i told u she loves samrat like mad.. may be she is his biggest fan.. she keeps on talking to this photo of his she has in her room.. day in and day out.. sometimes i think she is going to marry that picture..
Samrat and mayank simply stared at her..
His heart had started beating again. Nupur was not talking about gunjan, some other girl, for a second he had thought she was talking about her and in that second everything inside him has melted down..
But now his body temperature was returning to normal.. or so he hoped..
Nupur was smiling to herself , the looks on both the brother's faces were worth a watch , she was quiete literally enjoying herself.. it was fun hee hee.. samrat was going to get a surprise for himself in the evening .. the surprise for a lifetime.
She cleared her throat.and looked squarly at mayank.
N= i need ur help.. can u take me to market plz?? I don't have vehicle and i promised to meet dia and benji at the mall.if if its no problem..
Mayank looked at her, what was she playing at? She knew no way in hell could he leave samrat alone in the house today . then why did she asked him to come with him? Mayank just stared at her trying to get any clue from her face expressions ..and then he abruptly got up..
M= nupur i'll help you . ofcourse..can u come with me to the kitchen lets wash these dishes and then we can go wherever u want..
Saying so mayank took his unfinished plate and went to the kitchen that was located at just the other side of the lobby...
Samrat and nupur kept sitting there silently for next few seconds ..then samrat mustered up enough courage to look at her..
Her eyes were wet .. that was something he had expected, mayank's rude tone could melt anything and nupur was just one girl ...one sweet little helpful girl, what was he playing at?? She just asked for some help.. why was he suddenly behaving like a jerk??? What the hell just happened and why the hell was his head still hurting like hell??..
S=nupur i.. he doesn't mean it, he just likes being angry.. i don't understand why he suddenly turned to a git but don't u worry he will come around soon..
"hopefully" the last word samrat didn't speak ..it just hung unsuspended in the empty air between them..
Nupur got up then and managed to give sam a wry smile a, then she collected bth her's and his plate and went off in the direction of the kitchen .. her mind totally numb . what had happened back there???
As she entered the tastefully coloured kitchen she avoided looking around , went straight to the sink and started doing the dishes,
She was afraid that if she turned around mayank would be standing in front of her , glaring at her for no specific reason.
Or for a reason she hasn't yet known about ...
M=nupur..
Nupur froze, this was something bad really bad.. she had actually thought that when mayank would speak to her he would sound apologetic , totally embarrsed about how rudely he talked to her before..
But he sounded as rude as he did before..
She turned and faced him, his face was set into hard lines, no way did he resemble her friend, he totally looked a stranger.
Nupur tried to push back the tears that were welling up in her eyes again ,she couldn't get successful so she turned her back to mayank again.
M= what do u need me to do?
N= nothing .i am going to call dia , she would have reached home by now and she will pick me up in few minutes and then we'll go shopping . u don't need to worry..
M= okay.
And then nupur heard him going away. In a daze she switched on her cell and dialled dia's number, after telling her to pick her up from the elm street , she moved out of the kitched to the dinning table there she started collecting her stuff in a hurry. Something inside her had broken , she still had no idea why mayank behaved with her the way he did.
She no longer wanted to know why, mayank didn't care , he didn't care that his tone had hurt her so much , he didn't even care to explain her the reason for his anger . he didn't care about anything and now he no longer needed to care for anything.
The anger in her bubbled, she wanted to turn and face mayank and shout her lungs out at him and to say that they were no longer friends and that he was no longer invited in the evening's party but something in her stopped her from behaving her that way. Samrat and gunjan wernt at a fault at this .. and they shouldn't suffer because mayank suddenly decided to behave as a first rated jerk..
She continued to pack her things.. she had three bags with her, she had planned to stay with her sister for two months . and now she hated herself for packing up so much , she was going to have a problem in taking so much baggage with her to the gate of the shergill mansion, unlike last night when mayank had helped her with her stuff, she had to carry all that alone this time ..
Okay so she would start with the smallest bag first , it will take her about three rounds to take her stuff to the gate , but what other choise did she had??
This house , that appeared to be so welcoming and warm just last night suddenly appeared to be menacing .. as if mocking at her desire for mayank , her love for him .. as if somehow saying that she doesn't deserve the happiness she wishes to have and that she wont get it..
A tear stained her cheek..
This was not how she had pictured the day, she had thought while going to market she will tell mayank all the reality abt her and rv .. and with matters cleared up they may just start going out together..
But things changed so drastically and she even didn't know why???
She picked her bag and started moving towards the door..
Just then she felt a gentle caress of a hand on her shoulder...
MAYANK????
She whirled around , a smile beginning to form at her lips , but it was quenched immediately..
It wasn't mayank , it was sam. And he looked so sorry and soo embaressed and so angry..
S= nupur i have no idea why mayank did what he did , i just don't know.. but nupur pls pls don't be so angry with him . he will come around n then he would have some explaining to do or i will break his nose, which incidently is something i am itching to do right now.
N= no no.. sam u bth r not fighting over me u get it?? Specially when i don't even understand the reasone for his sudden rude behaviour. Pls don't make me feel guilty for this too. I already feel i burdened myself on u guys last night when u sam were so injured . mayank may be snapped because of my unwanted intrusion .. i am sorry sam i am sorry i don't know what happened but i was alone at the airport last night and no one was picking up the phone and mayank was my only option , i didn't mean to pry on ur privacy i didn't , i am sorry i am sorry...
And with that nupur couldn't stop her tears any longer, before even realising she was sobbing.
Sam looked at her hurt and totally at loss of words...
