PART 1
Her words rang repeatedly in his mind. his body not responding. His heart numb. He wanted to cry but tears were not ready to flow.
He went outside and looked to the sky with bloodshot eyes' his life seemed to have become a puzzle'the reason for his existence unsolved'
He was too shocked to show any reaction. The truth was yet to sink into him'there were still unanswered qustions in his mind. There were still unfelt emotions in his heart. A part of him was dying each second. But something forced him to move on. It was the force of love. He knew if she were here she would have wanted him to fight'and this was the least he could do for her.. he could never forgive the person who killed his life but for this he would have to live without his life.
He somehow found his way back to the two room cottage where he was staying alongside ridhima.
Slowly he became weak in all senses and he sprang to the ground on his knees'crying and begging to god to return him his life, his niki'.he looked towards the sky and cried out loud " niki tumhe to himmat rakhni thi na'.tumne to mujhse vaada kiya tha ki meri himmat banogi'lekin'tumne meri himmat ko kamzor kyun kiya niki'.humne ek dusre se 'vaada kiya tha ki hum saath jeeyenge to mujhe akela kyun chod gayi niki'.kyun niki??tumhe ye kaise laga ki tumhaara armaan tumhaare bina reh sakta hai'.niki aaj main tut gaya hun andar se'.main saans le raha hun lekin har pal aisa lag raha hai ki main ghut ke mar raha hun' meri dhadkanein chal rahi hai lekin mera dil '.ab bejaan hai'."
Whilst he said all this ridhima stood at the door with his medicines. She had no courage to walk upto armaan and console him but as a doctor she knew that she had to control him now or else it will have a adverse effect on his mental health.
In slow steps she finally walked apto him and haunched down on her knees.. she saw his swollen red eyes ... and she could not utter a word. She felt like crying with him. She had been witnessing his love from the day he gained conciousness.
She just kept her hand on his shoulder which he held with his palm and he cried his heart out' he needed someone to whom he could call out' on whose shoulder he could cry and unintendedly he just hugged ridhima and cried.
At first she was taken aback but his sobs soon made her caress his hair He told her all that happened as her face expressed anger to shock to pity. As he finally gained composure separated himself from her as he repeated the words " Niki ne meri himmat tod di ridhima' usne mujhe akela chod diya"
Ridhima held his hand and said " armaan tumhe niki ko apni kamzori nahi himmat banana hai'tumhe use ehsaas dilaana hai ki uska pyaar sacha tha'tumhe ye saabit karna hai ki tumhaare pyaar mein kitni taakat hai'.tumhe apni niki ko insaaf dilaana hai armaan'.vo jo chahti thi gvo karna hai'varna niki kabhi khush nahi rahegi"
Armaan listened carefully but did not react positively or negatively. He just looked at ridhima with eyes full of emotions and having his medicine he went out and settled on the swing thinking deeply. Sitting there he slowly drifted to a deep sleep.. once he was asleep ridhima came and covered him with a blanket. She sat on the chair in front rubbing her arms as she felt cold but at the moment her mind was preoccupied. Even though she did not know niki but she developed an instant bond with armaan.
She felt that he was different from people around. His love, his way of reacting to situations...it was all different' she had wandered through many hidden territories of his emotions in the past few days when she saw him break down emotionally but the way he confided in her today was different. ' tears formed up her eyes remembering his condition just a while back' she brushed aside his thoughts and without realizing she too slept on the chair.
